    Great introduction. Fills in the gaps in a very straight forward manner using a simple example.

    Please help-4. Bone density can be measured using a DEXA test. Bone density for a 25-year-old woman is normally-distributed with a mean of 956 g/cm2 and a standard deviation of 5.52 g/cm2. Let X be the bone density of a randomly selected 25-year-old woman in g/cm2.

    But how do you plot the pdf in the first place, you said you 'll draw it first and then explain but never did. Thanks though

    I have read that distance between two places is continuous variable, then why the P(continuous variable) is 0. Since distance between two places can be exact value.

      Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you'd try to divide that by an infinite amount of "exact" values, you would get 0.

      distance between two places can be exact, but the measurement of this distance will never be.

    Question: If there is a 0% chance that a random single sample from a large population is exactly 1.73m, then how do i grow past it. to grow i must pass every number that is ahead of me. This means that at one point in my life, i am exactly 1.73m and therefore isnt there a chance that you can sample a person who is 1.73m. The chance is low, but possible. No?

    • @surbitonmaths6361
      @surbitonmaths6361 6 років тому

      It's all about the difference between discrete and continuous numbers. If all of the values of the population are measured to 2 decimal places then 1.73 could be considered discrete so there is a non-zero probability that a single sample could contain 1.73, it would be very small. If no rounding is done then every number in the population has an infinite number of decimal places (continuous), so there's an infinite number of values. In this case the probability of selecting any particular value is zero. It's more about the theory than the practice.

    Sir, can you help me how to get this answer? 👇
    The probability that it is sunny in a day is 0.30 and the probability that a student wears a hat is 0.65. The probability that it is sunny or the student does not wear a hat is 0.46. If it is a sunny on a particular day, find the probability that the student does not wear hat.
    Answer: 19/30
