Your bakery is poor then. In my bakery we take all the bread from the previous day and blend it in milk. The key is leaving the milk at room temperature for one week to develop a mild sourness. You can go back to being poor now.

I used to work at a bakery. Each night we would give the old bread away to homeless people and food shelters. I was also on the receiving end of it as a child, when I was homeless and would collect bread from the bakery at night.

Yeah! When I was in school! I started working at sandwich 🥪 n pastry 🎂 place, making bread, cinnamon roll and fruit strudels! Yup! Whatever is left the manager gave it to the shelter! I used to eat pita bread with veggies all the time! It's so good! The co- workers thought that I was a vegetarian! One day one of the workers maybe tired of me eating just that and she brought me a meal, hamburger 🍔 and fries 🍟! I thanked her and ate it in front of her! She said, I thought you didn't eat meat! I told her I do! They're all surprise 🫢! I'll try this, it looked so good I never thought of that with stale bread! I throw them away or breaking into small pieces and throw out for the wild birds to eat! 😊

Panera Bread (St Louis Bread Co) actually gives away their leftover bread every night to organizations that hand it out to their community. My dads church used to collect the bread and hand it out. Sweets were included. They make it all fresh every day.

Almost like flan!! 4 eggs, Condensed sweet milk 1 can, Evaporated milk 1 can and vanilla one teaspoon. Put in a blender. Make the caramel the same way about 1 cup of white sugar stirring constantly don’t let it get too dark or it will get bitter. Pour in a container and pour in the custard mixture on top of the caramel. Cover and put in warm water in a larger container and put the smaller container with the custard inside the water bath. Bake for 50 to and hour on 350F. You can put in just a bit of soft cream cheese in the blender with the custard mixture and it will come out almost like a cheese cake. Cool in the fridge over night. Put a big plate on top and turn over carefully and the caramel will be on top of the Flan. Don’t cut or turn hot or it will break and separate. Love it.Easy to make.Try it out.

That might heavily depend on where you're from and the health standards that are being applied.
I can promise you that in France, for exemple, that kind of things wouldn't fly, and it would even be considered a health hazard by authorities.
Regardless, it's a very fun fact to learn, so thank you for tonight's bit of culture !

This is called Torta de Leche. All latin American countries have their own version of it. Add butter and it becomes creamy, add allot and it becomes almost like flan. You can also add dried fruit raisins being the most typical dried fruit added. Add cinnamon to give it a spice flavoring and vanilla. You can also add banana the same way to make an upside down pineapple cake to have a banana topping after its been baked. Its incredibly delicious and like I said all Latin American countries have their own version of this.
