I also forgot to add the "eu" sound, which is kind of in between "ui" and "au". French speaking people will have no difficulties with pronouncing this one. I'll teach it to you guys in a next video if you'd like! :)
The best Dutch intro video I've ever seen. No unnecessary dry theory. This goes straight into real practical sentences, with useful tips along the way, in a completely relaxed and friendly style. Especially good for people with social or language anxiety. Please do more!!
You are extremely good at teaching Dutch this way, and it compliments the use of Duolingo well. I would love to see more beginner Dutch lessons ASMR style.
really really liked this video, chaeri. my mom loved the netherlands and would visit often and sometimes speak to me in dutch. you helped me to remember her a little bit today.
"Ik ben..." is basically "ich bin" like German, and "Myn naam is..." is basically "my name is" like English. I love how much crossover there is from Dutch, it's a nice easy language to learn!
I really hope this video gets a lot of views and justifies a series. I love it, I've watched/listened to it in full at least three times. Idk why but educational asmr just really pulls me in.
I know I'm late but I'm simply flabbergasted (I absolutely love this word) how similar German and Dutch are in some parts ! For many people the "ch" sound may be difficult but not for German speaking ppl cause we also have it (e.g. Macht, Nacht, Schacht) eventho it's a bit "stronger" in Dutch, some words are also very similar if not even identical. (Goed = Gut, slecht = schlecht, dankje= danke, ik heet= ich heiße, hoe heet jy/ wie heißt du) And your are right about the formal you in German! The informal you is "Du" and the formal one is "Sie" (be careful to not mix is up with sie (she) tho) Gute Nacht!
This is genuinely so helpful and relaxing, you are an amazing teacher and an amazing ASMRtist! I am trying to learn Dutch, but I lack exposure to the language, so thank you so much. 🙏✨
Now Ik spreek nederlands, easiest lessons ever. Btw, I love your new place! Keep it up Chaeri ❤️ Pd: You have one of the best handwritings I've ever seen, sooo clean ✍🏻
I am learning Dutch on Duolingo and I think it’s funny how some of the first sentences you learn are things like “Je bent geen appel!” 😂 En goede video :)
Love this type of video because I love to learn new languages and it is so relaxinggg. I hope there will be more videos like this from you in the near future xo :))
I can't even explain to you how helpful this was! I just started learning Dutch a month ago and no one explained to me the difference between formal and informal ways to say hello/thank you/please ect. Also in my language, which is Croatian, we use the rolling R, and even though it's very difficult for me to pronounce R the way you pronounce it, I still do it because to me it just sounds so cool. Thanks!
Yeah! More dutch lessons. And I liked your book videos. The cookbook and coloring book. If you have any other books I'd love to hear you talk about and tap them.
@@ChaeriASMR oh man I can't imagine the insanity of French verb conjugations on Duo. I took 8 years of French and tried the Duo test for funs... it kicked me out almost immediately. >.< I'll pick my Dutch back up today, thanks for the motivation!
Sounds like I've been having one part of the basics down already. In Finnish we say "hei" as hi, but just for fun I have every once in a while been saying to my friends "hoi" for quite some time now. Now I learn it is actually said in Dutch like that lol. I also some times say "hoi hoi" as a goodbye or bye-bye, in the same way as we say "hei hei" :D
Been to Assen and the surrounding areas quite a few times, as soon as people know you're English they want to speak to you in English , so my Dutch is terrible 😀
Ik leren een beetje Nederlands met Duolingo en dat is een lekker les I've actually been waiting for this, since learning Nederlands with Duolingo got me hooked (From Duitsland btw) Feel free to correct my mistakes x)
I believe you meant, ik leer een beetje Nederlands met Duolingo, en dat is een leuke les. Which means, i'm learning a little bit of Dutch with Duolingo. Which is a fun lesson (Dont know exactly what you mean with Lekker les, because lekker means tasty 😅 )
Dit was echt een moeie video! Ik vind nederlands hel interessant te leeren, maar ook suuuper moelijk (lastig?). Would love to see more, much love from forgotten Denmark (even though you mentioned Sweden, I'm fuming just at the thought! :3 )
"Moelijk" and "lastig" is basically the same, so you would be right with both ways. Further the sentence were good, except for some grammar errors and forgotten words. "Dit was echt een mooie video! Ik vind Nederlands heel interessant om te leren, maar ook super moeilijk/lastig", would be the proper sentence :)
This was fun. As a native English speaker and German learner the surprises were mostly in the pronunciation. That G is... distinctive. Oh, is no one named Benjamin in the Netherlands? Because "Ik ben Ben" sounds remarkably awkward.
hmmm.. slaap lekker is very familiar, yes lekker is delicious, in my country lekker is the name of a cake adapted from the Dutch word lekker which means delicious, but I know what it means, the hope is that sleep can be comfortable🛌
@@ChaeriASMR In the past, Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch. So that's why many words/vocabularies were taken from the Dutch language, Example : Handuk/Handdoek (towel), Ember/Emmer (Bucket), Kantor (Office), Bioskop (Cinema), Oma (Grandma), Opa (Grandpa), Kulkas/Koelkast (Fridge), verboden (forbidden) etc.. there are more than 9000-10000 Dutch loanwords in Indonesian dictionary. Basically we know some basic Dutch words.😂
As Belgian, I'd rather speak Belgian/Dutch or at times Flemish ! Ik ben franstalig ook dus ja. Nederlands heeft geen geheim voor mij ! Ik praat het heel vrije vlot !
I also forgot to add the "eu" sound, which is kind of in between "ui" and "au". French speaking people will have no difficulties with pronouncing this one.

