You guys are literally second to none when it comes promoting this hobby. I’ve said it before but there’s no doubt that it’s mostly y’alls fault that half of my house is completely overrun with flying machines and everything required to operate and maintain them. Thank you both for everything you do to educate and help us make the best decisions for our skill levels. Merry Christmas to the whole fam!
Getting back into the hobby is awesome man glad to hear that
Thank you so much for your second review on this one. You prodded me enough to go out and buy one a couple batts and a new Nx6. I am jumping back into the hobby after more years than I want to admit. Got it setup ready to fly in the time it took one of the batts to charge and got a flight in before dark off of the frozen pond on wheels. Up and down clean on the mains. Man can this thing tumble! This is going to be a fun little plane for sure. The TX was a bit of a learning curve to program since my last one was a 8103. But once I learned the menus I was all good. Thanks for the advice. The wife even ordered a blade nano s3 for me for my birthday coming up while we were at the hobby shop. Thanks again and keep up the great reviews.
My brand new TimberX umx has about half a pound of tape and foam 2 foam on it now. But, I'll have it flying tomorrow without ordering any new parts (yet). All thanks to you and that awesome camera crew. Thanks guys. I had no idea how much fun this hobby is 👍
Thanks Al!!! It is a BLAST, and so glad you're with us!!!
This plane is amazing !! Still to this day it's one the most durable and capable airplanes. Set up my 6e like you did in your first video of this plane.. your channel has been very helpful.
Thank you so much !!
Thank you, camera crew, too.
Camera Crew is amazing at filming, hands down! Awesome video as always Brian. Please make sure to relay my message to her please. Thanks for sharing your flying.
Love the UMX Timber X 👍🏻 I done a touch and go off the power lines yesterday with my AeroScout. My wife said Brian Phillips would be proud 😆🤣 I had a throttle cut hit the power lines bounced off saved it and came in for a decent landing. I was shocked 😲😆🤣
Nice flying Brian 👍🏻✌🏻
That is one bad little plane. It did it all and with authority. Love the paint scheme on this one. 2S or 3S is a bonus. I love slow flight as much as any. Just puttering around, so 2S is ok. But to have 3S if you want or need it? All the better. Brian you are an awesome pilot and an inspiration. Thank you Sir.
It is, BUT like I mentioned on our other side conversation, she is JUST more capable, and so it's a better value in my opinion, BUT JUST SO....not a huge difference, and if you want more conventional, NON-3Dish flight performance, the Turbo Timber UMX is the way to go. IT IS one of the best UMX planes - hands down.
Just bought this and 2 batteries from your link. Thanks for all your great content as always!
Man I've yet to get this one. Been thinking about tho. I kinda wanna have it to put in my work van. That way if the weather permits it. I could fly on my lunch or when I'm waiting on a system to wash up when I do an install haha. Nice flyin and great job camera crew!
Brilliant video, as always , great encouragement, thanks Brian and Megan for this fantastic channel.
Quand un petit avion exceptionnel tombe dans les pouces d’un virtuose !! C’est un feu d’artifice 💥💥💥
When an exceptional little plane falls into the thumbs of a virtuoso!! It's a fireworks display 💥💥💥
I put floats on this model, and they work great. Still has a ton of 3d capabilities with them on. I'm waiting for snow to see how well they work on it.
Nice! Should be sweet for winter ops, with snow down!
Nice flying. Way to gave that wing a quarter of an inch off the ground while turning. That looked sweet. 👌
cool little plane and great flight
I do like Mine... but I Love the UMX TT but my style is more Scale flying!
I want to pick this up, if I bind it to my radiomaster tx16s will safe mode still work?
Hey Brian, I know you didn't show set up in this video. Would it be possible to show your TX screen next time when you set up a new plane so we can see what you doing? BTW, how did you get your wife involved in the channel? Thanks again for another cool video
I have one and I fly it at my house at 6:00 am!
She'd fit in my boat.
Marina flier.
Gotta love "Safe."
Timber X, the new MCU leader of the X-Dronz...
Hello, do you think if I use old RC control DX6i which compatible with this model ?
Hi Brian, do the nav lights qualify for night flying? They seem pretty small and somehow I doubt they would show 3 miles away...but that would be really great if they did!
I want one. Got the t timber umx witch is a great little plane also . This looks like a good step up
Amen to Winter Solstice being tomorrow. Diane and I were just talking about that at dinner tonight. But it’s going to be a wicked few days starting tomorrow. Brutal cold coming in. Bring in the brass monkeys.
I'm soooooo ready!!!
@brianPhillipsRC new subscriber and love the long videos, algorithm be dammed! - UMX Timber X or UMX Waco - which would you buy over the other? Got back into the hobby this year and looking for a UMX to fly indoors over the winter (and a few nice days outside hopefully).
Welcome!!!
Flying the Timber UMX would be better than the Timber X indoors, in my opinion, but the Waco will slow down even
better! If you're going to fly them inside, the Waco UMX would be a pick.
bprc.me/Timber - Same link for the Timber UMX and Timber X UMX - Both are GREAT, but the Timber UMX will slow down better, with the LONGER wings ;)
bprc.me/Waco - AWESOME in so many ways!!!!!! Indoor flight would be amazing. We might film a flight indoor too, but that isn't planned out just quite yet, so don't hold me to it ;)
Just got my UMX timber x in the mail yesterday, the decals look like some drunk installed them. Quallity control doesn't exist anymore.Sad..
Great motivational speech!
If I was going to pick one plane, I’d have to choose the Timber X at the moment. Two battery size options. Plus it is just such a beautiful plane. But one of the biggest selling points for me is the ground handling effects. I could watch you fly this a long time. But when it’s all said and done? I’d rather watch myself flying it 😂. Plus it would be a big upgrade from the old Park Zone Champ I have.
