By Time Erased: The Lost Murals of Renaissance Rome

Rome’s painted facades were once as celebrated as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes and Raphael’s Vatican stanze. Yet these treasures of the Eternal City have now all but disappeared.
Celebrating the opening of the exhibition 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲 (Getty Center, May 31 through September 4, 2022), the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles presents a talk with Senior Curator 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 (J. Paul Getty Museum), recreating some stunning examples of this extraordinary Renaissance phenomenon and revealing what can still be seen today in Rome.
