- Myst (1993) was a revolutionary game for its time, being one of the first games that lets players explore a large environment on their own. It has been over 31 years since the original game came out, so join me as I play-through the game and discuss how it holds up in 2024.

Myst is an adventure video game designed by Rand and Robyn Miller. It was developed by Cyan, Inc., published by Broderbund, and first released in 1993 for the Macintosh. In the game, the player travels via a special book to a mysterious island called Myst. The player interacts with objects and traverses the environment by clicking on pre-rendered imagery. Solving puzzles allows the player to travel to other worlds ("Ages"), which reveal the backstory of the game's characters and help the player make the choice of whom to aid.
the guy who was helping you sounds annoying
@@zhanorz I 100% agree
🎉🎉😂😂😮😮
Bro I love how u make ur videos like essays its awesome, ALSO I CANT BELIEVE ZHANORAZ INFLUENCED U TOO DO MYST 😭😭
Thank you, but it wasn't Zhanorz who influenced me, he just helped me with it since he had played before
I know where does he get off
This was my first CD game! It was a huge deal! i was 13 years old and it was a very big deal at the time.
@@Pestsoutwest it is a good game and people don't seem to know about it
Oh maaan MYST.. I beat this game %100 on my own when I was like 12 yrs old and am still pretty proud of myself for it :D. Ok... There was ONE thing i had to look up. Literally the very very very last thing you click on. Wasnt even a puzzle, essentially the game was over, it just expects you to know where to go at the end. I heard other people had the same problem so I dont feel too bad, but still annoying i had to look it up after beating the entire game with zero help! lol. Still an amazing game. I got Riven too when it came out, but for some reason i got stuck at one spot and just never picked it up again. Ty for nostalgia trip! /cheers.
Random but, two decades ago or so I was playing a trivia game with some people, and I dont know sh!t about historical politicians, or sports icons or anything, but then one question was like: "this computer game from 1993 about exploring a 3D island was the first game released on CD". I was like I KNOW THIIISS!!! and I answered MYST and nobody knew what the heck I or the trivia game was talking about. was like, hows it feel now! xDD
I don't know what you could mean except how to get the white page. I believe you had to pair two halves of a torn page. I think that is how it worked.
I didn't really look anything up, but I had someone to help me while playing
How come you did not show what happened to the brothers' books? Did you not use the linking book back to the main island?
@@carbumb4229 I just forgot to show it oops
yeah, that navigation was always annoying. Probably by I perfer Real Myst.
I honestly agree, especially with realMyst having the rime age.
hey cheetah, did you myst me?
MYST?!?!?!??!?! MYST?!?!?!?!?!?! MYSTTTTTTTT!!>?!>!>!>!>!>W>?S!S
Just want to point out that you were at 8:10 and not at 8:20. So even if he was right it still would not have worked.
What?
@@Cheetahgamer247 The short hand at the 8 and the long hand at the 4 for 8:20. You had the long hand at the 2. The minutes on a clock go by 5, not by 10. It's cool, my kids can't read time either.
