Lavabending makes sense for it the be a branch of earthbending. If you can control the molecules in rocks, then you can create friction, which creates the heat needed to turn rocks into lava. Just like when waterbenders turn water into steam or ice. I don’t think they’re controlling the temperature as much as they are rearranging the molecules.
I noticed sound as a sub-branch for air. That requires moving molecules in the air. I’ve never seen this, but I think it would be very useful for spies or a means to trick your opponent.
I think deep down, all, and I said again, ALL, of Avatar's fans knew deep down that all elements are equal. No one can be more powerful than the other (except bloodbending, which is why it's banned, hahaha..) .
no Mako countered it by electrocuted Amon, and Amon is a very special strong bender, fires is overpowered by water but lightning beats water, as well as blood bending since 1 finger is enough, and when the electrocuting starts its over for the bloodbender
9:34 But that one old lady who blood bended was able to pull water straight from the air and also Katara was able to use her sweat to break out of jail. Water is more accessible than most benders realize.
That still heavily relies on skill, most average water benders ain't sucking moister out of plants. Katara had to carry around a supply prior to learning it. The whole point of the accessibility point in the video is to say how water and earth are more on supplying themselves with their elements than say a fire bender that can just make some
You can only do that if there is alot of humiditiy in the air...If the air is dry like a desert than where will water bend off the air...It will be EXTREMELY difficult
I do think it's likely that lava bending is related in some way to fire bending, because Bolin, an earth bender with Fire Nation heritage and a very energetic and passionate personality, was able to lava bend. It is likely that, for an earth bender to be able to lava bend, they need to borrow from the philosophy and style of fire benders, similar to how lightning bending was developed by mimicking the style of water benders and applying it to fire bending.
Slight correction: Lightning generation as a whole wasn’t developed through the studies of waterbending, only lightning redirection. And as of now, the fire nation heritage fact still holds merit, as the two non-Avatar lava benders we know of either have completely unknown heritage, or are of Fire Nation Descent.
Im sure its a matter of personality. Metal bending is bending the bits of earth present in metal, it requires mastery and precision. Lava banding is a big scale, destructive technique, where earth gets heated up. Bolin is a powerful earthbender, just not a dexterous one. At least thats how i understood it from the show.
I’m almost convinced it’s genetic which is weird since we’ve never seen sub bending be genetic but tbh i just hate lava bending, where blood bending is regulated by the fact that it was only useable during the full moon until the writers ruined the balance their world had by making it possible without a moon at all lava bending can be done at any moment on such a large scale with no way to fight against it besides being a blood bender and the only possible restriction is that it takes a kid of mixed birth and we’re still not even sure about that i loved Korra as an avatar (i prefer her greatly to Aang) but the nuance of bending definitely took a dive during her series which is unfortunate, i really wish the guy and his wife who were behind the great story in ATLA had come back for Korra
Both inherited the ability from their father, even after Aang took his bending away if a recall correctly... full genetic passing of the ability and later training, or maybe they just trained too much, they don't explain that in the series.
Well I mean Katara did blood bending without a moon too when she found the general that killed her mom. The difference with Amon and Tarlok (and their father Yakon) was that they can do it basically telepathically and not needing to essentially bend in the traditional sense. They can just think it and can control blood which is far more scary in practice
I think Ghazan's first display of Lavabending shows a great explanation of how exactly Lavabending works. Unlike Water to Ice which seems to happen magically, Earth to Lava is more physical. Ghazan applies pressure to the rock making it denser, then spins it around really fast. The increase in temperature is a result of applying lots of pressure and friction into the rock which converts it to lava.
9:01 actually quick correction about that, the air benders used to all fly freely, until they fell in love with the flying bison. They actually gained an earthly attachment and lost their free flight and now need the gliders. Also their arrow tattoos are directly inspired by the flying bison fur patterns.
Im glad you pointed that out! In lok when we get to see early air nomads, their tattoos resemble Celtic symbols instead of arrows. I think the arrow also represents constant movement or change, which suits their nomadic style and mimics the air bison at the same time. Such a good detail.
Ayo one more thing you missed because it gets missed by a lot of people. Bonebending. Taught to Avatar Kyoshi by the Assassin and member of the flying opera company... "Lao Ge" there is this quote which is basically what he taught to Kyoshi. "Aging is just the body refusing to put itself back together" if you bone bend yourself, if you fix yourself... you can live longer. It's how Avatar Kyoshi lived for 230 years. And Lao Ge even had a decent run too. I also assume that bone bending can be used as a similar way to blood bending though.
