It was so much fun playing through this at guitar center. It had such an ethereal and soft eerie sound. Well crafted, designed and so versatile. I just ordered a used one.
I was impressed with the Slo, but after listening to many demos, I think I'll probably get the Fathom first. Thanks for this demo, it has helped me to decide.
I chose the fathom over the slo because I needed a good "standard" reverb that could also get really wet and allow for some nice ambient swells. I love this pedal. It's the only reverb I own now and I'm still finding new nuances in the settings that give this thing almost endless versatility.
I bought a Fathom months ago. This video helped remind me what all of the controls do and how they interact in terms of sound. My only “complaint” is that Walrus doesn’t make clear that the Plate/Hall/LoFi/Sonar control is NOT a 4-position switch. Instead it sweeps from one mode to another. Just blending Plate and Hall in different amounts gives amazing flexibility. However, the spot I find the most fun is in between LoFi and Sonar. Adding a touch of the octave stuff to LoFi is really cool 😎 I bought the pedal thinking it was a 4-way switch and I’d done some research.
One thing which isn't entirely clear: can it do 100% wet? I love how, with medium or high modation, it actually sounds like some old, slightly fantastical movie about a mad scientist who decided to go live under the sea. Sometimes in an eerie way, sometimes in a dreamy way.
ordered! it sounds amazing i cant wait to try it out, hopefully this can somewhat replace what little use of delay i have, because i really just need some more echo effect not the repeats so i think this is gonna be great.
Here is one we did with keys - ua-cam.com/video/CwyS3dZzjco/v-deo.html. There has also been a lot popping up on Instagram. Look up @blankfor.ms for several examples!
right now, im running the Slo reverb, ARP 87, poly chrome. I haven't pulled the trigger on AGES or the Iron horse yet. im trying to figure out which one to go with. Im running a 5 pedal board and need one distortion or overdrive and another color effect... so far im leaning on the Iron horse and the Julia. The Fathom was high on the list but the Slo won out in the end. very hard decision. dang budget constraints.
this guy is like a Voltron-ized set of "pretentious guitarist dude" cliches. fancy shoes; neatly "ripped" jeans; denim (with rolled sleeves); fancy-man hat; pick in mouth; the glasses, the half-beard, the olive tones; the serious soul-searching vibe; and the flag in the background is the real cherry on top.
Hoping to see more demos on this where this is used in conjunction in with other pedals. I like the Slo but not convinced it's practical in a band setting. I want something that's flexible enough to do even very slight reverb to not overkill everything.
Hate it when pedal companies make demo vids with obscure amps to boost their "boutque cred". why not go with something everyone is familiar with, don't stack with other pedals, and say if its straight into the front or in the loop, so we can actually get an idea of what we're hearing? That's what demo videos are for- for those who are actually about to maybe buy your pedal, that is.
How does it work when you consecutively press the sustain switch? Will it keep layering them on top of each other or will it just switch to the new sound?
I think this pedal has a lot of great sounds, but in the manual, it says the "Lo" setting turns the modulation off. Why not just label it "Off"? I think that's misleading.
I bought mine a few weeks ago and it’s been making my amp pop. I’ve tried changing the cables, I’ve tried my other amps, I’ve tried different 9vs. Any recommendations?
so if you press and hold the sustain, can you play over the sustained part? example being, playing a chord then pressing sustain and play something over the chord being held
Yeah, I kinda agree. Some of the features toward the end of the video are a little experimental. Not quite as out there as some of the stuff EarthQuaker is doing. Still a pretty neat pedal regardless!
Eli Miller Ever heard of the EQD Transmisser or Afterneath? You wouldn't classify those as experimental? I agree with DelScully, this pedal has some features that would make it suitable for more experimental music. Though it works well for "standard" applications too.
If you guys keep going like this I wouldn't be surprised, if my board ended up being Walrus Audio only.
There's a music store in my town that has this pedalboard with only Walrus pedals. It's one of the best things I've messed around with.
I have 3 of their pedals lol
Wouldn’t be surprised if my board ended up being like 7 boss metal zone pedals
Ditto
No doubt; everything except Fuzz, - they rule.
Thanks for not talking.
Just won this in a giveaway! So pumped. I got this, a tc hall of fame 2 and an afterneath from earthquaker. Sooooo much verb
Damn your so lucky man, how are you liking it?
Congrats, and sorry about the Dementors sucking your soul out.

Awesome. Thank you!

this comment helped me to decide
@@vyshnavmohan6926 I think you'll be very happy with the Fathom - it's a great ambient reverb!
same
I had purchased the slow, then I ended up exchanging it for the fathom. Having both would be sick too.

Got to test mine today. Good to know the in-between modes! Gotta try that out🎉
I might actually be preordering a pedal for once! This is beyond incredible
I think this is the reverb pedal ive been waiting for thank you.

yes it does 100% wet!
@@walrusaudioeffects Awesome, thanks!
@@walrusaudioeffects Be honest, only in Plate mode.
The Slö was my first ever pedal. This will definitely be my next pedal from you guys.
Bamboo Acrobat awesome! Thanks!

