Before this, I actually owned a 2140. But I didn't like it so much as it looks fitting on my face with the 50mm. 54mm likewise is too big for me. So I recently just bought a 2140F as that is the only model that has the middle size (52mm) available. And what I always loved about Wayfarer designs is always about the pantoscopic tilt. So I was a little upset when I bought it without checking. Means to say that I bought it without any knowledge that 2140F pantoscopic tilt isn't as defined as 2140. So what I end up doing was, I did the tilt on my own.
Hi Kristen! Ive been wearing wayfarers for years but as regular eyeglasses not sunglasses. Ive always had issues with them slipping down my nose so I’m pretty stoked to see these may alleviate my problem! Thanks for the video! 😍
thanks for the nice comment, I have always liked them too :) and I love my 54's as well but the shape difference and disparagement between bridge and eye size sometimes still irks me but I try to roll with it these days lol
I'm so glad it was helpful!!! That means the world to me. I get sidetracked a lot and lose a lot of my points during my videos sometimes so that it was still good means a lot!
I like my 54s because they just kinda float on my face. And I just like bigger sunglasses in general. I did consider these for a bit, though. They’re a nice in-between. Good video.
Hey! "F stands for "Full-Fit" model. It evolved from previous "A" (Asian) model which is now discontinued. The A model then got evolved from "FE" (Far East) model which was targeted for the Japanese market in the 80s/90s during the B&L era. F got updated with the "holding" curvature of the temples and the deeper, more pronounced hooks. The shape of the nose pad is also different and updated, and the angle of that tilt is 5 degrees less. Thus more comfortable to wear and it can sit high. Luxottica discontinued size 50 because they think Asian males have bigger and wider faces. They are Italians. That's what they think..
I exchanged them because of the bridge not locking into place on that model that I had, and decided to just go ahead and return and get these. The 4105 is great because of the light weight, but these are still much better in terms of quality, the materials used and the comfort.
Hi kristen. In addition to the more prominent nosepads, is this frame less tilted than the classic one? An old problem with the classic wayfarer model is its pronounced pantoscopic angle. A lot of people complain about this because it favors to the glasses touch the cheeks.
Hi! :) Just my personal feeling, but I do get the sense that the tilt is less on these. It feels less and looks less compared to the original 2140. They didn't bother my cheeks nearly as much. I hope this answer helps in some way
Hi Kristen! I’m trying to buy them, but in my country (Spain) this model isn’t on the website. Do you know if I can buy them on the usa website? Do you know if the taxes would be very high? Thank you!
Hi!! Yes I think you can buy them on the official Ray Ban site ( the USA one), if you just type in RB2140F, that should bring you to them. Unfortunately I have no idea about the costs. I've never tried to buy from an int'l Ray Ban site, other than my own country, so I'm not sure if it'll let you ship there from the USA if your country or region has it's own RB site. You could also try ebay, if you just look at the feedback and photos if you feel comfortable with that. Sorry I don't have better advice.
Hi! I don't recall having to do much at all, I think I just left one in a bowl of hot water for around 20-30 second increments till I could bend it slightly inward and downward and make it sit even with the other side. Are you having the same issue?
Hi kristen.. Is that true rb2140f has a crooked and straight frame ? Because mine is straight frame no need to adjust.. im just confius, some say yes its straight and they say its also have diffrent batch and version for frame rb2140f depends on year.. some people say no its not straight, their answer is look like crooked frame and slighty sloping.. ill buy it from online shop.. . Really dissatisfied.. then i go for rayban boutique vendor its also say no straight frame, its come crooked and slighty sloping not very sloping like rb2140 first model.. please i need answer from u.. or you can add video, reviewing how slanting and crooked they are.. thanks..
I have, but not the polarized. Have had a few polarized ones over the years and it didn't make much difference to me personally so I haven't gotten any in a while :)
@@jijojacobmathew657 That will depend on your personal opinion so I cant say for you. I just know it's more comfortable to wear longer than the original 2140 ( not F) because the other has more tilt.
@@KristenLB You won't believe it, i bought the Inverness modelo hahha and probable getting Clubmaster too soon, what do You think? Yes Chris model is very light so i kinda regret not buying it.
Super slick sunglasses Kristen! You should totes review the new but old Saratoga Sunglasses by American Optical that were just released. They're the same ones that President JFK wore. Super nice sunglasses but also super expensive haha. Anyways thanks for another review!
I just got the 4340 Wayfarer Ease. Everything I've seen says they are acetate, and the material looks and feels just like the 2140 I had before. They even have the same deep purple tint when held up to light. I thought about getting these 2140-F but decided on the 4340 because I wanted the smaller classic lens size. They do tend to slide down my nose after prolonged wear, though, which can be annoying. The 2140 stayed put, but they dug into my cheeks so hard they left marks, so I had to get rid of them.
I totally understand the digging in feeling. It's listed as propionate on their official site and idk if you've noticed but the colors look fuzzy with a really thick gloss coating. Looks very similar to acetate but I've found it to be different! It's still a good material, I just preferred sticking with what I like to work with adjustment wise but didn't mean anything against it! What color did you get?
@@KristenLB So I looked on the website and sure enough all the Wayfarer Ease models show as "injected" for frame material. Weird. I had both for a short time and, apart from the lens tilt, I honestly could not tell the difference. Pretty happy with mine, though. You said propionate is harder to adjust?
@@mrdisco99 I think it takes a little more skill to get the temperature right to adjust so I've heard but I hear they resist heat warping better than acetate actually :)

I'm sold! Ordered mine today because of youuuuuuu.. Thanks for the review! Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
I'm really glad I could help, thank you so much for the comment!!
They look REALLY good. Like the 2140 size 54 without the subtle design change that comes with that size. Awesome.

RB 2140 the best sunglasses all the time. No cap

I like those too! Thanks for watching!
They suit you amazing! I think I'll buy the same model RB2140F, I'm trying to find the most similar ones to those Tom Cruise wore in Risky Business.
I like the vintage revo sunglasses

One more thing... you recently reviewed the RB4105 folding wayfarers, too. Did you get rid of them for these? How do they compare?

Hey how are you? How did you go about fixing extreme curve in the frame?

I just realized that not all rb2140 are tilt. I think the tilt one is better look. What do you think kristen?😊😅
What is the comfort level , when it is compare with new wayfarer
I'd say it's just as comfortable, just slightly more heavy because 2140f is acetate and 2132 is lighter weight nylon
