Exactly! What I adore about Sabaton is that they do not discriminate when it comes to heroes and badasses. They will tell their story no matter what side of history they belonged to. A hero is a hero no matter which side they fought on, no propaganda can change that! Ultimately it highlights how we are all human after all, all just as fragile and scared. No matter which country you are born in or in what time there will always exist bravery in our hearts to go against the grain to do something truly remarkable, and that is truly inspiring. A hero has no flag, no nation. A hero is universal.

Wait until the day arrives when you realise that your first metal album was obtained more than thirty years before, and that the songs on it were already nearly ten years old. It comes as quite a shock to the system when one notices. It's even *_worse_* when you remember having pretty much the exact _same_ thought a decade (TWO decades) ago. I think back to the younger, prettier Stick that I was, sucking in my cheeks to make my cheekbones stick out, wishing my hair would hurry the fcck up and *_grow,_* and thinking, "Woah! Master Of Puppets came out like, ten whole years ago! How can that be possible? Ten? Like, no way . . . Night Witches is in my opinion one of Sabatons best songs. It makes you feel patriotic. Which is weird since I'm not Russian or former Soviet!! Respect to all our Soviet comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This is still my favorite Sabaton song. This is one of my favorite stories to tell about WW2. I feel like the eastern front as a whole deserves more recognition by the west. But this song showcases what women and the red army are capable of. The amount of stories I can tell from my own family fighting on the eastern front are too many to count. This song always gives me chills and makes me proud to have this in my lineage. Badass Russian female pilots, what else can I ask for? Thank you, Sabaton
Honestly I'm living for it. The only way you can ever get me to learn about history is through music😂😂 (see: hamilton, epic the musical) also my history teacher used to make up songs and stories😂
They've now also released Lyric Videos for "No Bullets Fly" and "Smoking Snakes" in the same animation style, so yeah, I think they're doing the entire Heroes album (But I think you might have figured this out already XD)
Hello from 🇪🇸, This was the first Sabaton song I've heard. My metal passionate friend then started making me love your band, at every song you release I love history more. I know this will just be hided between thousands of comments but if you read this know that Spaniards are a brave population with a huge history of sacrifices, last stands and heroic moments, hope you do a song about us someday!
I love how Sabaton echoes the style and tactics of their subject in their songs, think about it, the night witches approach a target in almost perfect silence. Then all hell breaks loose, after that, they vanish into silence. The songs starts the same way, silent intro bursting into chaos, a short but action packed body, and then silently drifting away....
Пою вместе с вами ))) Sabaton wrote their name into history by turning history into their creativity. You are the best. I sing with you)))
@@williambrennan104 no need to be rude and lump the Russian civilians in with the warmongers of the Kremlin, in fact, many Russian civilians do not support this war.
For these "witches", Stein, the captain of the JG52 Wing of the Nazi Air Force, wrote in his diary on September 2nd of that year: "We really can't believe that the most troublesome thing in the Soviet Air Force is actually women. These women are not afraid of anything. They drive those slow-flying planes to attack us all night! "
Very nice 👍 Do you know the Normandie Niemen regiment? It's a regiment of free French pilots who fought in the USSR on Russian planes, and who meets the night witches. They were the first free Frenchmen to have crossed the German border, two of them were decorated by Stalin himself as heroes of the Soviet Union, is one of the pilots preferred to die rather than abandon his Russian mechanic trapped on his plane when they were changing airports (they were buried side by side on Russian land). They were sentenced to death by the collaborationist French government and by Hitler himself, and won many battles in the Russian skies alongside "Stalin's Falcons" This regiment still exists, it is the most titled French aviation regiment in history.
@@danshivay4007 I don't speak Russian well enough to answer you correctly in your language, but yes, it's in the same spirit. except that the French in the Battle of Britain were fighting on behalf of the Royal Air Force, while the Normandie Niemen was a true Free French squadron. The French patriots have a great gratitude to the Russians for having allowed the French dissidents to fight under the French flag in the Russian sky.
It feels nice knowing that there's someone out there who is paying attention to not only the male combatants of WW2, but also the female combatants as well. These courageous and amazing women deserve much more attention and praise than they're given. Hell, I've rarely seen them being brought up in documentaries or history books! As a side note, these amazing women prove that with the proper training, a woman can do any job as well as a man can do it!
I have always said as a joke that “Soviet history has taught me to never anger Eastern European women as they will fuck you over into the next century.” And the pilots of Night Bomber Regiment 588 is an example as some of their pilots joined up (like most Soviet women.) out of an urge for revenge against the Nazi’s hell one of their pilots explained that she had joined up after witnessing the horrors of the Luftwaffe’s Stuka’s taking out fleeing civilians and want ping to show them what it felt like. Jebus this women were bad ass
The women who fought for Russia are sighted alot by the Left for "gender equality". I'm not denying they existed or their efforts but I have to wonder how much of it was just Russia's way looking at every body it had as "meat for the grinder" Night witches apparantley had very few strategic target runs, IE not flying over enemy territory and mostly flying sabotage missions over battle grounds, which helps don't get me wrong. I'm just wondering how much of their reputation is just fluff.
@@IejirKothar reasonable but I'm willing to give them the reputation because I could believe women back than were a far higher quality than the left today. Plus there was a german pilot titled witch hunter so there is definitely the fear that they put into the germans even if they were useless in the larger strategic plan.

