This collection should be kept whole and intact. Mr. Goodings pursuit would be better served in a museum as a testiment to his dedication, percivernce and passion. It would be fascinating to visit the entire collection. Cheers to Mr Gooding.
I totally agree with you, Michael....it is so beautiful as a whole....it should be a kind of living museum (don't know how, but some kind of "Living Liquid Whisky Experience" (not like the one in Edinburgh, but kinda...more available bottles to taste...and maybe a project to make it last forever....such as recording every tasting made in a room nearby, to verse it to a wide digital tasting bank one could consult from all over the world, like a living liquid library (...). So, when Angus says '"it would energize the secondary market", me I hear only that it will increase the greed of the buyers & the speculation of many flippers then...Not sure it was the finest idea about this amazing collection...😒
I suspect they were willed to either petulant, undeserving recipients who don't care about anything but the money it will give them, OR maybe, and preferably, this was the will of Mr. Goodings. Maybe this is how he wanted to pay it forward after he left this earth.
Why put a large collection of whiskey that was meant to enjoy in a museum so that it is basically lost on the world forever? That doesn't seem right. Sell them to people that will appreciate them.
I usually don't comment on YT but this brought me close to tears. The passion and addiction this man had is amazing. I am a small collector by myself. It would be so beautiful if someone buys it and open it and displays it for public. The legacy of one man for everyone. I even dreamed about it yesterday. Breathtaking.
I totally agree with you Andreas. Being a whisky/whiskey connoisseur myself, I would have been delighted to learn Mr Gooding`s collection was to be sold in it`s entirety, on the condition it not be opened. In my opinion, to destroy such a unique collection by selling the bottles off individually, is essentially an act of vandalism. To have a chance to simply view this collection, would be a rare privilege indeed. I for one would pay to see it.
one thing makes me sad this colecktion never wil be compleet again it dousend matter how mutch money you have or one you donth have the time again whith all the money of the word tho colleckt again thos bottes thos botthels are never to be seen again together that makes me sad very sad 😩😩😩😩😩😩
bud thats is life you go tho your grave en thos people who are familllie want to see money donth like whiskey en where this man spend his all life on this is goining to be break up only if he had a testament whith a judge to reserve the collecktion to a museam orso not tho be break up vor stiupid money
Not only did he realy like the Whisky and collected; also the presentation room and how the Whisky is presented is amazing. And the miniatures at the entrance are something every Whisky lover would like to have ;-)
I’ve watched this video enough times now to realize that the production, editing, and overall execution is absolutely superb and could only be achieved by a seriously competent organization. Whisky Auctioneer is new to the game but they have my confidence.
If you started today, knew what to look for, and had the patience and discipline to save bottles, you don't have to be rich. Then, like all good investments, give it some time to age, and within 20 to 30 years you're going to be looking like a rich man. So cross step one off your list.
Unique personality so dedicated to wishky is awesome fantastic marvelous wonderful he deserves commendations!!!! A heartiest cheeeeeeeeeeeeeers 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
Always liked auctions because it has allowed me to get things that could never get when they were sold etc. I hate the fact that people collect to not drink though.... Whisky is someone's art and craft, meant to be sipped:)
That’s the kind of library in which I’d care to read all day! Superb. Did Angus leave the room with empty pockets? Or did he just catch up on some reading while there? Anybody check?
Amazing. Look up Dwane Poor - he has fantastic collection of 6500 bottles. And he drank/tried them all apart from 3. But those are 1/1 bottles so that's understandable. I absolutely love the idea of collecting AND trying them all. Not just buying 1 bottle and that's it. Buy 2-3 enjoy and share them.
bro this colecktion was better hahahh more expensive hahaha he had all the hard to coleckt bottlels if i give you all the money of the world no spending limit you cant built this colecktion again becouse you donth have enough years in youre life to do it basically this colecktion will never bee togeter again sadly
Recently I planned a TimeCapsule sort of thing and wanted to put some whisky bottles in it. I used cling flim to cover the: 1. Neck/Cap/Seal to prevent evaporation 2. Bottle Labels to preserve them 3. Outer Cardbox Can anyone suggest me whether this is the correct way or not because I don't want my clingfilm to stick permanently to the labels and deteriorate it instead. Thanks 🙂
I think instead of selling it they should keep the collection going and instead of somebody buying a bottle somebody should donate a bottle and keep it growing
A collector advised me _not_ to keep whiskies out of their caskets as light fades the liquid. Not sure if this is true? Edit - Ask a stupid question, but of course, a prerequisite for a bottle to enter into any given collection is that the bottle is and shall always remain _unopened?_
Wonder how many of these bottles are counterfeit? I do. If not THESE bottles, then knock-offs of these bottles elsewhere. When I hear “He has TEN of them, I never saw ONE before!” I am reminded of the multi-million dollar vintage wine scandals from earlier this century.
He bought most of the bottles new and direct from the distillery, and most at a time well before the whisky boom. 20 years ago few people were even interested in a 40yo Laphroaig, people just didn’t care. He must’ve paid pennies on the dollar for most of these.
Bud this colecktion is more interesting en more money he have Mr Gooding extremely rare old bottles the Macallan adami 1926 only 12 ever made the dude had 2 of them there 😂
Sadly he spent decades to bring this collection together only to have others break it all apart. It will ruin the collection forever. They just want to profit and get their hands on his collection.
I don’t agree. I live ten minutes from this collection, and Mr. Gooding frequented all the local pubs here in Colorado talking about sharing whisky and letting it find good homes that will consume it. Nothing is truly permanent, the collection had its time as a single entity, and is now time to move on. Plus he willed it to be sold at auction.
What are you on about? The bright lighting in the video are the result of studio lighting kits the production team brought. You can see their reflection in the bottles. It’s not that bright in there normally. The room is temperature and humidity controlled. Bottles are kept upright. And he kept all the boxes safely in storage. Seriously do people bother thinking before firing off whatever dumb thought pops in their head anymore?
I think the saddest part of this whole video is he didnt drink it all before he died. 😄 That's worse than buying a bunch of old sports cars and not driving them
Dewayne’s collection is in now way better, it’s only larger. Gooding’s collection is far more diverse and represents far more forgotten and lost distilleries. It’s a much classier, better researched collection. And he actually put in the miles tracking down bottles. Cannot say the same for Dewayne.
This collection should be kept whole and intact. Mr. Goodings pursuit would be better served in a museum as a testiment to his dedication, percivernce and passion. It would be fascinating to visit the entire collection. Cheers to Mr Gooding.

