Thanks so much for the shoutout and for covering recovery runs Yowana! Super helpful insight! I realize I've been running my recovery runs too fast (need to slow down by at least a minute), and too long (usually over an hour). Making these changes will help run a true recovery effort, and hopefully equal stronger + more efficient speed workouts. Glycerin Max is also one of my fav recovery shoes. Perfect for cruising! I just got the Bondi 9 and have been loving them too. Great list! Thanks again! 😊🙌
@@Idlavirf not sure if this is directed to @supwell or myself, but both shoes are comfort oriented max cushion options with midsoles that strike that "Goldilocks Balance" between soft (not sink in/mushy) and firm (not stiff/rigid). I find the Glycerin Max better suited for cruising and recovery miles. Bondi 9 boasts more versatility and range in that it can handle recovery, but is perhaps best for easy daily miles with capacity to hit some uptempo paces. Hope this helps!
@ It was directed for you cause you have both. And thanks for the prompt response! Hmm so you would say that Bondi 9 is a bit more versatile due to a little firmer sole than Glycerin? I’m planning to have my 5-hour marathon this year, so which one do you think better for this long marathon? And which one is more comfortable?
Those brook Hyperion 2 are ridiculously good for the price!!! Thank you for the recommendation. Just got them today and went to the gym and it was great! I saw it from your top running shoes for beginners video!! 💯💯
I tried on a bunch of shoes yesterday for fun because my friend works at a marathon sports I did not like: New Bondi Neo Vista Topo Cyclone 2 Hoka Cielo x1 I did like: Metaspeed Sky Paris Glideride Max Mizuno Neo Zen
Ik ur a running channel but i was just wondering, Would your top 5 walking/standing shoe differ from your recovery shoe list? Ps love your running content keep up the good shit!
In subzero temperatures you should actually keep your face covered while running to prevent respiratory damage. Corrine Malcolm wrote an article for iRunFar a few years ago about it.
I was a little skeptical about the Glycerin Max, but the more I run in them during my long runs, the more I enjoy them. I have a feeling Brooks is just going to make random shoes and slap the word Max on it. Ghost Max, Glycerin Max, Adrenaline GTS Max, Ghost Max Max, Ghost Maxium Max. It's only a matter of time.
Great Review Yowana. I would like to ask if your going for a trip or vacation, will use the shoe majority for walks and can take it to a run for a free time, what shoe would you pick between the nimbus 27 and glideride max?
right now for me the most comfortable recovery shoe is New Balance Balos! super comfy, nice rocker, and the foam is soft but doesn't bottom out like the 10080 does which was my go-to recovery shoe that I had taken up to 300 miles.
You think it's worth upgrading to balos? I have 1080 v13 but while I like the cushion, I somewhat hate that sometimes I feel like I'm walking on sands if that makes sense. Or maybe because of the low heel/toe drop? It almost feels like the heel stack is lower than the toe if that makes any sense.
@@Kayy_SSif you think the drop is too low on the 1080 you'll likely have the same issue with the balos - geometry is similar and has even more of that low/flat feeling. I'd suggest the nimbus 27 or glycerin max
Puma mag max is my favorite for recovery. Perfect amount of firm to soft ratio. The glycerin max for whatever reason, is too firm for me. Idk if I haven’t broken them in enough but I don’t look for them when it comes to recovery…And they’re heavy as hell.
Novablast 5. Super comfortable. It has a lot of soft foam for easy recovery runs but it can also go fast. Buy two of them, one for daily training and one for more slower long endurance or recovery shorter runs. If you run walk then Gel-Nimbus or the 1080 might be better.
Love the novablast 5. For me it always encourages a faster pace but if I were going for a one or two shoe rotation it would be a top pick. Not as comfortable/cushioned as these for me but is solid all around
@ I agree. I’m getting three of them. That’s how much I’ve liked them over the previous versions. They’ll stay in my rotation for a while as my main daily and recovery shoes.
I somehow only use the glizzy for I dunno everything involving putting one foot in front of the other outside of a race. Brooks was always viewed by me as retirement home core. And I think it might still be. But glizzy we trust.
Yes if you have the time for it and they are true recovery efforts, you'll get a lot of benefits from adding 30 minute runs on those down days - stronger muscles, quicker recovery, more developed aerobic system. Just make sure to keep it relaxed and to fuel! Otherwise it won't be recovery
I personally like the 26 better for everyday miles - it's slightly firmer and more versatile. If you want the softest possible I'd go for the 1080 but 26 on sale is also great. Make sure to use that supwell running warehouse code for extra discount too!
@@supwell thanks for the info, I am kinda leaning towards the 1080v13 and they have it @ running warehouse so I can use the SUP code! Now that I am marathon training I see why a recovery shoe is important. Those speed workouts are bringing the DOMS.
I feel you man! I did my first hard repeat workout with 200s and 400s on Tuesday and was completely smacked yesterday. Adding in speed is a different beast. Btw you are looking so strong - that 22 miler you posted on the app was awesome
Honestly I try not to get them dirty in the first place 😂 mostly run on clean suburban streets and rarely bring out the light colored kicks on rainy days
I asked Yowana yesterday his thoughts on the Glideride Max and Magmax. He said the Magmax had a bit more tempo to it so it's good for steady efforts. I guess this video is a list of more pure recovery shoes whereas Magmax is broader for him.
Can a random fan ask for that mushroom sandwich recipe? I can figure out most of the visible ingredients but that sauce that's all over the kids mouths (and one forehead), share please. Thank you.
Unfortunately for me all of these type of shoes all have way too much upper..they're too heavy, too hot and most are too firm..if I want a recovery shoe I want it to be squishy, light wt and airy..a hot, heavy clog just puts more stress on the system when the system needs recovery...46f would be t-shirt and shorts weather when your blood is the consistency of bearing grease...😂
Bro, I feel if I listen to my body like that I’m sleeping in every day weather I feel tired or not I rip it up not talking about the speed but I mean get the miles done ever day just got to I can’t stop cuz I’ll stop lol idk y and this running thing is hard that what I say I never have a easy run. It’s always some kind of effort to run.
This guy's recovery pace beats my PR

