    Quick note from Tony D'Amore:
    "There is a good chance that those(some) amplifiers are on the edge of 1% THD at any power level.
    This was the reason for “uncertified mode” when we designed the dyno. Some dirtier class D amplifiers can’t be tested in certified mode because they are over 1% THD at any level, especially low levels."

      Bc the average person when buying a system is definitely looking for 10k watt amp and probably JL audio W7s subs bc why not ya know.. Might have to sell my vehicle to purchase 10k watts and some average W7s but definitely worth it in my opinion bc I'll have a banging system set up for my next truck bc I don't have a ride at the moment

Over double the amperage that a decent amplifier would. Which means you're getting very dirty crappy power. Surprised you haven't blown speakers yet from distortion.. probably have by now😢

    I put the 6000 model in my daughters car(she just turned 16) to an American Bass Titan 10 ran at 2ohm and its an awesome setup. Amp stays cool, has adjustable boost down to 30hz, I built the box 2cuft tuned to 32hz and its impressive to say the least. Sure these are low end bottom shelf amps, but for $110(6000w model) they put out good power and with the adjustable boost IMO they are the go to for a budget setup that will exceed expectations.

    • @commonsenseisdeadin2024

      @BASSNSANE the difference is negligible and is within the components tolerance however cab opted to short 4 output fets will make the others work harder causing the longevity to be less. I don't know why it didn't count cleanly more then the other but they both struggled. The part you see the missing outputs is dynamic 1ohm when the PA put out like 1000 more Watts

      @BASSNSANE ok.......... I'm just saying to your response that cab didn't modify it, it didn't make more but longevity is compromised by their being less components.

    • @commonsenseisdeadin2024

      @Jimmy the budget builder but the cab was not better. The difference is in components spec or the ever do slightest difference of the preamp potentiometers. However this amp completely stomped the cab dynamically.
      Cab didn't touch the amplifier, cab just opted to not pay for a few components to save money to make more money where power acoustik actually spent more and sell for less (given I'm sure they get a better deal as I'm sure they have a larger discount percentage). Not like cab is known for reliability, the 1600 was a horrible amp and a throw away (literally as any warranty "repair" they ripped your board out and threw a new one in, which is exactly what they do with the 22 and they did same with the 2000.)
      Either way, they both are terrible amplifiers and will fail in short order. But for the price, can't complain nor be surprised, have fun!

    Another great video, thank you sir..
    Didn't make it's rated power except 1ohm dynamic, very nice power there. So the question is, at this price /cost per watt and power is it worth it. At $180-$200 price range? That 1ohm dynamic test though, dang nice.. It's's definitely a contender for a budget amp. Thanks for sharing these tests and those two amps look identical from my view. Clones don't always perform the same.

    Just got this video recommended by UA-cam. Tony explained exactly what I was saying in the comment of the other video where I could see the dyno stop counting up due to much clipping for the given mode while current was still climbing up. Power delivery is simply too dirty to often with some cheap half bridge class D amplifiers and that, for the lack of the better word, confuses the dyno. This doesn't mean that Tonies dyno is bad. It is the best there is. Simply, they didn't take into account that some cheap amps will behave like this. BTW, the amount of output transistors is not the same. This amplifier has 20 while the Cab amplifier has 16. They both have the same amount of components in the power supply section. Though I can't see how many of those are double diodes and how many are the mosfets. Now, in the theory, more transistors in the output stage should be able to provide higher current capability. This might translate to more power. That might be the reason for the music power result as well. Though plain claims like more power transformers mean more power or more transistors means more power or more caps on power rail means more power is often proven wrong by using bad design or bad components. Maybe bad design is a bit harsh to say, but let's call it outdated design. For example, Down4sound JP23 versions 1 and 1.5 use 4 power transformers and are bigger than the version 2 amplifier. Version 2 has only two transformers and still makes more power. Heck, even JP33 is smaller and makes way more power. With the power supply section, the PWM driver board is very important. The same is true with the driver for the class D operation. Often, amplifiers that are designed good, will manage to deliver power even with only 4 caps on the rails. But then they use low ESR high capacity caps. So more components do not translate simply to more power necessary. Never the less potential is there. BTW even same amount of components does not mean same while in same format like TO220 transistors can have way different maximum current rating and power dissipation rating. Even when they are same simple thing as PCB layout and copper layer thickness as well as width of the traces leading to and from transistors and diodes can be different and can limit current delivery. The same size and relatively same looking transformers can be performing way different as well. So at the end only thing that matters is how does it perform and are the components good for long term operation under the higher temperature and stress. Perform meaning power delivery and how it sounds while at the end it is important how does it sounds. Otherwise for burps one could tune up car for 60 Hz and use huge step up transformer into the mains and achive insaine dB numbers without amps or batteries or alternators or ultra/super caps.

