Is that a coincidence? I just watched a video on UA-cam about Canada liberating the Netherlands in WW2 and the good relationship between the 2 countries and then I saw your video in my notifications, a dutch woman in Canada lol
I'm addicted to your videos. I watch them every single day. I could literally just watch you talk about your experiences or unbox things all day. There's just something about how excited you are about things.
Late to the party, but as someone who was born and lived in lower Ontario, sounds like a pretty spot on Canadian experience. Glad you enjoyed it! Hearing the differences between there and the Netherlands honestly has me very curious to see what its like in the Netherlands, seems like such a beautiful country
I'm from Quebec City, it's not usually that cold even for January. We are currently under a cold spell, normal high for January should be around -5c not -18c like what you experienced. Hope you had fun.
I'm so glad you liked Canada, I feel proud. You show that same sense of wonder and joy that I had when I first went to Nederland. I have a dutch friend that's always asking for specific snacks when I visit
I'm jealous that you don't get much snow, even though the Netherlands is further north than southern Canada. It used to be colder here, too, it got down to -40 pretty often until the 2000s. I definitely prefer European cars, architecture, and food, but your facination with things I find boring made me smile.
I always enjoy seeing tourists talk about their experiences coming to Canada. We often take things for granted here and are so used to our ways of life, you kind of forget how it may be odd to someone from somewheres else.
Hello from Toronto! Glad you enjoyed yourself. Hopefully you can return for a summer trip. If you do, since you like hiking, you should visit Algonquin Park - one of my favorite places to be.
Ketchup chips are my favorite, and it kills me that they're so hard to find in the US :( The traffic thing varies. Some places in North America have separate signals for the left turn, some don't. That's what the green arrow means: any time you see a green arrow, it means they have separate lights and you're safe to turn left without worrying about traffic coming at you. When they don't have separate lights (so there's no arrow), the rule is just: everyone who wants to go straight goes straight, and the people who want to turn left pull forward into the intersection and wait until everyone's done going straight. The people waiting to turn left go once it's clear, potentially even after their light turns red (they're pulled forward and can't see the light anyway), which will mean they end up going in between the light changes (their lights turns red, so there's no more straight traffic, and the other direction isn't green yet). It sounds complicated, but it is pretty straightforward once you've done it. The stop sign thing is just annoying. People lose track constantly, which is why you see people waving to each other to go first. The European way is much better.
As someone who enjoys ASMR and at the same time suffers from misophonia, chewing sounds are usually a hard pass for me in videos. I love your videos and gave this one a shot, and I have to say, your table manners are AMAZING. Listening to food sounds are usually a source of anxiety for me, but this video is pure tingles through and through!!
How cow. I'm in Montreal and have been a fan of the channel for years. Can't believe you're so close. How are you enjoying that crisp cool weather? Only -24C tonight. xD The tax thing is straight up insulting by the way. It's done so that a lower price can be listed which leads to people buying more, or putting more in their shopping carts and then once they reach the cash register, the companies have run the numbers and realized that more often than not, people would not put items back but instead pay the higher price. There is no other reason why the taxes can't included in the price. I am pretty sure that the restaurants that let you bring your own booze don't have a liquor license. They have a food license and they can serve your own wine, but they aren't allowed to sell you any. I would be surprised if restaurants that do sell alcoholic beverages would also allow you to bring your own. If you want the best poutine, you HAVE to go to La Banquise. Regarding the traffic lights, regular green means that you can go straight or turn but if you're crossing the intersection, you must yield to oncoming traffic. So basically, if there's no one, you can go, otherwise you wait. If it's flashing green, the other direction is red. You can safely turn even if there's traffic in the opposite direction because they can't go. If you have flashing green, you can obviously just go straight as well. Flashing red is basically only used on small streets where during the day you need to have a traffic light directing the traffic because of the higher volume of cars but during hours where there are fewer cars, like in the