The water benders having better feats makes sense and doesn’t actually debunk this video, The air nomads are all dead The fire benders relied most on military, strategy, numbers and technology The earth benders relied on there giant wall. The water benders on the other hand relied solely on there bending, there super traditional and if you’re constantly using bending instead of all the stuff I mentioned as you’re first and last resort it makes sense why it would be so developed and why so many techniques would be discovered. The show highly implies all elements have identical potential but some elements are closer to said potential do to the reasons I just mentioned.
@@elcalabozodelandroide2 healing is cool, but Air Bending can fly and has dura neg that can rupture organs, which is much more potent than bloodbendinh
For me my favorite water bending move was when katara was using octopus arms, earth - the armor, wind - when aang made that mini wind tunnel for katara and sokka to put rocks in. Something I'd do for snow ball fights, fire is when iroh had the sozins buff and destroyed ba sing se wall.
don't forget about lavabending for earthbenders! might be more of a controlling the mollecules of their respective elements. increasing molecular movement increases heat, melting the earth, slowing the molecules removes heat, freezing water into ice.@@no0o0ot74
@@BorchikYes well changeing the temperature makes way more sense then changeing the pressure, and it's the most common and normal way to turn water to ice or steam. Useing any other method would be way harder and unlikely then temperature, therefore heat and cold. Also this one makes more sense since water is supposed to be about change, so changeing from hot to cold, from heat to coolness makes perfect sense for them.
Yes, but you can’t deny that there is definitely a genetic component to who can bend and/or what element they can bend. It’s quite possible that lava bending requires having a firebending ancestor in order to have the potential to even use it, or that firebending ancestry can provide an earthbender with a genetic predisposition for lava bending that’d make it much easier for them to learn/master.
@@zephanimz I always thought lavabending is more like how waterbenders can turn water into ice and the other way around. If you are skilled enough you can manage the heat state of the element. I wouldn't be suprised if in the next generation lavabending would become a more common skill kinda like what happened with metalbending
Or maybe an airbender with a bad attitude...😂 Yeah, the "be like the water" philosophy (isn't just a Bruce Lee thing, it's as old as martial arts) is great.
@@spiker.ortmann well I guess we all should just be lucky Bruce lee existed and was able to share his martial arts knowledge to us before he died. If not we might have had to wait even longer and just be stuck with plain old karate. I mean I don’t have a problem with karate but it would be better to widen your horizon though right?
Love the video! I would like to add that katara did learn to use the water out of her own body to bend by sweating. She also learned to pull water from the air and plants while learning how to blood bend.
I thought of it being that in order to create and shoot lightning, fire benders need to allow the energy/lightning to flow inside of them like water and discharge it like fire. With water, I can see its style being very adaptable in any element, sort of a “dodge, charge, project” style
I would love to see sound bending as another tipe of sub-bending for the air element. I have alredy seen some concept videos by a few animators here on yt, and i think it's so cool
In real life. Air and water would be the most powerful and versatile ones. Earth and fire would just be too destructive irl, and in most cases outside of battle… impractical
Fire and earth are my favourite. I like the way zuko bends fire, taking inspiration from all the other elements just like his uncle said he did to learn lighting redirection. And I love bolin lava bending that's so cool
Everybody understimate fire-bending because almost never a fire attack hits directly a opponent, Whenever a fire attack hits the opponent, he comes to protect himself with his own element. I only remember 5 times in the first series (the last air-bender) where we could see a firebending attack hit someone directly, and in 4 of them he was knocked out (the exception is when Zuko burns Thop's feets)
7:10 the reason very little amount of earthbenders can lavabend but literally all waterbenders can icebend that its not even considered it a subbending literally that it has nothing to do with fire but I guess you can make the argument that theyre both hot and I guess I’ll give you that one because Im too tired to argue over something this small
The way you describe fire as being about well controlled but powerful attacks, and control just being a big part of it really helps me understand it, same for the way you described air as being going with the flow, following path of least resistance and using enemys strengths and movements against them Like all this was in the show but something about exactly how you worded it all made me understand airbending and fire bending a lot better
Cap fire is the weakest this dude is just a fire bender fan boy The only reason the fire benders took over is because they have the strongest people, not element The air nomads where the weakest ppl but had the strongest element
@@bomis9630 that's absolutely makes no sense your contradicting your own statement how can a be strong and weak at the same dude just shut the fuck up and stop embarrass yourself
Fire is incredibly destructive, but the reason it seems “weak” is because it’s very easily counteracted by air specifically. Seeing as Aang is our protagonist, we see him battle fire benders quite often and he wins pretty easily. That and, the fact that air nomads have the strongest, most intelligent fighters. When we see fire benders battle any other element, it’s pretty evened out. I noticed the reason the fire nation is so powerful is because of the fact that they value the skills and abilities of non benders the way other nations don’t. Most of their mechanics and incredibley advanced technology for the 1800s were made by made by non-benders.
