okay i didn't actually kill pet simulator x, but i preston/big games has recently been in huge drama on roblox. i was able to get a hashtag trending to show support against the recent dmcas filed on behalf of dmca. theres just been a ton of roblox drama surrounding pet simulator x. so yea

It’s really sad to see big games like this now. Back then Preston and big games were actually a pretty good company always caring abt the community and actually agenst p2w but this was before pet sim x chrismas update 2021. After that prestone started to slowly become like this and its really sad to watch since i used to play a lot of the games he made like pet sim 1 and X and big paintball 😢

sure, maybe in the eyes of the law it’s not the same thing, but to me they are. Take that shark pet at 2:00 for instance. The face is practically the exact same but just “more styalized”: pupils are a slightly different color + glint, eyes are slightly bigger, mouth is slightly bigger, secondary face color part is slightly bigger, overall shark color is slightly different. I’d say you’d be disingenuous to say they’re different when it’s only slightly off.
sure, he doesn’t own box pets obviously, but you can’t ignore how popular his garbage game became. it’s not surprising a bunch of money-grubbing devs borderline stole assets and (equally) trash gameplay for the sake of money. I can’t think of many sims that had similar gameplay of his at the time since I remember the simulators at least being unique in gameplay and style, such as Bubblegum Sim and that Bee Keeper sim.
in the end this whole thing is stupid and I want everyone to lose. Cube pets are terrible and reward laziness with monumental profits. I do believe those devs are copying-at the very least making their assets based off of his, such as layout/style of gamepass shop-but to take legal action against it seems over the top to me. (though I guess that’s because I still see Roblox as a small thing with tiny groups of people or individuals making games compared to the usual giant AAA studios, which have the resources for real world legal shit)
