In my world, 5’3” is considered tall! At 4’9” and 71 years old, I am quite vested in fashion and style. I am quite short and can definitely work with that without feeling any sense of shame or embarrassment about my height. Styling my outfits to compliment my height always makes me feel confident and secure in who I am and the persona I want to express. I’m not going to wear shoes that cause pain or discomfort. I also have to consider what could be potential dangers to injury. Pointed toe shoes and stiletto heels are a big no for me. Low pumps and kitten heels are my choice for formal or dress wear. I do enjoy wearing my platform Doc’s and sneakers on occasion as I love to dress a bit edgy at times! Clothing…I wear what I like always considering proportion, cut, fit, and style. Fashion is all about creativity and self expression. I shop all departments in a clothing store..ladies, juniors, men’s…as I am always happy to find that one piece that just takes my outfit to a new level. Have fun with it…burn the rule books and be you!
monakinnel - way to go 👍🏆 Continue doing YOU, not what some marketing exec has decided you must wear to feel good about yourself BS. Clothes should work for you not against with a big dose of FUN ❤
Orthopedic surgeons love very high heels. Why shouldn't you stay just petite?… is it better to be tall? You have to like your height. It is a matter of good taste. I have worn high heels most of my life and now be a senior I feel the consequences of those shoes.
Some very good tips! 👏 One very bad tip: pointed toes are harmful to feet, and even more harmful when combined with high heels.👎 By the way, from where I stand, 5'3" looks TALL!🙄
Good tips. But shoes.... of course you will look taller if you are wearing stiletto heels! However, many women can not wear either really high heels, or really pointed toes. The older one is, the more true this becomes. So... we have to rely on other tricks than shoes that can add 3-4 inches to our height. I wish I was in my early 20s again where I could wear these shoes! Now, with orthotics, bunions, etc, many of us 55+ are wearing the equivalent of mini canoes on our feet. ☹
Not everyone is comfortable in wearing high heels or pointed shoes. You can still look elegant when wearing a low heel or flats or a stylish sandal. Or what about a stylish sneaker? When choosing your outfits, you should consider your shape, your height, and your age. Did you ever see on the runway a model that isn’t tall,pin-thin etc. being short or tall is not important as having a healthy body. It cannot be denied that clothes fall aesthetically better on a slimmer body that is why that designers choose that type of model to showcase their designs. It’s only a very, very small percentage of the population. .
Just a suggestion. I don't like close fitting clothes all the time. I like to feel comfortable. I surely don't want to wear pointed toe shoes everyday. I am petite and I like it.
I just discovered your channel and thank you for these tips on petite dressing. At 67 years old, I do not wear heels except for a shorter block heel and pointed toe shoes hurt my toes. What do you suggest?
Harmonie, Eleganz und Stil kann man auch ausstrahlen ohne den Anspruch grösser und höher wirken zu wollen. Selbstverständlich darf man tragen was man will. Die Tipps sind gut, vermitteln aber das Vorurteil dass Schönheit mit Körpergrösse zu tun habe.
Tall people like heels as well. They realign the body in a sexy way. If you aren’t comfortable in heels there are many alternatives that are just as stylish.
Pointed toed shoes ruin feet, though going up a size gives added width to save the joints being damaged, it may not be worth the horror of foot surgery.
The high heel " thing " was a creation by men for burlesque entertainment, for fun, not fashion. If heels were " so good " why don't men wear them ??? Wake up ladies, healthy feet don't wear ridiculous Stiletto heels.
You do not talk about short hair and you keep talking about high heels like everybody is young and not all of us are young. I cannot wear high heels taller than an inch and you don’t even mention or give any suggestions for us. I am unsubscribing to your channel.

Wow, aren't you insecure. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being or looking short. .
Ha! You read my mind!

I just got back from The UK and Paris. Everyone is in trainers and dresses.
Very good advice especially the ankle strap and short boot look with skirts or dresses.

Generally speaking, when an actress says she is 5'3 that means she is at least one inch shorter...