@@bomis9630 Did we watch the same avatar? Aang whooped everyone ass without even trying. Air benders have the best fighting style, they were just incredibley outnumbered. Even then, each monk caught 20+ bodies and had the ability to decapitate their opponents using pressureized air. that’s with Sozin’s comet AND fire breathing dragons. Keep in mind there’s only about 5-10 adults in a single temple, most of temple population were kids.
@@bomis9630 air nomads werent weak they were pacifist and got wiped because the fire nation drew power from the comet, and fire is a really powerfull element since they can create their own in any place and create lighting.
I'm not sure how they're equal. Firebenders can generate and bend fire. All other Benders can only bend their element of water, earth or air. If they could generate and bend it like Firebenders then it a start.
@SS-rf1riWhile yeah, I think that creating fire in general just gets harder the colder it is. In the North Pole against Katara, his fire blasts are visibly smaller than normal. Secondly, if firebending worked as normal in the cold, the coolers in the Boiling Rock would be obsolete. While it is true that fire _can_ be bent in the cold, it’s implied that doing so is a higher-level technique.
@SS-rf1riNot everyone knows that technique. The real way to fire bend was lost with the sun warriors. The only two people who know how to do that are Iroh, and Zuko.
Yeah but realistically where on earth wont you find air or water? Its everywhere. Water is the best in a fight. Not sure about its daily uses tho depends on the context of what you need
Just some of my own thoughts on firebending: Firebending is not simply about heat. Firebending is the generation of energy and control of energy. Fire, is just the most accessible form of energy on Earth, of plasma. Energy can exist as heat and as light, two properties that fire has. Back to the first two defining qualities to firebending, this is why breathing is important for it. The generation of energy in our bodies and our ability to control our usage of the energy in our bodies comes from our breathing. This is evident in how metabolism and oxygenation works as well as how breathing is very important for performance in any kind of physical activity. Firebending is about generating energy and controlling it, just like the breath, and just like the breath, fire is our key to life and presence within it. (Just like the Solar Plexus/Manipūra/Fire Chakra, which Iroh affectionately called the Sea of Qi (Chi).)
to be fair I think if we include the sub bendings fire is the weakest, and earth is probablly the strongest, because lighting can be redirected, lavabending and metal bending is overpowerd, it's extreamlly hard to keep a metalbender locked up, airbenders can suck the air out of anyone, can't fight if you can't breath, and waterbenders have acess to water everywhere, if not from the air moisture, plants, or a body of water, their own sweat. Also I don't think I need to mention bloodbending (although it can only be done on a full moon for all but one blood bender)
Supposedly the creators said that earth benders get a buff during earthquakes, and other seismic events. Still nothing for airbenders, but if I had to guess, it would be storms and tornadoes, hurricanes etc.
I had a theory that earthbending would be stronger with special gravity like in the desert But later I learned that it gets stronger near fault lines so it is still half true For air it is spirituality and detachment as shown with zaheer and kyoshi's mother hers got weaker when she wasn't as spiritual anymore
I have been thinking abt this for a rlly long time. if u watched the scene where fire lord sozin helped avatar roku on the volcano, u can see him heatbending. js like a how waterbenders can bloodbend, maybe firebenders can bend the body heat too which is very cool and makes fire equal to bloodbending(water), bonebending (earth) and breathbending(air) . maybe one day the avatar writers will invent it for the next avatar series which is genji HOPEFULLY. and if that rlly happens, maybe the firebenders will use it to burn a person or take the heat out of them easily.
Also, if you look at Sozin’s hands, you can see they they are simulating lightning bending. In lightning being, lightning goes into one hand and out the other. Sozin was able to make the steam go into one hand and out the other. Maybe that was an early form of lighting bending.