Seanachie's Court thanks!!
I love my Fathom. It sounds as beautiful as it looks.
I get so lost in this pedal, absolutely love it.
That Sonar setting could definitely be useful for some Disintegration style Cure tones
HOW IT ENDS! ALWAYS ENDS!!!
So freaking stoked!!1!
I just ordered one yesterday. I can't wait until it gets here.
I'm in love with this pedal
Very nice. Very happy with my APR 87 delay.
Thank you!
Just bought it, can't wait to try it!!!!
Yes! Thanks!!
Love the little Blake mills like thrown in there
This sounds unbelievable.
Really really nice pedal
I just bought one, i hope i like it.
The pedal is cool but where can I get those boots?
those boots are made for walking
I'd love to hear this thing on a synth
Here is one we did with keys - ua-cam.com/video/CwyS3dZzjco/v-deo.html. There has also been a lot popping up on Instagram. Look up @blankfor.ms for several examples!
walrusaudioeffects niiiice. He's got that thing dialed in perfect
I have one and love it!
These are great pedals. Why don't you make them stereo, though?
Is there a hidden mode?
Curious as to why the mod control is a 3way instead of a knob like on the ARP-87
So good!!!
slo still gets my vote

best art ever. Cool submarine

It’s pretty versatile! Check out both our pedal play videos with two different bands, different styles.
I do like you’re new reverb but I prefer the arp-87 delay
It's the descent!
Honestly, I just need to know where you got those boots...
Hate it when pedal companies make demo vids with obscure amps to boost their "boutque cred". why not go with something everyone is familiar with, don't stack with other pedals, and say if its straight into the front or in the loop, so we can actually get an idea of what we're hearing? You’re a retard. The pedal is sick, favorite thing I own. If you’re amp sucks stop being poor brokie
Very reminiscent of volcano choir chords
I want to buy a new reverb pedal Walrus Audio Fathom vs Walrus Audio Slo vs Hall of fame 2 what should get
My eye is one tha slo
See you guys at namm
Chris Tarpley yeah!

That’s only in sonar mode. It does not run it off for the other modes.
It's fucking awesome
💛💛
love the pedal and your boots man ! where do they come from ?
Is that a Roland JC77 amp?
I bought mine a few weeks ago and it’s been making my amp pop. I’ve tried changing the cables, I’ve tried my other amps, I’ve tried different 9vs. Any recommendations?
Thats strange. Shoot an email to help@walrusaudio.com and he can help troubleshoot or get it in to get it fixed!
Only by extern alimentation ?
Can anyone tell me what he's playing @1:20? It's a really pretty and chill melodie. I like it
so if you press and hold the sustain, can you play over the sustained part? example being, playing a chord then pressing sustain and play something over the chord being held
I would be interested to know that too. Similar to EHX Freeze pedal?
I wanna know too
Fant-Astic! :-)
So Sonar=Shimmer (Octave Reverb)?
This or the tc electronics hall of fame 2?
Fathom or Slö?
Anthony Sclafani their meant to be stacked! Your in a heavenly dream like state when you stack them. Trust me
Almost like Inception... a pedal within a pedal. This would require heavy sedation.
I think so SlO is very few usefulness.
lets get the least experimental player to demo an extremely experimental pedal.
DelScully not really sure that I would consider a reverb pedal as experimental..
you're joking right?
Yeah, I kinda agree. Some of the features toward the end of the video are a little experimental. Not quite as out there as some of the stuff EarthQuaker is doing.

From the demos the R1 sounds nothing like this, am I right?
This or Neunaber Immerse, or Walrus Slo?
Leute hat wer mxr reverb mit walrus schon mal verglicht? Habe Angst davor, dass er einen zu scharfen Ton hat...
Does anyone know the song being played at 4:08? It's so pretty and I want to learn it
Stereo version when?
Does it accept TRS stereo?
+walrusaudioeffects what head is that sitting on top of the Roland jc 120?
Its a Milkman half and half bass head.
Don’t know if I want SLO or this fathom
We’ve got a blog post on our site that help break down the differences.
www.walrusaudio.com/blogs/news/fathom-and-slo-reverb
+walrusaudioeffects did you only use the fathom for this demo or any other pedals (especially while using the lo-fi mode)?
Oliver Gebauer this is only the fathom you’re hearing!
Can you do reverse reverb with a fathom?
Nope
I just wish I could switch between two reverbs instead of the sustain button
the sustain button is the best part of this reverb..
Seven persons from rival stomp box companies disliked this video..
That 335 man...
Shimmer?
This or the immerse reverb?
I used to own a neunaber immerse and this pedal completely blows it out of the water imo. Loving my Fathom
eh. the slo sounds WAY better. the lofi sound at 3:44 is nice tho
I think so too, I like the Slo and the Earthquakes Devices Dispatch Master better.
Wish the guy would play within each setting more. He plays one riff then moves on. Hard to get the vibe
anyone have this loud pitched noise when turning up the mix knob?
Def shouldn't be happening. Shoot us an email at repairs@walrusaudio.com and we'll get you fixed up!
walrusaudioeffects thanks for the reply you guys! And definitely will
earthy hipster, nothing is out of place, meditate, buddha, humus

Great sounding pedal, but what a boring demo! Andy should do all demos.
0_0 my wallet
NEED
dude. get a tuner.
That guitar is in tune or really damn close , he’s just playing some dissonant chords to build tension.
Great sounding pedal, the guitarist, not so much
You can not wear pants like that.
Patrick Black I think he can though.
You are right. He can and he did. I shouldn't make fun. I'm not very fashion savvy myself.
You cant not.
It’s weird to see a grown up man with hairy legs wearing a tight ripped jeans! :)))
S Jay uhh okay..?
Lol.
The guy who does the demo's playing is so dull. Can't watch any demo with him for more than 30 seconds.
Amazing pedal but what an awful demo, the tone is non existent.
out of tune