evening up until morning, it can just be a stop sign. Lastly, the green arrow that turns into a circle is often used so that cars don't turn and hit crossing pedestrians. Which honestly is stupid and unnecessary. Drivers can just LOOK if there's anyone there. An extra signaling light is not needed. The really frustrating part is that in Laval they can turn right at red light like in the US, unlike in Montreal which is a civilized city. By the way, some cultural background as to why the Quebecois swear words are all altered versions of religious words. Quebec was ultra religious and Catholic in a mostly protestant North America. This was the case for many generations and the priests were really influential, especially when it came to promoting that people have many children in order to have enough Quebecois and not be overtaken by the Anglophones. There was a big cultural and social shift in the early 60s, referred to as The Quiet Revolution, which changed that among other things. So many people of that generation became not only atheist but actively anti-religion and it became trendy to swear by invoking these religious words, but changed a little bit. The generations that followed have remained pretty atheist as well.
I live in Canada And I’ve been to Quebec 92929292020102985756584940201934857 times. I love Quebec!!!! Most of my relatives live in Quebec, I am French so I understand what everyone Is saying. They have the best hotels. My family lives in Sherbrooke, Montreal. I rate Quebec at 10/10 it’s not so cool for me -20 isn’t cold.
I loooove the video and especially the chatting and chewing/eating sounds. I know you apologized for it, but that is definitely my personal favorite! :)
Lays is an evolution of the Walker's Crisps Company now operating in the UK and Ireland. Walkers was founded in 1948 in Leicester, England, by Henry Walker. In 1989, Walkers was acquired by Lay's owner, Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo. (Source Wikipedia)
I love Reece's stuff! =] You can get a "bigger cups trio" pack as a smaller snack here in the UK. But I love all kinds of peanut butter snacks! So have you moved to Canada or are you just there visiting for a while?
This is a cool video! Fascinating to hear about the differences between the Netherlands and Canada, also, funny that you are ok with snack and candy options being huge in Canada but, you say it’s unnecessary for Pasta so I see where your interests are 😂😂 Also, I love peanut butter candy as well. You should try Butterfingers, they get stuck in your teeth a bit but I love them
@@ChaeriASMR Oh very nice! You went full Québec experience haha. Also IGA is a brand of grocery stores, we also have Metro, Provigo and Loblaws. I wish I could have cross path with you when you were in Montréal so I could have tell you how much I love all your ASMR videos and how they really help me relax and thanking you for your work. :)
you can use any cheese and fries you want for poutine lol i don't usually like cheese curds and only in Quebec is poutine pronounced how you corrected yourself lol in other provinces it is how you were saying it the first time
Saying the chips won’t last and that Costco is the ikea of food was a good laugh. The trucking you see in Quebec is not representative of all North America.
J'espère que tu te plais ici. Quel dommage par contre que ce soit au milieu d'une pandémie alors que tous sont à bout de nerfs... Bon séjour malgré tout !
*Chaeri talking about Canadian 4way stops* "Seems like it would be easy to get confused over who was there first" Me:🤣🤣😂 yeah, it does doesn't it! If you think Canadians are friendly and polite, I dare you to be in a car with one during rush hour at a 4 way stop 😂
Canada and Québec are two different countries within one. Two different languages, two different histories, two different cultures. Not weird, just different. Oh and historically speaking, real Canada IS Québec ;) "Canada" used to refer to the valley of the Saint-Laurent

Even though most is closed it was still super fun and it's a beautiful city! Reminds me of Europe. :)
Climate change is real
I know right? I'm from Ontario, north from Toronto and we've had a whole week where it's been -30c with windchill, it's crazy
Cold 😂 man thats shorts weather
I'm impressed! The way you said poutine in French sounded exactly like a Quebecer talking!

Nice! I’ve been to Canada, traveling from the east to west in 8 weeks. It was amazing! Enjoy!
I hope you got winter tires cause you gonna need em
I've watched this like 3-4 times! It's so good. Please make more "experience" or "traveling" ASMR videos.

Hi from BC! The Quebec/English mix of slang is known as “Franglish” and it is borderline impossible to understand hahaha
I enjoyed Quebec when I visited. Montreal and Toronto also had some great restaurants.
Hello from Toronto! Glad you enjoyed yourself. Hopefully you can return for a summer trip. If you do, since you like hiking, you should visit Algonquin Park - one of my favorite places to be.