This is a perfect analysis on the elements. It's interesting to mention that I've heard a fire bender and earth bender together can make a child that has lava bending capabilities. I wonder what other sub-elements can come from mixing the elements. Like, even though aang and Katara had three kids, one is a water bender and the others are air benders. What else could come of air and water that would make a sub-elemenral combination?
Also, I think each of the elements have at least one type of bending that is super OP and can instant kill. Water- blood bending. Air- sucking the air out of someone’s lungs. Earth- doing that thing that guy did to katara to trigger aangs avatar state, where it basically buried her underground. Fire- never seen this, but I’m assuming fire benders could actually form fire inside someone’s body if they wanted to. I mean, we’ve seen jeong jeong create a giant wall of fire at a far distance from himself, so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to just create fire inside someone’s body and burn their insides lmao. That got dark😂
That last one is interesting. I dont see why it wouldnt work but i think we shouldnt include stuff like it because it would never happen in the show. Like people saying a waterbender could snap your neck or make you bleed out. Sure, but avatar wouldnt ever include that.
fire’s sub-bendings are both the deadliest in the series outside of blood bending (in terms of a direct confrontation). not even Aang was safe from lightning bending and combustion bending can blow up entire pillars of rock with ease.
i have smth to say at 9:45. Hama(the old lady who taught Katara how to bloodbend), she showed katara that water is EVERYWHERE. even air. so i think that goes for earth only.
Fire does have a great advantage over the other three elements, it can be operated without the corresponding materials. Even air bending need air to work, but fire benders can likely still use heat when there's no air to support the flame.
I would love to be a water bender. I’d be riding a surf board around every single lake in the world haha. The water looks so beautiful, can change it to ice bullets, ice walls, flood the area to drown many opponents, pull the water from their eyeballs haha. So many uses, oh and also cooking haha
In general it all depends on the situation, and mastery. Most people go for the versatility of the bending which makes it apparently the best type of bending.
I hate the idea that benders can control the tempature of their element. Controlling heat is more related to fire specifically and it just feels removed from bending the element. I prefer to interpret changing the state of the element as changing the arrangement of its molecules or changing its structure rather than heating and cooling it. I also wish to see waterbenders bending vapours, this can be like a loght version of airbending like icebending is similar to earthbending.
if I could choose an element I'd choose water. I just love how it looks and I seriously think it has so many important real world applications, like healing, imagine becoming an emergency paramedic because you can literally heal wounds with just water. I could also be a great firefighter, or provide clean water to villages that need it... Not to mention all the other nice things I could do with it, like just drinking water out of the humidity in the air whenever I'm thirsty, or easily cool down my drink when it's warm, or just have a really fun time at the beach/pool/shower
Gyatso also did the asphyxiation technique in a much larger scale, albeit at his own life's expense. Notice that at the pile of bones with the Fire soldiers and Gyatso's body, his monk robe had no scorch marks. Fire needs Air to be fueled, without it... It will not work. As Gyatso was cornered in the room... He forcibly removed the air and formed an Air barrier to prevent any passage of ventilation, suffocating everyone, even himself.
Do u guys like 2 imagine how u would b as the avatar - at least how well u will control each element? I think I’d b obsessed with water bc of its versatility but it’d actually b my least natural element bc I’m very bad @ adjusting. I rlly want 2B a waterbender but I’d b better @ earth or air. I’m simultaneously direct & a free (chaotic) spirit so I can imagine using either or both depending on my mood/mindset. I think, oddly, fire would come out when I’m emotional/sad bc I’m so passionate through my emotions. &, lastly, I think bc I’m probably so unconventional, I’d probably take up non-traditional bending arts like sandbending & foggy swamp - not just bc I’m trying 2B “quirky” but bc I think it’ll suit my skills better with how mixed their style is.
I’m just inviting yall 2 think of a fun story if u COULD control the 4 elements 🤗 It’s good 2B honest about ur weaknesses. Like, yknow, I’d wish I was born in a waterbending family but I’d honestly b terrible @ it or I might just end up a non-bender 😅
I would always talk about this with my cousin but if I was the avatar my best ability would be fire and earth would be a close second. It’s most definitely fire tho because I’m super passionate but sometimes to a fault and I can get in my own head. Earth ending would be strong for me because I can be very stern, direct and stubborn at times. The element that would take the longest for me to master because I struggle with adapting too. If something were to not go as planned I need a minute to adjust. I really don’t have any qualms with airbending, I go with the flow but I’m not passive at all so I would be probably average at best. I do think that it’s cool that you mentioned sub bending tho because one of my friends said that I would be a lava bender lol
Someone made a very good point. All benders have certain conditions that block their ability to bend. But Earth has like 3 or 4 scenarios where they can’t do shit! That kinda made sense
I have to disagree respectfully. Fire bending is easily the weakest as it lacks defense and so you need to be able to dodge attacks without your bending for it to be useful. Also water bending is op mainly because of blood bending.
