Its actually not that bad. Actually, its really mild compared to many hifi setups. Having a lot of power and big subwoofer doesn't mean you have to use it full on. I mean I have 1200W RMS going to two main speakers and on 12" subwoofer in my apartment and I have had zero complaints from my neighbors in my whole life. The setup can literally shake the whole room/apartment, but I know when to be quiet and I always inform my neighbors that they can knock on my door if its too loud.
@@AmmarMalik Nah. I mean the bass element on that Sony is quite big, but because it has so little power, it has to be really sensitive, meaning that it lacks control and/or it cant go really low. Mids and treble dont need as much power, but such little power to such a big element=not good. Having power gives more control I dont need to play things that loud to hear everything. Bass is there without noise levels rising to over 100db. Yes, you can crank it until the sofa starts moving, but you dont need to.
@@lknowledgepeople don't understand that speakers with 5" drivers are too small to get low distortion on low frequencies. You can do that, but it is difficult. 8 inch is the sweet spot, but still, a lot goes into design, especially port to reduce baffling. A smaller woofer doesn't make it better at low volumes. What matter is the room acoustic and the volume. I still don't like the idea of having a single subwoofer, but for HIFI, if you are at least 3/4 meters away from the speakers, it can be okay. For monitor speakers, absolutely not.
My father has similar "audio tower", which is used almost exclusively by him in the yard. And the power is useful if he has any party in his yard. But the fact that such big and expensive device does not have FM radio module is completely absurd to me. How expensive it would be to insert FM radio module? 5 dollars? 10 dollars? And FM radio module is a blessing if you want to hear some news or completely random music while you work in yard. So I assume this is inside only, but I find those have the most usefulness outdoor.
Thats exactly what its sold for.all in one utlra portable pa system that can be paired to more if you need it. Bt speakers being so damn good now adays... I feel spoiled compared to before and im only 34
@@caseyrice768 you would use mutiple , they can link wirelessly using bt in ldac. You could make a fairly reasonable soundstage with 4 of them. you wouldnt have to blast the volume to fill the room comfortablebly.

Ya Especially since its just 140w which won't be loud enough in a bigger outdoor space. Quiet a few sound bars can reach 140w. my basic entry level car audio components (4+4) are 40W a channel. 160w total in a hatchback.

I work selling Sonys, we had 2 in one month. Sold both the next month. This is as close to 1000watts as it could be when the ULT button is pressed. Most speakers that claim 1000watts cap the level of power you can put through the thing. (I suspect to stop them blowing up)
Where do you get 1000W from? Sony says 140W in the spec sheet, 140W is way more than most people think because in the speaker industry sooo many companies have been exaggerating their numbers a lot.. Soundboks is the loudest battery-powered Bluetooth speaker, that has a 216W amplifier.

ehhh its cool, but at this price point and power I'd just rather go with an actual P.A system like LD Systems Maui 5 Go for 700 euros, or if I want to upset my neighbors in the city across from me I could get a dB Technologies ES1002 for the same price as this Sony tower. Of course neither of these options have LED, which is absolutely shocking.... to someone I'm sure
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Sony audio products. They may not be the absolute best, but if you want some speakers or headphones to listen to some rave music, they're generally reliable for that sort of thing.

Guys we are not there with you, you need to change angle to allow us to see what you see ? Plus not everyone is gonna use that full bluetooth, and even, you don"t always want to have your phone in your hands, being able to raise volume or go to the next song with a physical button is still bloody frequently used :D

This is considerably more expensive than most PA speakers, you'd think they'd include a few XLR inputs so you could use this as a PA. I get that the point is to be a simple to use bluetooth speaker, but for half the price you could get a PA speaker and hook a bluetooth adapter up to it (or two PAs for the same price).
but can you take 5 of them and make a dolby atmos surround system with it? fun fact, crackling is part of the crab rave song. its really bad when you have high end shit. i have a very expensive desktop setup (dac/amp + headphones) and yeah, when songs have issues, you hear it. because it will reproduce any song issues. crab rave is really bad in that regards and people dont know because they are used to shit gear that hides song issues.
Put that overpriced garbage next to anything good, and it's limitations get shown up... fast. Try a Roland Cube 120xl bass, it's about a third of the cost, though doesn't have blutooth. It would blow this monstrosity away.
Awful review tbh. The slot on top is obviously for a tablet for doing karaoke. The rave lights did nothing as they are obviously music reactive. Should have shown them with music playing. He even says at end of review they are reactive to sound. Just feels like somebody reviewing a product he has little to no interest in. Not a personal pop at the guy just at the review.
Look, I'm slightly disappointed that this unboxing is incomplete. Dan did not in fact test the quality of the speaker as a karaoke machine by singing Shania Twain. I don't know if it was an editorial decision by Linus but I think it is a critical part of testing the device.
This is a speaker for people who have no clue about PA speakers but want similar performance for more than twice the price. And RGB. Srsly, just get a set of RCFs or something if you need loud & good.
Maybe you should do some research and figure out how many speakers the thing has before doing a video on it. the two things on the front bottom are not speakers. They are a port for the subwoofer. And what you said is probably speakers (???) on the back are not speakers.

I get that the point is to be a simple to use bluetooth speaker, but for half the price you could get a PA speaker and hook a bluetooth adapter up to it (or two PAs for the same price).
but can you take 5 of them and make a dolby atmos surround system with it?
fun fact, crackling is part of the crab rave song. its really bad when you have high end shit. i have a very expensive desktop setup (dac/amp + headphones) and yeah, when songs have issues, you hear it. because it will reproduce any song issues. crab rave is really bad in that regards and people dont know because they are used to shit gear that hides song issues.
Put that overpriced garbage next to anything good, and it's limitations get shown up... fast.
Try a Roland Cube 120xl bass, it's about a third of the cost, though doesn't have blutooth. It would blow this monstrosity away.
Awful review tbh. The slot on top is obviously for a tablet for doing karaoke. The rave lights did nothing as they are obviously music reactive. Should have shown them with music playing. He even says at end of review they are reactive to sound. Just feels like somebody reviewing a product he has little to no interest in. Not a personal pop at the guy just at the review.
Look, I'm slightly disappointed that this unboxing is incomplete. Dan did not in fact test the quality of the speaker as a karaoke machine by singing Shania Twain. I don't know if it was an editorial decision by Linus but I think it is a critical part of testing the device.
This is a speaker for people who have no clue about PA speakers but want similar performance for more than twice the price. And RGB.
Srsly, just get a set of RCFs or something if you need loud & good.
Maybe you should do some research and figure out how many speakers the thing has before doing a video on it. the two things on the front bottom are not speakers. They are a port for the subwoofer. And what you said is probably speakers (???) on the back are not speakers.