Perfect video to return and check if the basics are still down after a couple of years without practice. Your voice is a gem too. Thx!
You are extremely good at teaching Dutch this way, and it compliments the use of Duolingo well. I would love to see more beginner Dutch lessons ASMR style.

„Myn naam is“ is also similar to the german phrase „mein Name ist“ and „Ik heet“ would then be „ich heiße“ !! I think it’s super cool!!

I can speak over 14 languages, and Dutch is by far the hardest to learn! And I know Japanese and Korean 🤣
I‘m nog sure but "Ik ben…" is basically "Ik ben" in Dutch 🇳🇱
It's like speaking Old English while you're choking on some ham, just kidding this was nice!
That’s exactly what it is 😂
Bruh frr my grandma is Dutch and listening to her talk this is exactly what it sounds like
LOOOOL
Well Old English is French, German and Dutch all mixed together.
Mostly Dutch, English and German mix together because they all are germanic languages with strong Nordic influences
I really hope this video gets a lot of views and justifies a series.

Love this video content. You're awesome!
"How goes you?" Is a very old English expression which means "How are you?" so it's a pretty close approximation of the Dutch interpretation.
Tongue twister got me 😂
Thanks good video ❤

The flex on "my own appartment"

Hello Chaeri
You have a very nice voice, I enjoy listening to you.
And I especially like your hairstyle, beautiful.
Must say, never use goedendag formal either. Just hallo too, or goedemorgen or goedemiddag. And to friends it’s hey or yo :).
what is it like to live in The Netherlands? Do you like to live there? I really want to move there someday.
It really changes from Netherlands to Belgium like the accent
Drawing video when? Keep up the great work!
Your English is very good
its fairly similar to german with a strong accent imo
Please explain the difference between Holland and neatherlands
the Netherlands is the country as a whole but Holland is two provinces in the country(North and South Holland)
It's basically the same nowadays, but indeed "Holland" is most likely about Noord- & Zuid Holland
I've noticed that a lot of people pronounce their G's in English like the K sound. Even people who are natively American.
Indonesian here. We are still using the word "Dag!"
That's interesting! I didn't know that
