Okay, so Im not going to even lie. Taking apart the segway to reach the speaker assembly is a pain in the ass. Almost everything that has a bolt or screw needs to be taken off and some of the items are pressed on by machine and are difficult to remove......but it can be done and it takes about 45mins - 1 hour.

(these are not given out to the public, I am told, I scored one from a disgruntled employee after calling and calling and emailing a million times requesting a firmware update that disables the speaker)

I am considering a quicker method of drilling a hole thru the plastic housing and pulling wires out and replacing one with a switch.....Perhaps do a quick video on that and location of the speaker from outside.

Good god... I don't want a segway, I hate them and don't have the budget to risk falling and breaking my camera equipment but I couldn't take my eyes off screen all video long. Hi. Thanks for the content. Just wanted to add some other possible (and cheaper) alternatives. I've used rollerblades which worked really well and are more maneuverable than skateboard as far as turns. I used these once to shoot on a rough boardwalk with a cheap steadicam rig and it came out fairly smooth. I've also thought about getting a used wheelchair, especially for rougher terrains, to get smooth panning or zooming shots.

You can actually use a bike for this too, which allows higher-speed shots and quicker transportation around. Just be careful though and be prepared to use only 1 hand on your gear.

i dont have a pricey segway but i rent the peddle asist electric bikes for 4 bucks all day . and man recording on wheels works so much better

I actually have been using a hoverboard for the same general purpose, though I use mine for more like impossible dolly shots for reactions. They work about as well.
0:03 lol copy paste ;) That z-axis trick is super helpful. Love parallax shots! How hard is it to prove you've got the goods before they see the end product. How long into the shoot before they trust that a gimbal + Segway combo will give them all they need?