Whilst I like the idea of it staying together, I'd rather someone enjoying it by drinking than by sitting in a museum
Whiskey was meant to drink, not rot in a museum and collect dust. Break it up and let people enjoy what is in inside. The collection thing is so silly
Why put a large collection of whiskey that was meant to enjoy in a museum so that it is basically lost on the world forever? That doesn't seem right. Sell them to people that will appreciate them.
What a shame to break up this collection, it should be kept as is.
He was a great man , It was great to work for you Richard. R.I.P.
Got damn. That ain't no collection. It's art.
Extremely impressive!
I'm in tears...thank God for that passion! With 10, 15 or 20 million, I would buy it ALL. SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!
Might be able to get the whole lot for $10M
I usually don't comment on YT but this brought me close to tears. The passion and addiction this man had is amazing. I am a small collector by myself. Well, the most appropriate thing to be done with the collection is... Whatever Mr. Goodings wanted to be done with it.
I wonder if his pilot collected also.

he built this house specialy for the colecktion that house was his bottle cabinet
STUNNING .........................................DIONISE THERON....................WHISKEY COLLECTOR
I’ve watched this video enough times now to realize that the production, editing, and overall execution is absolutely superb and could only be achieved by a seriously competent organization. Whisky Auctioneer is new to the game but they have my confidence.
Alot of Color in that Collection, Bowmore that is, i do enjoy it, nice video
this truly made me cry and yes if i had the money I would buy it
A great museum I love to visit. 😊👍. Impresive!!!
All the experts giving advice on how to start a whisky collection. Let me break it down for you
Step 1: be rich
Step 2: buy bottles
yes but you need passion for whisky lot of rich people will purchase couple bottles and stop
If you started today, knew what to look for, and had the patience and discipline to save bottles, you don't have to be rich. Then, like all good investments, give it some time to age, and within 20 to 30 years you're going to be looking like a rich man. So cross step one off your list.
..Only to have the grandchildren sell it all off!
😢
Wow! It really is amazing what someone can collect with unlimited resources.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
What a sight! What a fantastic collection. I hope many will be opened and tasted.
This is heaven for a whiskey lover
Unique personality so dedicated to wishky is awesome fantastic marvelous wonderful he deserves commendations!!!! A heartiest cheeeeeeeeeeeeeers 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Came up on my recommendations and jesus christ that is beautiful a library essentially and yet sad because a man like that couldnt taste them all
That’s the kind of library in which I’d care to read all day! Superb. Did Angus leave the room with empty pockets? Or did he just catch up on some reading while there? Anybody check?
Thank you,ill take all the Macallan.
I am going to rewatch this video tonight while i sip on a dram of Macallan 12 Double Cask.
Not only collected good whisky, he drank it and shared it!