Hi bro, I’m currently considering to buy one of those shoes. What’s your take on Glycerin Max vs. Bondi 9? Thanks in advance🍻

The cool thing about the Glycerin Max is that you can mix up some tempo work In them and it feels pretty great!

Ayyy I'm so glad to hear that! 🙌🏽 love that shoe

Supwell Kitchen!!! - that 🍄🍄🍄sandwich!!! OH MY GOSH!!! That looks amazing!!
1080v13s are still my goat recovery shoes. They’re just so dang comfy
Can I see it mommy can I see it mommy…life is good! Great running, great food & great family takes!
Your recovery pace is better than my anticipated marathon pace 🥲😂

I'd like to know this too. I don't run (only here and there) but I like these kind of running shoes so I wear them pretty much daily.

easy run: im past zone 2 by feel
recovery run: barely getting out of zone 1 due to fatigue
Ive never experienced this in my life and dont understand the runner that talk about it🤣i avg 50 miles a week😅
Moar V5 not making the cut?
Moore V5 Is my absolute favorite

Mushroom sando looked bangin!
I'm Canadian in the Arctic and ran minus -48 Celsius with wind chill recently. Pretty nuts but i have little choice at this point.

Wondering if you’ve tried Skechers Max Road 6? And your thoughts
Yes I enjoyed it! It's similar to the glycerin max - I have a first run review on the channel
Awesome, must have missed that one. I’ll check it out thanks.
I’m 290lbs+ running 13 mile easy pace. Where’s the shoe recommendations for big backs?
G-Max looks super comfy but I'm really trying to get to a very small rotation, which means versatility.
What about the nimbus vs glycerin 22?
Haven't tried the 22 yet! Looking forward to testing it soon
Newly released Salomon aeroglide 3 is a very nice shoe. Fits in this category and also is good longrun shoe.
I've seen a few posts about that shoe recently. I should check it out
@supwell had 1st run in them today easy 16 mile was pretty impressed, would like to see u review them
Haucony Hokacane needs more respect

If i am running 5 days a week then should I do recovery runs on the remaining 1or 2 days ??

is the Gel N 26 similar to the 27? I need a recovery shoe and the 26 is on sale.

I wipe mine down with water and a paper towel but they just aren’t as clean as yours - how do you keep them so clean???

Your recovery run pace is FAST!!! 🤯
Guess I’m not going to bed 😂😂😂. Can we get top 5 for temp days?
Sandwich gods 😮
Yes I like the recovery talk but the adios pro 4 or whatever video energy was on the other side of the spectrum
Hahaha gotta save that energy for the speed days
