    Hey John , Everyone is teaching reloading, and interviewing people. How bout a series of how to shoot. Like trigger pull, follow through, how to hold , scope picture, cheek weld , and such. Seems not much out on this .

      Have you not met the internet? Everyone already knows how to shoot. It’s only the gear that separates the good from the can’t hit the broad side of a barn with a shotgun…. All joking aside, I did find some good stuff some of the service rifle UA-camrs around that.

    Thanks for the Trigger Cam view! And, I have to agree, it's worse that what your eye actually sees. I had the opportunity at a recent match to compare my Trijicon Tenmile 5-50 against a Vortex Razor (30x) a Kahles 50x, a Nightforce and the March 8-80 in the same conditions. In the afternoon match I was back to 30x due to mirage the March guy on my target was at 70x. That's 60% max power vs 87.5% and a full 40x difference. HUGE !!! I will say the Trijicon's glass (at least in my opinion) was at least as good as both the Nightforce and the Kahles and, better than the Razor

    Awesome Scope! I have a friend here in South Texas & he has one on a Savage rifle, the scope cost more than 4 times than the rifle. But to each they’re own, if he’s happy, we’re all happy…

    Love mine with the MTR-WFD reticle. Shot in the Louisiana State Championship match and had very bad mirage. Was just barely able to tell the rings on the target so used the edge of the target and the reticle to wind calls and had a horizontal line that just happened to line up with a berm for elevation holds. Had to back off to about 7 power but having the ability to go to a magnification that aligned with the target was very helpful.

    Nice scope. Sadly it would probably put me over weight on my F-TR rifle. But who knows, may move up to Open some day. Thanks for sharing.

      I know a couple people using them on TR setups but it's definitely tricky.

    It’s certainly an impressive scope John, I wonder if you could help me out even though I’m not a F-Class shooter. My scope is 15” in length and is fitted to a 35 MOA rail meaning my ocular centre is 0.146” above the objective lens centre in relation to the height over bore measurement, so do I measure the scope height from the front or rear. Or because the front of my scope is 20 inches from the muzzle crown do I subtract (0.0097” x 20) which equals 0.194” from the objective centre height and use that because that will be the height over bore at the muzzle (35 MOA every inch = 0.0097”). Now you know my predicament same scope but three different height over bore measurements, please could you help John🤞.

    Is nice. Atmosphere still kills it. But nothing can fix that. Great scope nonetheless

    I would love to have that scope.
    It would make a great companion to my ZCO 840. 👍

    I read that over fifty power all scopes will have the same problem. 😢

    Also, for my learning as I'm relatively new to F Class, in this viewing (through the Trigger Cam) at 80x you say you could run with that even with the mirage we're seeing. But, you're getting anywhere from 2.5 - 4 inches of "bounce" of your POA. Would you actually shoot that and, just split the difference of bounce in your POA? Would you send it at the bottom or top of the bounce? Or, would you dial it back until the bounce was essentially gone? From your statements in this vid, I think maybe I've been dialing back too much and losing some advantage of X (magnification factor). Thanks!

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  11 місяців тому +3

      There’s no right answer when it comes to dealing with Mirage. Some people are very successful. Dialing back, and others are good at shooting through it, and there are advantages for both. I shoot the bounce on the bottom swing typically.

    you probably already stated, but is this FFP or SFP? I think they offer both?

    • @jamesbower1511

      You can clearly see in the video its ffp.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  11 місяців тому +2

      It's a second focal plane scope. For F-Class you want a SFP scope as opposed to something like PRS where you want a FFP.
      Currently this scope is only available in SFP.

    bought this scope not because of f class but its not worth the money its really nice to have but at 50 power after that it turns day into night its so dark at 80x its useless buy something else i have no clue what f class was seeing it was shocking how dark the scope gets