I intend to finish every bottle in my collection to the bottom. I don't understand the point of staring at the bottles.
wish I had friends like that
Wow. How did he finance it?
He was the pepsi owner
Pepsi franchisee that was forced to sell back to the corporation. His grandfather bought the franchise for $500 not a bad return !
Just curious .. what would be the price of that entire collection?
Whatever they sell for. I bought three from that collection.
Recently I planned a TimeCapsule sort of thing and wanted to put some whisky bottles in it. I used cling flim to cover the:
1. Neck/Cap/Seal to prevent evaporation
2. Bottle Labels to preserve them

he built this house specially vor his collecktion i hope i donth cry in heaven seeing this colecktion breaks appart rest in peace mr gooding rip
I think instead of selling it they should keep the collection going and instead of somebody buying a bottle somebody should donate a bottle and keep it growing
impressive
100% Agree!😉🙏
I think Mr Lahey would agree that this man has truly become, "The Liquor ".
Is this in his house or where did he store them ?
The price to earn that collection blow my mind.
DAMN!!!
Hell Yeah I am in heaven :)
Whiskyverkostungsvideo 4000 😜😂
WHAT?! No NAS or Fine Oak Macallans in that collection :)
There are 6 fine oak Macallans in the collection, but blink and you,d miss them. 10yo,15yo,15yo,17yo,21yo+30yo.
0.40 seconds in ,hit the pause button and check out the top left of screen.

Yes the first, and yes to the second if it’s gonna be sold
I wonder what is the source of income to make this collection??
I believe he was an heir to Coca-Cola
The smithsonian should buy the entire collection
Oh my God ❤️
It is disgusting to see/hear that you/they want to break up this collection.. This man has made art, and now it is ripped into pieces for money.......
indeed this collecktion wil never to be seen again together 1 men in his hole life cant coleckt en own the same bottles again that makes me sad

This guy has a nice collection no one can’t fuck with him
Ive never wanted to be a cat burglar more in my life
I spent all my money on whiskey, women, and song and wasted the rest of it.
George best😅
I have chivas regal bottle 1801
In some ways its sad to see this collection broken up.

Top 30 most expensive bottles of Scotch Whisky - ua-cam.com/video/knozMd5p6Ko/v-deo.html
I have 50 bottles whiskey since 1950 and I want to sell it.
Do you have stil the 50 bottles I am very interested dude
@@janteun3 yes I have it
@@janteun3 send me your email to send you photos
I don't collect spirits.
I drink them.
😊
I probably wouldn't be able to afford the cheapest bottle in that auction.
You very probably would. I bought four bottles from that collection - the cheapest being £40.
This raised more than £6m at auction
Imagine taking pictures of them and accidentally dropping and smashing a bottle. I guarantee it happened.
How dare they sell his collection, never in History will be a collection like this, im so angry from this self called experts (scamers).
i have a whiskey year 1777 and 1742
how much does it cost
shame about the whisky-part though .. If only it had been Sherry..
It not the biggest .. You lying the biggest has 13000 bottle in portugal
Bud this colecktion is more interesting en more money he have Mr Gooding extremely rare old bottles the Macallan adami 1926 only 12 ever made the dude had 2 of them there 😂

imagine an earthquake.....
shame he had no clue how to store them properly and threw away the boxes

In the end, it is just huge amount of booze...:-D
I'd be like a bull in a china shop
I would hardly call this collection perfect, unless their is a bourbon section they didn't show!
Not only bourbon but a specific section of vintage ceramic bottlings shaped like birds from Wild Turkey among others.
I think the saddest part of this whole video is he didnt drink it all before he died. 😄 That's worse than buying a bunch of old sports cars and not driving them
Mr Dewayne Poor has a way better collection
Dewayne’s collection is in now way better, it’s only larger. Gooding’s collection is far more diverse and represents far more forgotten and lost distilleries. It’s a much classier, better researched collection. And he actually put in the miles tracking down bottles. Cannot say the same for Dewayne.
The fact that all of them are colsed is frustrating.
Many were visibly opened and had purple stickers marked on them to denote that. Especially with the Balvenies and Port Ellens.
