Excellent episode! I honestly could have listened for hours about each one of the fascinating women & the bloodlines they created. Would love to know more about the Grey girls & the Carey's relationship with Elizabeth I.
I think that had to have been one of the better relationships. I understood that Henry had a good relationship with his niece Margaret Douglas. They only fell out a couple of times
I wonder why his other two sisters (Elizabeth and Catherine) who died in infancy (as well as a younger brother Edmund) are rarely talked about, while other royal children that died young are?
He kinda ended up screwing over the older sister, didn’t he? Like, there was a reason his nephew James V wasn’t a fan. That little stunt of not showing up to sign a treaty was like a big middle finger to his uncle Henry. Might week have been over a falling out with his mother
Thank you ladies , so much. Really appreciated. I know people say that the woman back then were just chattels. In many ways they were but looked what they faced for love. They knew all about the Tower and executions but they still risked it for love . Wow! Would we do that? Yes, I’d love a Time Machine for that era and many others. Only safely though and only as a spectator who couldn’t be seen. I’m not that brave - or stupid! Wish I could give you more than 1 like. When I have time I’ll listen again, then another like - o.k? 👍👍👍🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

Henry sounds like one of those people who you might see on 90s jerry springer like “ I’ll do what I want. Oh what! What?! You don’t like it? Boohoo”
