Just got the 2140s and I'm totally in love. It's like they were made for my face/shape and just look right. I also don't really have any issues with the angle or my cheeks. Very cool to switch between these and my Aviator's now depending on my needs.
10 years ago I tried my friend's original wayfarers and ever since then I've been manually tilting my sungrasses the same way, I prop my glasses arms off my ears onto my temples. I just really love the tilt feeling, just feels way more secure on my nose, I really thinking of getting my own original wayfarers now, it's been too long.
@@daanishmalik896 So I tried both rb2140 and rb4340 but they hurt both nose and head after some time. I guess it's a heavy glasses problem at this point.
The blonde guy was interrupting the other guy with the information i wanted. The sizing info with the animation was super helpful. Please consider adding the weight of each piece. Thanks!
I just today find out about the 4340, that it even exists.. I was hangin out with a friend and we swapped them for a while, like 30 minutes or so.. (I have 2140s custom matte black paint, darkening foil film applied with own engravings on the inside).. Now I think it is a tiny little bit more comfortable however I cant really say that it blocks more sun that comes from the top, at least not in my case anyway.. It was just as bad as with any other wayfarer type glasses I tried.. But maybe its just me and my eye shape or w/e, not going to buy those 4340 tho, I dont think so.. The tilt is actually something what makes 2140s unique and legendary, and I somehow appreciate that.. Nice video tho

Thanks for commenting and watching our video Rocking Rolling! The RB4340 is a great pair of sunglasses and has been a hot commodity since they were released :)
I've had the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Black Leather RB2140QM sunglasses with prescription/transition lenses for about 4 years. They look cool but were heavy and the "leather" material gets slippery when you sweat. The arm broke off recently so I went to my eye doctor to swap out my lenses into a classic black Wayfarer...The only black Wayfarer she had in stock was the RB4340-V. She didn't tell me anything about the "tilt" or "no tilt" or any other details but they had the classic look I wanted and she popped my old prescription lenses right into them. Bam!They are lighter and just look awesome as usual.RB 4340-V 2000 50/22 150My old lenses do NOT fit perfectly as I feel them moving around when I clean the lenses. That is fine just as long as a lens doesn't fall out and break or get lost.I have a vintage pair of Wayfarers with the "tilt" and this new Wayfarer Ease model and like them both.
Hello! Unfortunately, lenses that are cut to a specific frame will only work/fit with that particular model. Even if the sizing is close but not perfect, there's a high risk of damaging the frame and/or lens when trying to install lenses that are not designed for the frame in question.
Love the 4340s, but consider: the 2140s also help prevent eyelashes from blinking oils onto the lenses!! Also, please lose the ADD dude on the right who adds zero value to your presentation. Thank you
@@MarcosA2976 they dig into your cheeks if you have big cheeks and the song gets in through the top if you don't wear a hat it's all about your face shape
Do these new 4340 have the same high quality acetate as the original? I remember the New Wayfarers were cheap and plasticky feeling compared to the original 2140.
It's actually injected! You can check the Ray Ban website, under materials of that frame. I did look at the 4340 recently and it feels a lot more sturdy, heavy and durable than what you find in the New Wayfarer.
Hi Mariano! The pantascopic tilt is one of the defining features of the RB2140 Original Wayfarer. Authentic frames will have this feature. Unfortunately, if your frame does not have the tilt, that warrants concern. If you purchased from an authorized dealer, I would recommend reaching out to the seller!
Hello, I have a polarized 4340, but my eye is reflected in the lens with the reflection of the sun, is that normal or is it a fault? it becomes annoying
Hi! At certain angles when light is hitting the backside of the lens, some people do notice the reflection of one's eyes. While it's not too common, a great way to combat this is to opt for an 8 base wraparound frame in order to block any light entering from the sides. OR, if Rx is required, you can choose to apply an Anti-Reflection coating to the backside. Hope this helps!
Good question! While both models use a triple barrel hinge, they are of different types with dissimilar angles. Not only that, the design of the temple piece in relation to how it connects and forms to the frame chassis is also unique to each model. The result would be an improper fit at that particular connection point, putting strain on both the temple and frame front. If you're looking for less pantoscopic tilt, opt for the 4340 or the 2130 sunglass models. Hope this helps!
Hi guys, thanks for the very usefull video. I've just got myself the RB4340. They offer a really good look and style, however, I'm not quite sure if that's a right size for me as they seem to be a little bit too narrow and tight. Perhaps you could give me some general suggestion whether that's ok, when the sides of the temples are bending outward, making a front of the glasses look a bit narrow. Thanks. Pav.
Hey Pav! This is a great observation on the fit of your sunglasses. Typically, if the temples are visibly bending outwards, this is a sign that the frame is too small. It can also create an uncomfortable fit. Unfortunately, the RB4340 is only available in one size but have you considered the RB2140 Original Wayfarer in the 54 eyesize? At 1:07, Rob talks about how the Original has a pantascopic tilt- so it fits a bit differently, but is essentially the same look as the RB4340. If you're not a fan of the tilt, two other frames to suggest: RB2132 New Wayfarer or the RB4165 Justin! Both are available in larger sizes.
In the beginning of the video the guy on the right had on some cool small prescription Ray-Ban frames so can you tell me what the model number is for the frames he had on at the beginning of this video?

H! Great informative video! One question though - can we swap lenses between 2140 and 4340? Got 2140 in polarized and 4340 in g15. Love 4340 more and want to take polarized out of 2140 and add to 4340. Can this be done, please?
SportRx update: i change my optical glass into the 4340 an it fits to 98% but it fits. Its like you dress into a 1 size smaller jeans. This tilt from 2140 makes me crazy
The RB4340 aka as the Wayfarer Ease is such a great frame. They fit better, they hold better on the face. The only problem of this frame is the colours offered. It's as if @ray-ban decided to choose the ugliest colours of their catalog. I had the chance to buy the RB4340 646/1M. They are great and have a beautiful colour. I wanted to buy a second pair, but it seems they are not made anymore. I'm only left with the ugly Havanas (National Health Insurance basic) styles or black offered by Ray-Ban.
SportRx hey thanks for quick response. I like your channel. Definitely going for the 50 for that tilt 😊. Black is classic buy I think tortoise give more vintage look 👀
Hi Ajay! The RB2140 has a pantascopic tilt of about 65 degrees while the RB4340 is about 85 degrees. These are approximate but you can see how there is a significant difference between the Wayfarer vs Wayfarer Ease. Hope this helps!
The original wayfarer size 54 has that "badboy/biker" look which I really like but the shape of the medium sized wayfarer is slightly better. I wish there was something in between. Don't like the "modern" wayfarer. Some things are meant to stay classic.
