@@thesnoms1492 I'm trying to remember when Riku lost to Roxas. Riku beat him unconscious, then dropped the Keyblade and turned his back. Roxas woke up and took the Keyblade, using 2 of them against an unarmed Riku. Riku blocked with his arm, which hurt him. Roxas was gonna go on the offensive again, but Riku tapped into the full power of the Darkness inside of him and squeezed the consciousness out of Roxas, making him drop his Keyblades and having them disappear.
There is a way to loop him so he only does 2 attacks (it even skips his dm the strat is like the one in the video). I believe you have to unequip all combo+ and only do 1 finisher per combo or something. The fight gets really easy with this loop once you learn how to deal with the 2 attacks he does during that. It's actually how I beat him on my critical lvl 1 run.
Its not that hard in Critical, but LV1 i can see being difficult seeing as most of my strategy would be inaccessible, but i admit he does make this look easy
My 8 year old brother saw me doing the data fights on KH3 on critical. He told me that he wanted to play all of the Kingdom Hearts games. So me and him have gone through KH1, CoM, and just barely finished KH2. He has beat every boss by himself and he beat roxas without once more or second chance because he picked the sword at the beginning. He was at level 40 on beginner, but still. I thought it was a massive achievement.

I can defeat roxas without hitting him, abilities, magic, drive, damage, summons, items, armor, accessories, and with sweet memories. On kh2 vanilla, you only get a cutscene of roxas' defeat
It's funny you have to clarify this because in Europe (I don't know for the US) we had to wait until 2.5 to finally get our hands on KH2 Final Mix + and the Roxas fight, so most of us remember quite well we only had a cutscene back then 😅 I have to admit I hadn't expected such a brutal fight
Dude me and my cousin struggled so hard with this fight, it took like 3 days of nonstop fighting and learning when Roxas attacks until we finally beat him, on normal mode
This goes without saying, I'm sure... dude dont worry about those dislikes , I've been playing through kingdom hearts for the first time in my life, and everytime I get stuck on a boss I come to you.. I have not used the "no exp"ability, but my first playthrough of KH1 was the final mix on proud, and I'm on "the world that never was" right now in kh2 final mix, on the roxas fight, and sometimes all it takes to beat a boss, is to approach it differently... insanity is repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome, hence the rage induction players experience. But you show me little tricks, you're obviously very passionate about kingdom hearts, you've got the rhythm down. Thank you for all of these videos.

If I may ask, the cutscene after roxas loses and Roxas and Axel are on the clocktower, is that in the past? Or is that axel/Roxas meeting up in some kind of spirit connection before Roxas fades?
This fight is making me have an existential crisis . I guess I just really suck I’m currently at lvl 40 on crit I mange to get him to his last bar then he fucks me over . I can’t say it’s fun
Watch Bizkit047’s data org guide. He pretty much covered the basic strategies for each fight. I could add some extra stuff for each fight but his video is still helpful for people struggling with them.
I like the video,as usual Will,but I prefer my tactic I had used before.Probably because I'm at least a bit Biased as to the fact it's not only my first tactic but also the fact of it being my first and only tactic to use Revenge Value (and if you wonder why I don't use Revenge Value in other tactics it's because I don't know A:how to use it properly,or B:how it even works).Anyway great video as always Will
I only know of revenge value in the opponents advantage. If you do a certain amount of finishing combos, the opponent will react and change his/her movesets to make it harder on you. Though I only know Terra to REALLY be the guy who will abuse that method show you get to much combos on him
Its important because if you know how many "finish" combos it takes to trigger an enemy's counterattack, you use it to your advantage to stop before releasing the final "finish" combo and it will lock them in the same combos for a repeat
I am simply amazed. I've watched so many videos of this fight and this one just blew me away. I am playing at beginner and don't know how to do all that you are doing. But then I just picked up video gaming again after 30 yrs on a PS5 which I got as a retirement gift, so not as dexterous as all you young veterans out there. Appreciate your video. Could you please tell me with the KK blade what abilities you are using and what abilities you have unequipped. I have watched your video at slow speed several times and I understand the concept of attacking 2-3 times and drawing back before Roxas retaliates. I get hit badly in the first move and have to use Reflect but I don't see you using that. I am just not getting what moves you are using when you attack. I have Decisive Pumpkin and I am at level 54, strength 42, Magic 36, Def 41, HP 100, MP 110, AP 81, all drive forms (don't have Final obviously) at level 6 (max I can get at present). Thanks so much.
@@APY-fh8ek It's not that the health bar is half depleted but that the first hp bar is half the size, that's why it's grayed out instead of half empty,
What’s the reliable way to not get the attack where he jumps into the air and spins down on you? I can deal with everything else, but that attack breaks the pattern and I’ll get killed during the transition.
How'd you make him die so good? What a pro. I gotta get to that level one day. Maybe not. I don't have the patience for all the grinding. I liked how you could cheat on PC on PCSX2. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I appreciated the watch.
I'm having trouble with phase 2, I can dodge the dm but I have a real hard time dealing with the OO Wave, he keeps starting it on top of me and I always take a hit when I use dodge-roll. This vid may help me deal with the dodge roll timing by just slide-dashing in but I still get unlucky on his little light-warp
@@WillJV2 is there a safe way to dodge during his DM? I like your way because avoids it completely, but I just can't get a solid IF to try to lock him on that pattern
If you aren't the right level for this you will fail. Currently level 42, and every vid I have seen of people beating this boss clearly have more abilities and me. I would kill to swap out my parry for a dash dark souls style.
WTF...I'm playing kh2 on android now and when i'll reach to roxas Battle, I'll try It myself... This, on critical, seems like nothing. Seems like you didnt give roxas amy chance of attack; more or less, you Just spammed attack combo and dodged his limits attacks. Its not like you made It look Easy, It IS easy! But maybe I'm wrong.
Make it look so easy. How come he didnt rush into the middle, float up, swing his blades aruond and start firing balls? Its at about half health and scripted for me, happens every time.
@@WillJV2 Right after posting this, after hours of failing (hence looking up these fights), i switched to the pumpkin keyblade and killed him in 3 or 4 combos. It happened so quick it completely caught me by surprise. Id even forgot to put in Reflega after coming back from levelling my forms a bit, thought to myself "i need to put that back in for next try" and then didnt need to :D
you don't understand how the game works if that's what you think. Clearly didn't level up at the end of the fight lmao. 1. it's literally not possible to level up from boss fights in the game. 2. You gain bonuses and abilities from winning certain fights.

Reflect a lot and use Duck Flare and you'll be solid. Took me like 10 tries to get it down

I also just noted that the video starts with Roxas's first health bar already half depleted, maybe you didn't record the very beginning of the fight.

what'd you do to avoid getting hit at the start of the fight? Did you dodge roll or guard?

this particular combo setup + proper distancing will force him to only use two attacks the entire fight

No explanation. How much ap and what abilities and your not level 1 since you leveled up at end of the fight

No, it’s not like KH1. Defeating bosses don’t give you EXP anymore. Instead, they’re Level Up Bonus.
