Wow, I totally wanna buy a Rabea Massaad, good Demo.
13:46 - 17:58 was out of this world man. Bea, make an ambient solo album please, like a trip through the cosmos.
Totally agree, I'd throw money at an ambient solo album.
By this point I'd say there's no way he isn't well into a project of that kind. If not actually recording then having an array of potential tracks and bits and piece he could put together to form an ep. (I'm just trying to convince myself that's all true here lol).
TheGlobuleReturns his latest video confirms he's working on something :)
YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't tell Rob but you're better at reviewing gear than he is. The way you systematically go through the features is really great. Cheers.
hard agree
I’ll tell Rob.
@@cmurduh1 I'll rob Tell
He is better than Rob at everything
I'm a big fan of the ARP-87, Ive had it in to demo for a few weeks and its become my personal #1 delay. its pretty close to always on.
High praise. It's at the top of my list to replace my old DD6.
Just got it to replace my Wampler FTE. For worship music it’s a fantastic tool!
Your reviews have always been good but you've really taken them to new heights lately; and this is a work of art. All of your product demonstration gigs are well earned.
I really dig the pedals Walrus Audio is putting out too.
Rabea's pedal reviews are always well informed and thorough. I like the sound of this pedal
Rabea is so creative and expressive. Great vid, as always!!
dude your videos keep going from strength to strength and have such a professionalism to them, you deserve way more subscribers than you have
Just got one today for christmas, i already love it. Thank you Rabea!
That intro gave me an eargasm!
I listen to your gear review videos just because your test clips sound gorgeous on their own. If you release an album of JUST solo guitar using your delayed sounds and your stereo setup, I would seriously listen to it. There's an emotional quality to your playing that makes it feel very complete in itself.
Fantastic! Love this pedal and I had a blast exploring mine. I'm sure an ambient and riff beast like yourself got along with it quite easily! Cheers from California
This is the kind of delay I've been looking for. Amazingly versatile, small and with a separate tap-tempo button. Now to wait for it to be available :P
Love the pedal, great tones and flight of wounded bumblebee of course!
i love these pedals you review but at this point im just listening to you play
I'm watching this over and over again. Great demonstration, love your playing. Escpecially from 13:39 to 17:59, I can listen to this part over and over.
ARP 87 sound amazing, great job guys !
Some of the best reviews ever man. Much love
you make me want to buy this pedal rabea!!! and pick up my guitar from my sleeping closet and practice again! ur surprisingly inspiring man
Getting one this week!! Can’t wait
I have this in the Limited Edition version ! It’s beautiful and so is the artwork !
wow ... that is one of the best pedals i have ever see .. briliant video ! thank you again Rabea :) and Congrats for your Weight loss keep going dude !
I can totally see this as a part of a song from the new toska ep.
Great playing, sounds like a nice pedal. Nice flight of the wounded bumblebee!
Perfect, im in the market for a delay pedal. Lets hear this thing!
If this pedal had a save button somehow, it would literally be the best pedal on the market.
nadir guler use sticker dots to mark where your knobs are on good sounds. Different colors for different presets
nadir guler , I saw a demo of Loknobs that seemed interesting
Add a Ditto Looper after this on your chain and it'll save it.
Well done review and very thorough! Thank you for that!
playing with walrus for some time now, after hearing this, i think i might aswell just skip all other pedals.. it sounds beautiful!
great demo, useful, methodical, talking and playing that shows off the pedal in great detail. No bullshit blues licks. top man.
Mike Waddington what's wrong with the blues?
Great demo, Rabea.
geez... This pedal is like a Karnivool-lover's dream, sounds like a sick creation engine
Nice demo, I like that little Nuno sample Flight of the Bumblebee. 👍👍
Wow , very cool pedal, very surprised at how easy to use and play with..wasn't really anything that sounded too bad. Modulation can be a little quirky..but overall I think it's one of the best foot delays I've heard in awhile..those super slaps were amazing! I'll be checking these out for sure...been using 2 Dd7 Boss delays for a long time..this one sounds a bit cleaner and easier to use. Thanks for the demo..I'm glad I tuned in.
The Walrus Voyager Overdrive freakin rules as well.
Buddy I have fallen in love with this pedal and it's all your fault. I've come back to watch this video like 10 times just because I can't stop listening to your playing, it's inspiring
the slap back reminds me of digitech slapback. It has a ocsillating texture to it. Very nice. I BUY NOW. Thanks Bea
Came for tasty Bea guitar and left completely satisfied!!! Now to come up with the money for yet another pedal....
Good review. Really want to get this pedal
Great demo, great pedal! Really good sound and versatile while being straightforward to use, can't use Strymon's at all.
Okay. My next pedal.
U got me
dude thats friggin awesome
Fabulous, as soon as the pandemic goes away I might get me one
Amazing!
16:35 - 17:35 needs to be in a Toska song
hey Bea! Love your videos *-*
I just want to ask if you could make some more videos about just "writing philosophy" of you... I know it sounds strange but your improvisation is just always so interesting and well thought out. I'd love to learn to do that, so I think it'd help to have some input at what and how people like you are thinking about that playing
that's a great sound!
Rabeas palying is unreal
It's funny that my Keeley Caverns broke and then this comes along...
