@@deananderson7170 i was gonna buy spray lube for my rk61 because i dont have all kinds of tools to take out the switches due to it not being hotswap but now im having second thoughts.

@@BingstonGames When did you buy your rk61? I bought mine in April and it comes as hotswappable. I bought the "non-hotswappable" blue led version.
i once “lubed” a switch with coconut oil to see what would happen. it sounded fine at first, but lost all functionality after about 30 minutes. fun fact: coconut oil hardens.
Not in tropical countries, it won't even get close to hardening in an AC room here
I used coconut oil too, still works perfectly after a week or so

I do believe they make different forms and one type stays more liquidy but I can't remember which
your bravery will be remembered.....you just need to convince your parents to move to a hot place, there the oil will melt and then you would be able to use your keyboard again
To people who are watching this video and considering this as a serious alternative: Don't actually use anything other than lube that is specifically meant for keyboards though, since olive oil can fuck with the plastic and metal of the spring, and it might start smelling bad after some time and vaseline literally corrodes plastics. So yeah. This is fun and all, but it's not a replacement to proper lube.
vaseline actually works long term on switches, provided u don't overlube. It's not recommended on stabilizers though.

@@apefish2266 i see, be careful on which vaseline you use, cause i used a really cheap one and the first week worked well, but the second and the third week it started to desapear from the switch and now it feels and sounds like as if a have not lubed it

I actually tried modding my horrible Razer Blackwidow stabs with vaseline and it worked great for a few weeks, until dust and debris built up then I was left with a half working space bar :(
Also Vaseline doesn't last when exposed to air... but overall I did liked the feel of vaseline lubed stabs lmao

i once "lubed" my cheap rubik's cube with vaseline to make it stop locking on the corners and move faster.
the corner locking became worse and i created a side locking but hey! i got smooth right turns.

I used wd-40 to lube my cubes
i did that with my first rubiks cube lol. it works fine tho
technically it is good for like mechanisms that are very blocky like a rubiks brand but for modern cubes just dont. use actual speedcube lube or traxxas.

Im just warning people here, a lot of these lubes will degrade plastic housing or springs, so be careful and research them before taking the risk.

For those who are daring enough to try vaseline, don’t because vaseline actually corrode plastics as it is a petroleum jelly and will only sound good for a while and will “glue” your switches together. I know this due to first hand experience with lubing my backspace and stabs with vaseline and they were knocked out after a while.

@@johnsantos5251 I used the cocoa butter version of vaseline and I've had it in for about a week and no changes. I also lubed my stabs with it and they've been fine.