I believe Ghazan is a ancestor of Haru's village. Haru bent coal no imagine if haru applied the fire breath technique that Katara used to unfreeze herself, and that Tenzin explains air benders can also do.
Lava bending being Earth makes sense cause lava in real life is created from pressure and friction from the Earth itself. Fire benders may be able to bend the heat from lava/magma, but the lava itself is still molten rock/Earth. Otherwise, great vid.
You make something pressurised or vibrate enough, and it will heat up. Eath benders being able to lava bend or bend molten metals makes sense. Also, what minerals do earth benders control exactly? Because you know, calcium is a mineral, and your bones kinda have calcium in them.
I heard that the creators confirmed that bone bending isnt rlly possible in the same way blood bending is because its too pure or something??? Not earthy??? Idk what earthy is though so
@@meria2082 Yeah. I have no idea what technically counts as "Earth bending." Because if you simply say they bend minerals, then you have like over 10,000 to choose from. Including platinum. And them not being able to bend platinum is just down to it being too "pure," which is never elaborated on. If what they could bend was based on how common certain minerals are, then extremely rare and pure ones would be much harder to practice on and bend. However, platinum seems to be common enough in the Avatar universe to build armies of mechs. Out of every type, earth bending is the most vague with it's definition.
From what we have seen, Fire is probably the weakest. It is as effective as air in offense, since we barely see any people burned. It has weak mobility unless you are the best of the best. Weakest defenses for sure.
Bloodbending is op though. There is only one weakness common to all types of bending: you have to be in control of your body. If someone bloodbends your body, either you're a bloodbender yourself and can counter it or it's over (in a 1v1 fight). You can even use it without anyone noticing it to weaken your opponent without anyone realising it
Scientifically speaking, controlling heat would mean that you not only can melt stuff, it also means you can freeze stuff. That's why I think that fire benders can melt stuff by *adding* energy (thus, heating it) and water benders can freeze water by compressing o decompressing it (thus changing it's temperature). Something similar would happen with earthbenders and lava (just compress or decompress a rock enough and it'll change it's physical state).
I would add that when it comes to personalities and bending, in the same space of time Aang was struggling with Earthbending, Zuko was struggling to learn waterbending, not just within that episode, in learning lightning direction but, throughout the entire series - Zuko was struggling to understand change and the full scope of life and the feelings that come with it and his own duality. Firebending, which is positive jing, and the generation of energy and the control of it. However, waterbending is the change between postive and negative jing, both the subservience to and the force over energy. Zuko needed to understand how to adapt to his environment, to his opponents, his new living situation in the Earth Kingdom. He could not do this because of his desperation, his impulsivity, his shame. He was unable to accept how he truly felt and unable to accept his present circumstances. I just thought it was fascinating how the show subtly shows that even people who can't bend a certain element still have to go through the motions of learning the physicality and the mindset needed for it, even if for a firebending technique, in Zuko's case. Instead of focusing on his breath, he moreso was supposed to focus on the actual push and pull of the energy. However, unlike with waterbending, this was supposed to be the energy inside him, instead of outside. In identifying and clearing his vision of himself within, by gaining the humility to see himself, could he open up the Qi pathways and be worthy enough to guide the lightning entering within him, without being destroyed by it. I would add that chakras retroactively adds more dimension to the way bending works for each person, psychologically. The Solar Plexus Chakra, or the Sea of Qi, as Iroh put it, was Zuko's major struggle throughout the show, as it is blocked by shame, which was Zuko's motivation for the longest time. Shame blocked him from truly seeing himself fully and accepting his true nature, the full scope of himself, only allowing one side of himself that was accepted by his father and his nation.
Earth benders could possibly bend bones, air benders could potentially bend the oxygen in blood, fire benders could possibly spontaneously combust the oxygen in their opponents lungs, and water benders could freeze their opponents directly without any extra water. Every bender could be broken if they understand physics enough.