Nice flight!
I LOVE this plane! I'm addicted to landings and scale take offs on grass then hoying it about in the air a bit. What would you suggest as next one up, for similar bush plane STOL type but a bit bigger?
you can tell it's an old video, power lines are still up,lol.great job guys,I have one and haven't flown it yet, been pretty busy, just bought my old Champ 7ac back after 22years,lol-Rick from Delaware
haha,1 min later in video you bring that up,lmfao
Brian, bro, can you tell me the difference between the timber x and the turbo timber evolution? Backstory: have the Umx voodoo as a trainer for the 1.2 Corsair… now need a trainer for the voodoo.. can you clarify the distinguishing factors between the two Timbers?
Love your vids dude, you are the Jack Black of RC!!
YES - The Turbo Timber Evolution is a 1.5m Wingspan, and way more tame than the Timber X 1.2m, which is smaller and more crazy.
Both good, but for a beginner, 1.5m will be better.

@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks.. I should have specified I am evaluating the UMX versions of the timber cousins.
Dark at 4:30pm in Eau Claire, Wisconsin 🤮
Winter solstice is TOMORROW!!!!!!! YEAH - finally, the shortest day will be behind us!
Wednesday, December 21
Have you tried 4s yet..its fricken awesomeness
Would you say this model is a good one for beginners? I like the idea of flaperons for low-speed beginner flight. Is it EPP foam? I bought a Eachine T28 400mm based on yours (and others') YT videos. Sadly it was DOA (rudder locked full left), and I'm in the process of returning it to BG in China. I have an E120S RTF heli in-bound and wonder if the supplied E6 transmitter could be used for this Timber. (BTW: congratulations on the newly-powerline-free field!)
Wow! Super acrobatic!
I use FLAPERONS and SPOILERONS it is absolutely sick!! Awesome video.
Really great flying Brian! I assume you are flying on 100% rates and your normal 30% expo all around (if memory serves)?
Very nice.
THE ULTIMATE HOBBIE
Sure is!
Just bought a new UMX timber X. Trying to set up flaperons, one flaperon goes up and one goes down. I tried reversing one of the servos, but did not help. I have a spectrum DX 6E transmitter. Anyone ever come across this issue with flaperons and how do you solve it?
There's different setup on the DX 6E, and I'm not sure how it works. Since I don't know for sure, I don't want to mislead you. This might be an item to hit up the manual on...follow the link, like you're gonna buy one, then scroll down, and the manual is there...you need to follow the OTHER set of instructions...not the NX instructions, if I remember right.
Unfortunately, I had to return mine. The right aileron servo failed on my second flight. I am not a fan of the servos they use on the umx line.
I am sorry to hear that happened to you man. But I have 2 UMX Timber X's,a UMX Turbo Timber, and UMX a10,and none of mine have had a servo fail. The regular turbo timber has at least 60 flights on it,and I have literally crashed it into my house to where the motor was dangling, and both sets of slats broke off,and it still works. I'm thinking you either had a fluke,or set the servo travel past 100.
@justinryan9417 I have the UMX Turbo Timber and the UMX A10 that don't have issues. The Timber X must have been a fluke, but when I returned it, to Hobbytown, the manager took it back without question and knew exactly what was wrong and that they'd been seeing this issue. I used it as credit and got an Eratix. I think I'm done with the UMX stuff though.
What is corn hole?
It's a "real" maneuver that I renamed by mistake.
What's a Turbo Tmber X?? Time stamp 2:40
I have these 800Mah LiPo 3S 11.1V Batteries left over from previous UMX Planes, I'm not buying this UMX Plane because of the inconsistencies ...It's a waste of money to not have the UMX include the older type batteries...Not buying any of them!
My leftover batteries can not be used in these planes either....
Those batteries would work fine the the UMX A10. I got one for Christmas, and lucky me,the 3 batteries I have for a plane from 5 years ago (non Eflite) work great in it. I mean really... they would work in any 3s plane that they meet the minimum recommended MAH for-as long as you manage to get the CG correct. The only downside to our toys is that unlike a real aircraft, they land just as heavy as they took off!
awsome
100%
damn you can really fly buddy
I found it flat spins better with full elevator up and full left rudder. Check it out Brian.
I guess the timber turbo, being way more powerful than this, a 3300 motor vs this which has like under 2k I believe, must of been to good of a plane for HH to keep selling?
I'm unsure why they would even release this vs the TT?
LOL I take off and land on a packed gravel driveway.
Nice! Do you have issues with the wheels catching and "chocking" and flipping the nose down?
@@BrianPhillipsRC every now and then but not usually. The more packed the gravel is the better.
I also have a dirt runway it works great on as well.
You have the best camera crew but you dis her alot..
Megan is great, but you don't understand the complete context of what's going on in our videos. Simply put, you don't see it all, and Megan and I do have a very direct way of communicating, especially while flying and filming. We definitely have an understanding.
Do me a favor. Try recording a single 5 minute video with you wife (or significant other), and see how many times you "dis" him or her. Now, when you think you have it near perfect, put in on UA-cam for people who don't necessarially have your best interest at heart to watch and critique, and see what comes back in your face - are you connecting the dots yet??? Now do that maybe 1800 more times, and then multiply the length of footage by 30-40 times (our average length of video) and see what people pick up on.
I'll be the first to admit, I'm not perfect and need to improve in many way, up to and including treating my wife and family better (but who doesn't!!!), and we take a ton of criticism on our channel on anything form my flying, technical and communication skills, and a plethora of other things...I like to think we handle it pretty well, but I/we don't take well to when people who DON'T know any better suggest that I treat my wife, and best friend poorly.
