I'd watch it religiously. My dad would sit me in front of that show and Jeopardy just to show his friends how smart "his boy" was. Heck on Keopardy I could sometimes answer the question before Alex could read them fully.
It amazes me how good accapella doesn't need good lyrics, it's entrancing either way because somehow people manage to make orchestral-level music without instruments
It's amazing, no matter how many times they try to remake this song rockapella's original recording is still the best!
Damn right
Carmen Sandiego...the only time you catch her is when she WANTS to be caught. If she doesn't want to get caught, she doesn't get caught.
Crazy how I heard that song probably 500 times (I taped most episodes lol), and I STILL could not make out 50% of the lyrics! THANKS!
Put those episodes online (if you still have the tapes)
@@ogewuagbese809 oh sadly, those tapes must be LLOONNGGGG gone and turned into dust by now. :( lol
I couldn't tell what some of the lyrics were either lol.
As a Chicago suburbanite with Czech ancestry I felt that bridge personally. From Chicago to Czechoslovakia (which still existed in 1991) and back!
You know the Netflix cover changes the line to 'The Czeck Republic'.
@@legionaireb and rockapella changed it to "Czech and Slovakia" after czechoslovakia dissolved :)
@@j3n0cide No, they changed it to 'The Czech Republic."

I love that The Chief in the Netflix version was not only an African-American woman, but also a holographic head for the first season.
Gunshots? Autocorrect get you? Gumshoes
Anybody remember the game show? Ahhhh... the nostalgia.
Jacob Smith I actually don't but somehow I knew this song anyway. This song has ascended to a part of pop culture, just like the song from Arthur.
Stout Shako true... :/

No, not at all, we came here to look up its theme song for no reason.
I learned all the lyrics with this video

Are you saying that this song doesn't have good lyrics? Because the geography puns in this song are fantastic.
The lyrics are fantastic.
You lost me with this comment. The lyrics are amazing.
Who here would love a kive action Carmen Sandiego movie. I know I would.
These are people that had fun singing this song
I absolutely LOVE THIS SONG! And thanks for the lyrics!
I remember that show Rocapella was the best
Damn these are good puns.
Take it, Rockapella!
Man I always wanted to sing with them! It would be sooooo coooool!
Really Loved This Show And Song
I love the beat to this song :D
You and pretty much anyone who's heard it
Jam Time!
0:47 : I think back then (1991), it was still Czechoslovakia. Other than that, great video! I actually learned a lot! :)
Bro I just put the lyrics on a screen, I didn't write them😂
It's written as Czeck AND Slovokia to reflect the breakup.
When the show debuted in 91 it was still Czechoslovakia they changed it after they split in 93
One of the best parts of my childhood!!!!!!!
Great job, but bad font color choices
This is one awesome song! =) =) =)
I like how in the netflix versions she's stealimg from VILE rather than working for them. And still teaching stuff along the way.
I think it should be Czechoslovakia
Ray Pimentel i think you should look up a map of the world in 1993
It was, until the country split into Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then they changed the lyric.
@@casedinlight and now the Czech Republic is Czechia.
@@pohldriver It's both The Czech Republic and Czechia. Like "The People's Republic of China" and "China" are the same thing.
@@pohldriver good for them lol
Songs catchy as the clap yo
Kick-ass theme song!
My favorite part of the show.
Ah my youth
Awesome
It's Amazing they still havent found me
I’m actually from Arkansas.
Is that really the lyric? "a slow boat to china?"
Yes, it actually is that.
'A slow boat to China' is an old expression meaning anything that takes a long time. They just used it because it fit the song.
Ooooh the cheese ooh ooh ooh ooooh the cheese
The Chief
Pretty sure they said Czechoslovakia, not Czech and Slovakia. I don't think they were even separated when this song came out
100%
They did say Czechoslovakia originally, but when they separated they changed it to Czech and Slovakia.
@@RC-uf5xm In the interactive special, they change it to "The Czech Republic"
If you listen to it closely it is definitely Czech and Slovakia. Again, I did not write the lyrics I just put them on the screen.
I think they changed it for the second season
Are they really saying Oahu? Or are they just hooting? Cuz it really sounds like hooting to me.
Oahu! ❤❤
They chose Oahu BECAUSE it sounds like 'Wahoo!'
No, but she did hang around with Rockapella during her college years.@@Superlad945
very good music vidio
I wish these channels that had lyrics with the music would learn that the lyrics need to be on the screen before they're being sung.
Hit it rockapella
Were in the world is Carmen Sain Deigo
MUH CHIIILDHOOOOOOOD!
Do it Rockapella!
My friends dad is the one with the deep voice in rockapella