Air benders can deplete oxygen in entire areas and pressurize air enough to decapitate their opponents. Not to mention, they can erode human skin away in a matter of seconds.
Lava bending i would say if not domimantly earthbending, is a cross between air and earthbending. Rubbing rocks together creates heat, but in order to turn into magma requires speed and ability to move the rocks through the air (space). Plus its mainly offensive but even the bender cant touch it. Its hotter than fire, moves like water, is earth and the bender has to manipulate it like air.
i defintley think all 4 elements can be very equal, i always believe that earth, fire, air are all so strong and diverse, leaving fire in the corner. The problem with fire is that its not diverse however its subendings are very powerful thus all 4 elements are equal
Firebenders can do their own form of body control. I name it bioelectricity bending . Basically, firebenders can shock other people by controlling their bioelectricity signals and also control them using those signals to make them do something against their own will.. It can also be applied to themselves so it could possibly improve their reflexes. So how is that for an overpowered ability . Firebending is actually pretty lethal and also with the fact that it is the most accessible element compared to others. Edit: I don't think they can shock people considering the amount of volts in the human body but the rest still applies.
Well, they might be equal in base form, but the user makes a difference and when they say this is a better element, they’re probably saying that’s the element. De could probably use better.
Whats crazy is water benders can bend the water molecules in the to get water if they know what their doing much like how they can take water from plants to fight or outright control the plants

😂🤣
its similar to a planet rotating on its axis
What's so funny?@@truthspreader1996
water to ice is also physical which stops all movement in water to turn it into ice
Oh by the way this pretty much means that Kyoshi let herself die so the cycle could continue which someone else stated was “Metal AF” and I can agree.
The water benders having better feats makes sense and doesn’t actually debunk this video,
The air nomads are all dead
The fire benders relied most on military, strategy, numbers and technology
The earth benders relied on there giant wall.
To add to the fire benders. Sozins comet buff also helped in the first invasion

"Only a firebender can control heat" really had me feeling and thinking deeply..... i literally gooped when u said that bc points were made!!
Except water benders control heat by turning water into ice or water into steam or ice into water or humidity/steam into water.
ooop!! this is also a valid take i live for the discourse@@letsomethingshine

@@letsomethingshinei dont think they control heat. There are other ways to change the state of matter.
One thing that I wanna point out is that Bolin is half fire-bender, so that would explain his Lava Bending gift.
Just because Bolin can lavabend doesn't mean he's half a firebender. Lavabending Is a sub element of earth, not a joint element between earth and fire
Wrong.
@@UltimateDurzanno, that’s not how that works
@@zephanimz I always thought lavabending is more like how waterbenders can turn water into ice and the other way around. If you are skilled enough you can manage the heat state of the element. Something tells me Bruce lee would have been a water bender bc of something he said about water.

Hrmmm....but I feel like water bending in real life would genuinely be more powerful than like fire-bending.
In real life. Air and water would be the most powerful and versatile ones. Earth and fire would just be too destructive irl, and in most cases outside of battle… impractical
Clearly, you weren't paying attention to the show. It's not about the element, but the talent of the bender.

It all started with Wan from the Fire Lion Turtle, the very first Avatar.
That was lazy writing & you know it
@@CrimsonBladeWielder1998 I was walking about how the video started with fire.
@SS-rf1ri Yeah, but i was dying to know how the avatar came to exist so even it was random I was still glad to know of it.
The way you describe fire as being about well controlled but powerful attacks, and control just being a big part of it really helps me understand it, same for the way you described air as being going with the flow, following path of least resistance and using enemys strengths and movements against them
Like all this was in the show but something about exactly how you worded it all made me understand airbending and fire bending a lot better
All elements are Equal. Some elements are more equal than the other!
I hate when ppl try to say fire is the weakest when it's completely not fire is one of the most powerful elements
Cap fire is the weakest this dude is just a fire bender fan boy
The only reason the fire benders took over is because they have the strongest people, not element
The air nomads where the weakest ppl but had the strongest element
In the freezer prison scenes it shows that firebending can’t work in the cold. There needs to be heat
Air is the only element that can’t be taken away. No matter the scenario, air can always be bent. So i’m not e sure what you mean about fire.
Yeah but realistically where on earth wont you find air or water? Its everywhere. Water is the best in a fight. Not sure about its daily uses tho depends on the context of what you need
this vid was really awesome. me personally tho, I think air is the best. Zaheer is like an airbender who chose a positive jin lifestyle, aka no chill.