That means you're pushing hella distortion. Using twice the power that you have to. Which means no it is not a good product and nowhere near good for the money.. That's exactly what these tests are about. Whether your money is buying a quality product and the whether or not these companies are lying to us about the RMS .. That's why he shows the guts. I got a question. Do you set the gain on the amp like you would if its in a vehicle in between changing the ohm load on the dyno so that way the output voltage is right? Cause I don't see any of you doing that just changing ohm load.
    So let's say if it is 2000 rms at 2ohms you multiply that by the 2 ohms which would be 4000 then find the square root which is around 63.2 volt output to create the 2000 rms etc. Ect. To me it don't make since to change the ohm load and not adjust gain in between to match what it says its rated at

    • @Facekicker
      @Facekicker  3 роки тому +1

      The amp will be set to max clean power no matter what load it sees - how much power varies as a result of impedance, but that won't change or impact where the gain setting should be.

    • @willpollard1110
      @willpollard1110 3 роки тому +1

      @@Facekicker i understand that of the impedance which is why I ask....say it says 2000 rms at 2 ohms you have to multiply that times the 2ohm load then find square root of that which is 63.2 using a digital multimeter to set gain so if I went to 1ohm and at a 1ohm load is 3000 rms the 63.2 would be to high cause multiplying 3000 by a 1ohm is 3000 and the square root of that volt output is 54.77 so if I left it at 63.2 it would clip my subs/amp right? I just really don't understand how the dynos work does it simulate like being in a vehicle or different?

    • @Facekicker
      @Facekicker  3 роки тому

      @@willpollard1110 the voltage output of your amp will change relative to the resistance on the outputs, but if you leave input voltage the same and don't change your gain, the amp won't be driven into clipping.
      If you gain the amp to max clean with a 2 ohm speaker, but then put a 4 ohm speaker on it, the amp will put out lower ACV because of a higher resistance load.
      It won't clip, as long as it was set clean to begin with.
      If you then put a 1 ohm speaker on the amp, the ACV will increase as a result of a lower resistance load, but again it won't be clipping.

      I delayed the video by a week trying to sort it out, only to realize the amp is the perfect example of "dirty power."

    This amp was like $150 when it came out

    Nice, thanks bro! I'd say maybe if that amp was allowed 3% distortion like some Brazilian amps I could see it doing some way better numbers... Awesome review tho...

      Issue with that is the Brazil amps are completely different. We are talking full vs half bridged. Honestly I wouldn't run one of those arc welders if you gave it to me, I don't like electrical fires. A half bridged amp fails and there is smoke and worst case Ontario some fire....a full bridged fails it will pop, throw sparks, shoot fire like a torch and burn your car down.....no Bueno Papi 😏

      @@robsorgdrager8477 Not sure what you read. I wouldn't use a full bridge if I was paid too. Learn to read "Papi"

      @@robsorgdrager8477 no they start on fire cause people are retarded and don't fuse their shit. Full bridge vs half bridge has nothing to do with it, nor does Brazilian. The problem is the cheaper price tags makes it so people who shouldn't run that kind of power (or lack thereof) don't know how to run them. They don't know that it takes that much electrical to supply them (hence my lack thereof comment) . they throw sparks because the components are much more powerful so when they go bang, they bang with more force.

      The reason "Brazilian" amps are 3% like that is because they are full range, not because they are full bridge.
      Many alpine, jbl, JL and kicker amps are full bridge

      @@commonsenseisdeadin2024 The next person under my comment to say Brazilian has to get a Brazilian wax. I never said anything referring to them besides the fact that if this amp was tested at 3% distortion then it may produce better numbers on the dyno.
