Same! I played BL2 a few years ago on my mac, never heard of it before. Was the best gaming experience of my life! Got a Series X last year, played The PreSequel and recently BL1 and was almost as impressed! I can't wait to play BL3 next! I know the story isn't apparently as good but still, it's Borderlands!
Borderlands 2 helped me bond with my step brother in a way no other game did, the amount of fun times both of us spent just playing through together and then going insane in UVHM is a gaming experience i will forever cherish in my heart
Yeah idk about that. That song was already big on the radio. Not to mention Cage the Elephant really “blew up” after their third album, which they won a Grammy for.
Just played through all of them again because my girlfriend hadn't. Went in reverse order; BL3, pre-sequel, BL2, and then BL1. Such a great game for co-op
I agree that it's underrated, but it definetely isn't as good as BL1 or 2. The oxygen bar sucks, the movement feels slow, the guns are the same, it's mostly just a copy paste of BL2 but worse. The vault hunters are cool though.
Definitely the worst one. It was funnier and had a better story but far worse gameplay than 3. Pre sequal is the one I recommend the least by far. However it's still funny and has a good story. 2 has the best vault hunters tho 😎
Found borderlands on the 360 in highschool when i saw one of my school friends on it 24/7. Decided to look it up and it looked so fun. The rest is history
I bought Pandora's Box on Switch at the end of July for £30, playing in handheld/ tabletop on an OLED they're pretty good (3 has issues, but meh 😆 ). I tried 1 and 2 on PC when they launched, but these just aren't games for me to lock into, however for "Pick-up, Put-down" they tick all the boxes. 😃
It is my favorite after 2. I really like Tim and Australia's skill tree especially the co-op skills. Your character actually speaking and responding to the npcs makes it feels like you are important to the story. The other games don't really have that.
I actually really enjoyed playing as Timothy in the presequel. It's not like he's just Handsome Jack. He's his own character. That was kind of a weird criticism in my opinion.
Honestly I find it one of the best playable characters in all the franchise. Krieg is my n.1 but Timothy is a close second. Plus he clearly has one of the most broken abilities, Inspire!
Man, BL2 was the peak. What a game... story, villain, open world , and sidequest that were fun to complete. We didnt know how good we had it back then. 💪
Eh, we still got TPS which is good enough for a side studio game. Then BL3 which though it had less up it's sleeve than BL2 was still a very solid game with a lot of DLC.
The pre-sequel has the most fun vault hunters and best DLC in the entire franchise. Also the playable jack is a doppelgänger named Timothy a fairly well fleshed out character. Okay I had to defend that real quick. I understand the other criticisms tho.
Just so you know borderlands 3 already had that level scaling for coop as an option. Cooperation and coopetition. Coopetition was the normal style borderlands and cooperation was so that each player saw enemies scaled at their own level.
Why we remembering them, the series isnt dead its still going to this day, even now a sequel for Wonderlands is being made and the next mainline Borderlands, Borderlands never went away except for the gap between 2 and 3 and even then we had presequel and tales from the Borderlands
I remember seeing so much dislike around TPS, but all my friends and I loved that game. Such great memories and cool abilities. And love that the characters in that became villains in later stories. I didn’t like the story at all in 3, and hope for 4 they go back to the writing and tone of 1.
So awesome that games can mend friendships and create new ones. At least they used to, not so much anymore unfortunately. Such a great time in gaming !
you really should play Tales From The Borderlands. It respects the borderlands universe and vibe so much and has a great story, like it feels truer to borderlands 2 then 3 does
borderlands is such a first experience. its like your first love, but now im married and married to remnant 2. ive lost friend and coming back because of these genre. its been a blast
Man, hearing that Borderlands music in the background really hits me in the memories... I think a huge reason that Borderlands is so iconic and memorable is the music and I don't think that gets acknowledged enough.
The pre sequel was a filler game not to be overplayed forsure and everyone overlooks that it was LITERALLY just to give us a game in between 2 and 3 (and probably set up lore for later games)
I remember when Borderlands came out. I got it as a pure impulse buy and it became my favorite game of that year. Borderlands 2 I was so hyped for before it came out and I loved it even more. I remember playing it with my friend on release day and I had so many friends on XBL playing it. The DLC for Borderlands 1 and 2 was also really good. Zombie Island, General Knoxx, Campaign of Carnage, Assualt on Dragon Keep and some of the headhunter DLC's were awesome. The Pre Sequel was kind of neat too, but a bit bland. Loved that the moon was basically Australia. Borderlands 3 had really fun gameplay but I lost interest, the story didn't pull me in and for some reason the game felt too long.
1 and 2 are classics. Two of my favorite games of all time. I do like 3 also. The bad guys sucked but it was still fun and has good replay value. Looks awesome too. The pre sequel was decent but it’s the one I just can’t do a full replay of. Just not as fun. Sad to hear the movie is trash but not surprised.
I remember getting the platinum with a friends in Borderlands 1 and that game will always hold a special place in my heart because of it. It was my second platinum ever and getting the final trophies with a friend was great. Lilith was my favorite as well, Mordecai being second. I just bought 1 & 2 on steam and I haven't played the DLC in either because I was a broke kid and could only afford the base games at the time.
The first week of 2020 lockdown, I found BL1 sitting on my XBox Gold. Those games kept me going in that crazy year. Currently replaying the Presequel and I still think it's massively underrated in gameplay and writing ❤️ (and the Claptrap DLC!)
Awesome bro. The only borderlands game i ever finished for the story was the forst one. Tried playing co-op with friends on 2 but we never got round to it