Thanks for the fantastic review man, I currently have an earthquake or devices avalanche run in while I love it it’s just too dang big… This is a smaller footprint very similar featured pedal
damn this pedal does everything lol def grabbing one
Wow I need it
pretty nice modulation
Nice Review Guy!!
Some nice pink Floydy sounds there
16:34 - this gives me confidence I made a good purchase.
Is there anyone cooler the Bea? No, no there is not.
Me
Ofc there is. Guthrie Govan
The Fonz?
Wow, guess this will be my first delay pedal then :D
Major Ruin same!
I'd love to hear a collaboration between Bea and Celldweller, that'd be awesome
13.50 onwards! It's lit
Loved that Nuno Bettencourt ending! ;)
Little bit of Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee for the win.
This could suit me perfectly, for my small board. I need a better delay. Bea to the rescue!
Rabea, what is the background music used here (and in a lot of other videos)? Sounds Stratty, and is hauntingly beautiful.
Soooo torn between this and the T-Rex Replica. This seems sooo versatile but the T-Rex Replica sounds so good. Ufff
Ah man was hoping you'd show the additional switch functions
Super review !! This is might what I'm looking for to replace or use next to mine EHX deluxe Memory Boy. How well does this pedal react when you use it through the front of the amp instead of the fx loop ?? My AC15 doesn't have one .. and the MMB sounds a bit darker than I wanted to.
Dat Nuno at the end :D
It would be so cool if you made a video about how to play that part on 11:15 !
Really enjoyed the video! Is there any chance you could do a playthrough of Outspoken?
Bea you should definitely show us you too while playing
sounds great. what is the noise floor like?
Very nice review Bea!
I have a question. I want to buy some pedals because i have none. Could you suggest me pedals that are not too expensive? Like a wah,a gain/overdrive,a chorus,ecc...
I'm only disappointed that there's no reverse function. Granted I could try and find a reverse reverb, but I don't know. I'll have to look into it
TREMENDO DELAY. GROSO.
Walrus AMAZING pedals!!! Great guitarist!!!
You meant low pass/high cut on the Dampen knob.
I thought "another delay pedal? BORED" when I saw the video, but this pedal seems awesome.
+Mezurashii5 nah, I didn't, I meant the lo-fi setting is a high pass, so that cuts the low end.
Please Bea will u make an official tab for Chalk teeth?
Nice video, Bea! This or the Bellwether, what would you say?
The Bellwether I own is just phenomenal. With the effects loop you can add any modulation or drive pedal you want. That makes it better IMO but, this one sounds great too. I am biased toward analogue delays though.
Rabea, Are you or any of the Chapman Guitar crew coming to Summer Namm?
And on board tap? Wow who would have thought that was possible.... Dunlop, Digitech and TC need to live in the now.
For the price and what it does...the empress echosystem is so mucj better. That's heavy competition. BUT, the closest delay competitor is the polymoon
Im sold..
Beautiful hair and accent
Bea you should do a ARP-87 vs E.D. Afterneath pedal shootout to show which is better in your opinion!
These are completely separate beasts. The afterneath is a reverb pedal, the ARP-87 is a delay. The afterneath is also it's own thing entirely as it doesn't model any typical reverbs and it very granular. Stacking the ARP into an Afterneath would be cool tho!
A while back, Walrus had done a special edition ARP-87 / Fathom combo pedal. IMO, that should be a standard pedal in their lineup.
Any chance of a comparison of the Kemper IRs vs the Torpedo?
I could listen to 16:35 all day
How well does this handle high gain?
I have this pedal and my lofi seems to have a more pitch bendy quality to it. like the echoes bend up in pitch as they continue. Anyone else?
What is the side jack for? I just bought this pedal.
14:20 - 14:49 Desireless - Voyage Voyage ???
I wish the tails mode was a switch rather than the ‘hold the foot switch in and power it up’ method.
He mentions adding and external tap tempo switch even though it already has one. Could anyone tell me if there is a benefit to this? Is it really only down to board layout?
you could connect it to another delay and sync their tempos. could alternatively connect it to a switcher system to set tempo automatically
What is that Marshall case in the background
I bet It's Lees AFD 100
love the chord progression starting around 11:55. sounds Radiohead-ish. Care to list the chords you played?
This has pretty much the same featureset as the TC Nova Repeater
this or caverns? like, giving up delay rhythm notation for reverb.
Great demo.....super informative....
Who are the idiots who gave this a thumbs down? Shame on you.. Rabea is a fine player and a very down to earth player....
Oh, Rabea, what is the tuning you’re using on this? Is it a long scale neck? Love your videos 👍
Can the anolog setting go into self oscillation?
No
Hi Bea! Fantastic overview of the pedal - currently looking for a creative delay and it definitely seems pretty badass.
Quick question - what is the bridge pickup in your ML3-Bea?
GGagonist In the production run, it's his own Chapman design pickup, based on the Bare Knuckle Warpig in his proto guitars
Thanks for your replay Matthew, but aren't Chapman pickups black and they usually have the Chapman logo on it. Then again, that might be the BKP Warping in there.
GGagonist As far as I know, because they're Rabea's own design pickups, they have a silver cover, cause the baritone has the same style of cover, but it's painted black
Ah indeed, you are quite right sir. I went to Chapman Guitars page, found the ML3-Bea and yeap, it's the Chapman pickup without a logo.
Thank you for your answers Matthew!
Wow....
16:34 yes