Just some of my own thoughts on firebending:
Firebending is not simply about heat.
Also I don't think I need to mention bloodbending (although it can only be done on a full moon for all but one blood bender)
nicely explained, it has many details, I love this show
6:08
That’s actually false, earthbenders can bend while not on the ground. An early example is Haru’s first scene.
I always found it odd, though there would be no good reason why earth and air benders don't get a buff
Supposedly the creators said that earth benders get a buff during earthquakes, and other seismic events. Still nothing for airbenders, but if I had to guess, it would be storms and tornadoes, hurricanes etc.
I had a theory that earthbending would be stronger with special gravity like in the desert
But later I learned that it gets stronger near fault lines so it is still half true
For air it is spirituality and detachment as shown with zaheer and kyoshi's mother hers got weaker when she wasn't as spiritual anymore

@@charles21137 prob tho but that still means that firebenders have a 100% chance of being able to bend heat
Well earth and water completely block and overpower fire, so it's not very equal.

Steam bender that's water and air
Earth and fire dont create lava. Lava is solely a subset of earth, not influenced by fire

Remember Waterbenders can take water out of air if they’re skilled enough.
@@slumptrid i wish they kept it that way.

9:47 In the episode where katara learns bloodbending, Hama said that you can literally pull the water vapour from air tho?
Technically but it's in a suspended state so I would be very difficult you would also need a lot of it so
beautifully said, great video 🙏🤍✨🙏🤍✨🙏🤍✨
i have smth to say at 9:45. Hama(the old lady who taught Katara how to bloodbend), she showed katara that water is EVERYWHERE. even air. so i think that goes for earth only.
I think the fiction and pressure from compressing the rocks creates heat and melts the rocks
I think you put everything really well
Gyatso also did the asphyxiation technique in a much larger scale, albeit at his own life's expense.
This actually makes the conflict and resolution between Aang and Zuko as well as Katara and Toph so much more interesting.
Thisssss was so good! Can you make more videos for this show? Your perspective and voice over was so relaxing. ❤❤❤❤
Earth benders can generate heat thru compression.
Another key waterbending move is when Katara bend water out of the plants that was lowkey dope!
Great point about lava bending!
Why did you make this even
From what we have seen, Fire is probably the weakest. It is as effective as air in offense, since we barely see any people burned. It has weak mobility unless you are the best of the best. Weakest defenses for sure.
If you put extreme pressure on the rocks they’d heat up and melt, but they’d also shrink a bit first depending on his dense the rock was
Ifi pick one be earth because i like the way they fight or fire it match my personality
Bloodbending is op though.
There is only one weakness common to all types of bending: you have to be in control of your body. If someone bloodbends your body, either you're a bloodbender yourself and can counter it or it's over (in a 1v1 fight). You can even use it without anyone noticing it to weaken your opponent without anyone realising it
Low key I thought firebending was about passion
My first time here.. great video, keep goin..
Something similar would happen with earthbenders and lava (just compress or decompress a rock enough and it'll change it's physical state).
firebenders are the Uchiha's of the Avatarverse
This is a good point, but what bending ability is going to block getting sucked the air out of you
I would add that when it comes to personalities and bending, in the same space of time Aang was struggling with Earthbending, Zuko was struggling to learn waterbending, not just within that episode, in learning lightning direction but, throughout the entire series - Zuko was struggling to understand change and the full scope of life and the feelings that come with it and his own duality.
Love the accent! Liked and subbed
Then I feel the firebender while also learning airbender teaching as well could help round out the firebender teaching keeping then calm.
LadySniperSwagg I summon you!!!
Been saying this, it just depends on the Bender only reason the Air Nomads got swept was because the Fire Nation had hacks for a day
Earth benders don’t have to be in the ground to earthbend
It is stated in the avatar lore and heavily hinted at in Kora , lava benders are a product of one fire bender parent and one earth bender parent.
No it's not. So using your idea...lighting benders is a product of what and what bending?
Its hotter than fire, moves like water, is earth and the bender has to manipulate it like air.
shoutout to all the elements lmaoo. great video girlie
i defintley think all 4 elements can be very equal, i always believe that earth, fire, air are all so strong and diverse, leaving fire in the corner.
I’ll be much scared in front of a water bender then fire. I rather get splash then burnt x
I know it's only been shown once by hama In atla but she did state/show that water can be pulled out of thin air although low quantities.
