    The normal distribution is the most famous and common distribution in science and mathematics. In a few minutes, we will deep dive into its PDF, CDF, and PPF variants.

      Hello and thank you for the content.
      I bought your book (essential math for data science)from AMZ on kindle but it has trouble displaying the formulas, any idea to fixe that?

    Holy crap this was good. So intuitive.

    This is literally the best video I've came across that let me intuitively understand not only Normal Distributions, but especially PDFs and CDFs, along with PPFs that I didn't know about.

    This is beautifully done! I can imagine a time (not long from now) when these presentations can be made interactive with an AI that can alter these graphics and explanations to respond to student questions. That will be quite an exciting time for education.

    I'm not a mathematician but I have had to pick up a lot of this skill - probability is beginning to make sense.

    If you increase sigma you show a platykurtic kurtosis, shouldn't a platykuirtic have a lower sigma?

    is the x axis z score for normal distribution?

    • @3-minutedatascience
      @3-minutedatascience  5 місяців тому

      The Z-scores are the x-axis but only after the standard deviation has been scaled to 1, and the mean has been scaled to 0. If I have time I'll make a video about this.

    The music in this video is distracting. I'd say get a better microphone and turn the music down.

    at 2:30....why is looking at likelihood NOT meaningful in itself ?

    • @3-minutedatascience
      @3-minutedatascience  Місяць тому

      I will make a video about this later, but the probability of getting EXACTLY 61.53 pounds... is 0%. In continuous variables, decimals can have an infinite number of decimal places, driving any specific value to have a probability of 0. You have to look up ranges of areas to get probabilities instead.
