Hello everyone and thank you for watching this PlanesWeekly video!
This week we bring you back in the cockpit. This time in a plane type for PlanesWeekly, the Danish Air Transport ATR-72-600. Now we've been flying jumpseats in a lot of turboprop aircraft, and the ATR is just great. This was shot on a short domestic flight from Bornholm to Copenhagen, which is around a 35 min flight.
We hope everyone is staying safe! As soon as we are able to we will be recording a lot more videos for you. For now, we hope everyone will be happy with the material we have :)
Safe and happy flying!

So do you prefer the Dash 8 or ATR? ✈️Have a look at our Dash 8 cockpit videos for comparison ✈️

The only thing against Dash 8 is the problem with its landing gears
I kinda like both! Also,i really liked the landing! It was awsome!
DASH 8
@@amjad6978 not really
Both
That touchdown was like butter.🧈
Jezz. When your are an airbus guy, and then hear those GPWS callouts 🤣🤣
Hahaha
@Joshua A not the gpws, thats differnet
@Joshua A yes
I'm not a pilot so I don't entirely get the joke, is it because of Airbus saying "retard"?
@@JustRememberWhoYoureWorkingFor No, it’s the voice in the ATR that sounds so weird when you’re used to hear the deep airbus voice. I wish I was a pilot, but I’m only just a flight simmer😆
It was a very smooth landing
I began my flying career with the ATR, now I'm a F/O A330/A350. Miss flying this bird.
Have you ever flown the Dash 8?
@@Repented008 As a PAX yes!
The A350 is my dream plane ! All the best to you
Really lucky man !!😊
Turboprops sound so manly! They get me every time!
Man i love the CPH approach soooooo much!
That landing seemed smooth as butter
Why is the first officer taking contol of the plane just after touchdown?
He helped his Captain due the winds to keep the plane on the centerline I think
Due to crosswind he helped point ailerons into the wind while captain was on the tiller
There is only one tiller in ATR which is on captain’s side
That's standard on the ATR at 70kts the lateral control is transferred from the rudder to the tiller which is only on captain's side. With the captain's hand on both the tiller and power levers, the first officer is tasked to take the yoke, keep the ailerons into the wind until such time the gust lock is engaged. Once gust luck is engaged, the yoke will not move and the first officer can let got of it.
Atr it’s an excellent aircraft to fly, although it’s a joint venture with airbus the flying characteristics and flying philosophy it’s a mix between dash, Fokker, Jetstream, and Airbus, that’s what makes it so cool to fly, gets the best of everyone, very nice video thank you.
I flew on the ATR-72 LAST SUMMER FROM ÄNGELHOLM, SOUTHERN SWEDEN TO MY NATIVE STOCKHOLM. GREAT AIRPLANE!! STURDY AS A ROCK!!
1:17 That’s a BADAAS GWPS!
I see a lot of comments about the GWPS calls, I'm not a pilot so what's so special about them? Maybe because the voice has a slightly different accent?
Amazing view from this Atr
Nice Cockpit view well done Capt and Pilot 👨✈
That's as good as it gets. :) Awesome landing!
exciting to follow the pilots and what they do
Buttered...🛬🛬
Atr 72-600 amazing. I would like to fly it
Got some turboprop flight simulator vibes coming in
Here.
Those GPWS calls I have never heard!
Excuse me I'm not a pilot, what's so special about those calls? To me they sound exactly like those in other plane types in other videos
Hard too bone up a landing in that airplane!
ATR = 1960’s Volkswagen bus with wings
Does anyone know the reason for why the pilot in the right seat takes over after touchdown?
I want to be pilot, im not sure between q400 and atr72 which ill chose to fly
The same thing plane American Eagle 4184 was
4 thicc engines nice
Mike en Mike no the atr has 2 engines
I think I heard air police
Anh that was the whooler, for pitch trim.
Aır bus cockpit XDDD
