Lovely guitar Dunsy. Would play that 'til the cows came home! Sympathetic upgrades and repairs. Mind, I think I preferred it when it was still the same age as me! 😅
It turned out beautifully. Those humbuckers in single coil format were a stroke of genius. And yes back in those days Epiphone was as good as any Gibson.
Thank ya - yeah, I like the JB, I have to say. I’m glad that Mike was able to put that in and not change anything at all, other than a couple of small screw holes that you can’t even see when the pickguard is on.
Looks great and to my mostly deaf ears it sounds great with the new pick up. But it didn't sound bad in its stock form either. Music is subjective and sounds is experienced differently by everyone. But my bombed out lugs say F yeah that Epi Rocks!
Great job! Another weary axe emerges from Dunsy’s Guitar Rescue Centre restored to health and is released into the wild - great find with the bridge too :) Tune One has a neat Pat Travers vibe imho. Pickup comparison sounds are like ‘father and son’ to my ears 👍
Hi Dunsy always loved melody makers since i got an avon copy in the seventies ( bolt on neck) two single coils gigged it for years let it go to a band mate who's brother kept it in his studio , i replaces it with a Gordon Smith GS which I still have ...!👍🥸
Dunsys Guitar World marvellously delightfully wonderful splendidly compellingly remarkable entrancingly exquisitely wondrous

It's older than me and still in better shape without any upgrades!

You always play the best fookin' riffs, Dunsy! I swear, every time I watch you play I get inspired. Keep 'em comin' ;)
Thanks for the kind words, buddy! Plenty more to come, never fear.
Nice bit of Epi history there Dunsy, well worth doing the upgrades on. I bet that will gig well.
It only does the one sound, but the one sound is absolutely rocking. Just how I like it!
Well done Dunsy with making it your own , good choice with the JB 👍

I love it! Rock on, Dunsy!!!
Sounds great, nice work on the restoration. I think both the original and the new pickup sound great. definitely a rocker! 👍
Cheers Francis - yeah, I am very lucky that Mike is an ace fixer-upper!
What a fantastic video have a wonderful weekend Dunsy ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! You too!
Nice job on the Epi! Much punchier sounding. ABM hardware is fantastic and used by high-end luthiers like Patrick James Eggle.
I couldn't believe that I found the bridge used on Ebay the minute I did a search. Good karma!
Sweet job Dunsy. Nice to see so much rescued... Looks like a superchunk cover is warranted, my vote goes to precision auto.
Ah, indeed, that could well be a future feature.
Nice restoration! Sounds great. Killer jam at end!!
Thanks buddy - yeah, a lovely old guitar.

Yeah, I like the sound of the original, but for live stuff I just need a bit more grunt and sustain. Easier to cover the bum notes that way, lol!
Sweet! 👌
Super old great sounding guitar now after Mikes worked his magic 👍🍺
He's the man!
Wow! I love this sound! It's great vintage guitar! Rock on Dunsy! 🎸🎸🤘
Thank ya buddy - it's a rocking old geetar!
Cool vintage axe bro! Looks like fun to play
Super easy to play and super light - great for elderly backs!
What a cool wee guitar. I do prefer the original pickup but the JBjr sounds great.
Yeah, I think for live the SD is best, but the original has a cool sound.
A great sound. Excellent content. Thank You
Thank ya buddy.
Oooh. That’s a bit lush, my friend.
A very light rocker - lovely!
That stock pickup is pretty choice too!!
With regards to g-strings, they usually get me wound up.
I see what ya did there! Yeah, the original is pretty darn neat - maybe not meaty enough for my live sound though.
Great vid Dunsy.
Thanks for checking it out, buddy.

Yeah, Mike has done a brilliant job restoring this old 1960’s rocker to its former glory. He starts work on me next week 😆👌
@@DunsysGuitarWorld 😂👍
Aluminum ??? .. we say aluminium! Just saying. :)
Me tae (usually 😂)
@@DunsysGuitarWorld Nice guitar, nice review thanks! :)
👍🏻👍🏻
Wow!
A smasher, as they say!
That's a cool guitar!
Light as a feather as well - a Mean Machine!
@@DunsysGuitarWorld my back is playing up again, light guitars rock!
Sounds sweet to my old ears
A new low from Epiphone, all they do is make terrible overpriced guitars for posers that cant afford gibson.
This particular guitar was made in 1962. In Kalamazoo, MI. In the Gibson factory. By Gibson.
Millions would disagree! I've had plenty of Gibson's & i've found less QC issues with the Epi's!!
Is it for sale chap or ya still rockin it?
Play it a lot - great wee guitar! Everything is for sale at some point though - my wife makes sure of that, lol!
@@DunsysGuitarWorldYou fellas are with the wrong lasses 😅😅😅
Love the vids fella ❤

yeah, the GS1's are fine guitars - I had one for a few years. Super light and great player.
