    Excellent explanation if I would only understand this hard accent. 😂 And he speaks so undestinctive.

    Great video as always. Funny that a modern aircraft like this still gets fitted with ashtrays - is there a reason for this that you're aware of?

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  3 роки тому +3

      The answer is because people still ignore the rules. Therefore, in case passengers and pilots are ignorant and place an aircraft's safety in danger by smoking in the lavatories or in the cockpit, it remains a requirement to have an ashtray.

    Thanks for the great job explaining the seats Capt. just one Question, What is the use of the red paint brush behind you at 6:00??

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  3 роки тому

      The brush is used to remove dust from the screens.

    7:51 Hi Magnar, Question asked by an viewer: Why is there an Ash tray? Smoking allowed? Thanks

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  2 роки тому +1

      There's an ash tray in the lavatory, too. It is a regulatory requirement that ash trays are installed in the lavatory and in the cockpit, even when smoking is not allowed. Maybe it's time to revise the regulations?

    Which variant of the ATRs do you prefer flying ?

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  3 роки тому +3

      The 42-600, which I haven't flown. I have flown the 42-500 and the 72-600. When you combine the performance and handling of the 42-500, and the glass cockpit of the 600, you get my favourite ATR.

      @@FlywithMagnar Definitely the best one for sure ! I hope you will have the opportunity to fly it and share with us but not so many airlines have it unfortunately, compared to the 72...

    Hii captain .. about the seat arrangement. When i try positioning my seat to the atr recommended way i have hard time looking the top of the EADI. I feel like i am seating too high and the bottom of the glare shield panel blocks the view so i sit a bit lower.

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  2 роки тому

      The position is intended for landing in Cat II conditions. What I do, is to adjust the seat so I can see the instruments and, by leaning a little forward, can see over the glare shield.

    What's the paint brush hanging on the back panel for ? to clean the dust off the instrument panel ?

    I wonder why ATR still has headphone jack when they have already the single jack for boomset (headphone+mike) ?

    Do you ever feather the props when you really meant to set 40 degree flaps?

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  Рік тому +2

      Never. Never have I seen any pilot do it. The shape and operation of the controls are very different.

    Could you still communicate with other flight crew member while wearing the quick donning mask during emergency?

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, there's a microphone inside the mask.