hello from Russia. 🇷🇺 thanks to "radio tapok" group and my dad for bringing me here. i found out "radio tapok" cover in my dad's playlist that played in car and i finally found out original song from cover makers. original and rus cover are epic
Glad to know that you still looking back to this old material, there's a lot of great songs that deserve more attention and this is one of they. Night Witches reminds me the story of Lidia Vladimirovna.
I've been literally brought to tears with this new video. To think of the terrific heroes who fought in that terrible war. The superhuman feats achieved. Those wonderful women and the social and military ideals that brought such victories to fruition. It fills me with an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. And at the same time, I'm saddened by the decline of that great union of lands, that fought and bled for the true freedom of the peoples of the world.
I like the part where they maintained that human rights were what the state used against the individual, to the point that they had a bigger pile of skulls than the rest of the world _combined_ .
Great song, just great. While the Russian Military Historical Society devalues the exploits of our heroes, Sabaton directly and honestly talks about their exploits.
The planes they used were actually a heavy and surprising advantage. Because the wings and body were basically canvas stretched over a wooden frame, bullets didnt' have the same impact--a shot to a metal wing could knock it away or warp it, but for these it just punched a hole in the fabric. That wooden frame also meant that the only metal on the planes was the engines and the bombs, so they were almost invisible to radar. In addition, standard dogfighting doctrine was to tuck in behind your opponent and get close before you fire--and these planes were so slow that you just couldn't do that. You'd overshoot them so fast that you only had time to snap off shots.
I will try to sum up all the comments. After 9 years, this song still only has *one* permitted volume setting. -The whole house can hear it- -The neighbours can hear it- -The whole neighborhood can hear it- -The whole town can hear it- -The whole Eastern Front can hear it- -All of the USSR can hear it- -They hear it all the way to Normandy as the allies land- -It can be heard all the way to the US.- - The volume is so high that it pierces the space-time continuum and the song can be heard throughout space and time.

Ten? Like, no way . . . "
Then, I stop paying attention for a moment and twenty more years sneak their way past, and I'm left wondering where the hell all this grey hair came from?

This is still my favorite Sabaton song. This is one of my favorite stories to tell about WW2. I feel like the eastern front as a whole deserves more recognition by the west. But this song showcases what women and the red army are capable of. The amount of stories I can tell from my own family fighting on the eastern front are too many to count. This song always gives me chills and makes me proud to have this in my lineage. Badass Russian female pilots, what else can I ask for? Thank you, Sabaton

Do you know the Normandie Niemen regiment?
It's a regiment of free French pilots who fought in the USSR on Russian planes, and who meets the night witches.
They were the first free Frenchmen to have crossed the German border, two of them were decorated by Stalin himself as heroes of the Soviet Union, is one of the pilots preferred to die rather than abandon his Russian mechanic trapped on his plane when they were changing airports (they were buried side by side on Russian land).
They were sentenced to death by the collaborationist French government and by Hitler himself, and won many battles in the Russian skies alongside "Stalin's Falcons"
This regiment still exists, it is the most titled French aviation regiment in history.

@@danshivay4007 I don't speak Russian well enough to answer you correctly in your language, but yes, it's in the same spirit. except that the French in the Battle of Britain were fighting on behalf of the Royal Air Force, while the Normandie Niemen was a true Free French squadron.

Normandie Niemen meeting the Night Witches? Now that's a story I'd like to read.
Ye but man's have 95% who really fight woman's only 5%. Most woman's do works in factories and another non battle work.

@@Misaelec7 no they don’t.
The women who fought for Russia are sighted alot by the Left for "gender equality". I'm not denying they existed or their efforts but I have to wonder how much of it was just Russia's way looking at every body it had as "meat for the grinder"
Night witches apparantley had very few strategic target runs, IE not flying over enemy territory and mostly flying sabotage missions over battle grounds, which helps don't get me wrong.

I have no idea how Sabaton makes songs that are enjoyable on max volume. Nobody else has acchieved it.
