Just so everyone knows, paper 3 is quite heavily focused on practical based knowledge, and calculations.
I hate calculations do yk which type or calculations or wt %?
@@samkat8410 about 10%. I’m horredous at maths though and I’ve just done a practice paper and got an a. It’s such a small proportion
@@luciegm3236 that’s comforting 😭 the maths is awful. did you focus on theory or practical revision for p3? also, did you revise topics that were heavy in p1/p2 like immunity/muscles?

when i read the essay title and saw “the importance of membrane for cells…” i was so happy 😭😭😭i watched the essay video u posted and did a practice essay on that this morning. you’ll always be my goat miss🫡🫡

the essay questions were from aqa a level biology UNIT 5 2013 , they just reused it
Might be retaking if I don’t get a b+ which is a possibility, especially if paper 3 is 🤮 so may get another 8-9 months of watching this great channel. Discovered this channel too late icl.

Hi, was just wondering if it’s ok to use the same/ similar AO2 in multiple paragraphs in the essay? For example, if talking about cycles can you say in one paragraph ‘the importance of the cardiac cycle is to produce oxygen for aerobic respiration which produces ATP for metabolic processes etc’ and then in the next paragraph say ‘the calvin cycle is important because it produces a hexose sugar such as glucose which is needed for respiration in the glycolysis stage, this is important because glycolysis produces ATP for metabolic processes etc’. Can’t figure out if the reason they are important must be from a different spec point each time. Thank you for the video!

say if we get given some information which is out of the spec (application questions) at the start, can we use that information in the essay as the 'out of the spec' part?
id say don’t because there’s no garuntee that it’s true, or they might’ve altered the names of conditions, medicine etc
Hi miss Estruch , for today essay , I wrote membrane topics that you suggest and also cystic fibrosis. However the question is asking “ important to functioning cell” do you think it will be a issue if I didn’t keep linking back to “cell” as I just linked to organism ….. thanks
yeh i did organism too, i’m sure it’ll be fine though as organisms are made up of cells lmao. and if you referenced membranes a lot it would help

Yeah but as it’s an essay you need time to plan too
Yeah 40-45 minutes. For each question in each exam it works out as 1.3 minutes per mark, so 25 marks does work out at about 40 minutes, and then a bit extra for plan

This might be silly but if you use “out of spec examples” using the statistical analysis question studies would you get those out of spec marks? Like if there’s a question on a specific neurotransmitter/drug could you use that to potentially get those highest marks? Thank you thank you for all the help 🫶🏻
