I didn't notice that. For the Riddell brands I would say yes higher price means lighter pads with more technology. Dont really think the technology matters and you will be protected enough in any bad that has a hard outer arch. With Schutt it's hit or miss. The lightest pads I had were the armor light which didnt protect as much due to the type of arch & fabric used. But after that I liked their entry level better than any of their other pads & it had the greatest range of motion (XV flex QB/we)
Prolly just changed the name. My guess is bp is for back plate. It says it has a built in back plate because the back is two separate pieces. Not the back plate that is a separate screw in attachment.
I have been comparing the Schutt and Gear Protec pads. I was very impressed in the advanced technologies applied by both mfrs much more than any other shoulder pad models, except for this pad you reviewed. The body cussions, hard/outer shell designs, and the shoulder caps all seem to be way ahead in technology over the other mfrs. I did also conclude that as you move up to the highest priced models, the pads get lighter and offer more range of motion, but there can be a trade-off in protection.
which shoulder pad is overall a better shoulder pad and why ? Gear Pro-Tec Razor Shoulder or the Riddell CLS Shoulder pad please tell me I have been following you for a long time and I always like your channel
yes there is but option is only available in the custom pads you can call riddell and ask them but as far as a regular consumer sale you dont see em much
I just ordered these pads last week from riddell and im excited to see how the compare. Just one quick question, How have these pads held up for you are far as long term durability? Are these something you would just wear to games or to practice as well?
I love your vidz bro, every time I needa know about equipment I come straight to your channel. Its been helpin me out a lot especially in deciding what gear to pick && what to drop. Keep it up!!
have you heard about the Xenith Xflexion shoulder pads? i saw a picture of it and it looks really cool. but i couldn't find any info about it, not even on the official website. if you can please do a review of them.
Thanks for answering!! (I figure you missed the "instead" word after size, right?( Regarding shoulder width, size S is 17"-18" and M is 18"-19". Which one u say?
Hey man do you anything about any new Jordan cleats coming out for this upcoming season. I really like those Jordan 9 cleats but only the nfl guys have em
thats a great review on the pads hopefully i get the Chane to use them in my season!! give me even more inspiration!! getting ready for football trying 150%
Hey Mat or Matt, i was wondering if you could try out the schutt TPU football shoulder pads. I love the ones you are wearing in the video. but i have heard of the TPU and heard they were good. You dont have to because it is your money and i know its probably very expensive, but it would mean a lot. or if you know any body that has tried them. they are fairly new. thank you -- Matt
Heyo i ordered the xflexion pads by xenith. I own and swear by the x2 helmet. Do you know or have you heard anything about the pads? And as the other person mentioned. Possible review of this product. Thanks and i appreciate what you do.
I don't have a Facebook or twitter anymore, but thanks for the video, I play linebacker so I dunno if those will work for me but I really need a back plate. Oh and could you do a review for a neck pad. And again great review
Do you know the exact weight of these? Looking for the lightest pads I can get so an exact weight would be really helpful! Thanks. Comparing these with the Gear Pro-tec razor and the carbon tek pads.
Thank bro ,o, I got another question is there a way were u can make the pads smaller .the shoulder part.for when u left ur arms to catch the ball it won't get in the way
So I was on Riddell's site and I saw a nice pair of shoulder pads, tha name of them was the power jpk ap shoulder pad.... Do you have any insight for me about them?
I am looking to buy a pair of shoulder pads. I play linebacker and I am stuck between the Riddell CLS and the Schutt Air Maxx Flex 2.0. My main priority is protection then weight and comfort. Please let me know what would be the best pair to invest in.
Like i said before and i will say it again!.. keep doing what your doing i love these product vids and i saw that little sneak peak vid u gave us of the ifk diary i cant wait till we see a full vid of that so great job man and god bless.
Do these give great enough arm range? Like throwing your arms up for a high ball, or throwing your arms side to side? Because my high school gave me pads, but they give little to no arm range, making it almost impossible to go up for a ball.
I really love your videos I have watched everyone and these pads are very nice I am a wide receiver and corner I think they will perform really good from what you have reviewed about them I love how light they are and that you have more arm movement.
Hello I'm ordering the riddell spx 10i BP they look very similar to your pads what do you think ?? And I play strong safety do your they will be enough protection ??
for the removable pads that lift the whole thing off of your ac joint, would u recommend putting it in for qbs to improve arm range of motion/protection?
No I do not. It's pretty simple. Take a screw driver and attach the screws that come with it to the back of the pad. The pad should already have holes in it.
Hi, I saw that you wear same size as Riddell and Schutt Shoulder pads. But Riddell M size is 18"-19" of shoulders measurament and 42"-44" about chest, The Schutt M size is 17"-18" of shoulders measurament. You found a big difference between the 2 M size compared, or this is only a brand measurament standard unit? I usually wear a M size of Schutt AirFlex, but now want to try a Riddell SPX shoulderpad. In your opinion I should take a S size or a M size? Thanks
Thanks again. I really have to think this through because I'm from Argentina, and chances of getting this things here are really low. I have a friend who is going to the US in June and he wil bring them. But i don't want to take any risks... for example, i buy the S size. but if i go to gym and do workout constantly, i may grow a bit and S would become small for me.
hi I know football my coach has have me playing wide, safety , and corner and I can't rotate my head that far in should i was wondering if you have and recommendation cuz I'm not very good at shopping for this thanks
I didn't notice that. For the Riddell brands I would say yes higher price means lighter pads with more technology. Depends on how much it stretches and how tight you want it. I wear a wear from a Large in some to an XS. All fit tight around me.
Yes. Description is up to date.
Done:) i love your reviews thanks so much for all of them, how are you going to clean these pads, or any?
I'm trying to make it as good as possible! I think you'll enjoy it.
Prolly just changed the name. My guess is bp is for back plate. It says it has a built in back plate because the back is two separate pieces. Not the back plate that is a separate screw in attachment.
You have to get a different model of shoulder pads or you have to get a different position.
DB Nation all day. I as well play corner and I am glad you put this video up giving an example of how good these shoulder pads are.

These pads look awesome. Glad you talked about the comparison with the armor flex which is what i have now.
Those are sick pads. Would you recommend it to DBs?
I have been waiting for this video for the longest time! I'm from the UK and we don't have the best selection of gear, this would be perfect
yes there is but option is only available in the custom pads you can call riddell and ask them but as far as a regular consumer sale you dont see em much
Not sure yet.
I just ordered these pads last week from riddell and im excited to see how the compare. Just one quick question, How have these pads held up for you are far as long term durability? Are these something you would just wear to games or to practice as well?
I wear in games and practice. They are only set to last two years with heavy use.
Hey Stephen how much are the pads now

Thanks for taking the time to do all the reviews . It really helps.
I love your vidz bro, every time I needa know about equipment I come straight to your channel. Its been helpin me out a lot especially in deciding what gear to pick && what to drop.

Regarding shoulder width, size S is 17"-18" and M is 18"-19". Which one u say?

Yo nice stuff man I just tryed on some new pads but do u knw how to size up on pads let me knw peace
Yes I missed the word instead...I would go with small since your chest size is smaller than the M.
thats a great review on the pads hopefully i get the Chane to use them in my season!! give me even more inspiration!! getting ready for football trying 150%
honestly this is the best football review channel... good job bro! :)
Hey Mat or Matt, i was wondering if you could try out the schutt TPU football shoulder pads. I love the ones you are wearing in the video. but i have heard of the TPU and heard they were good. Thanks man great review keep up the good work. You really know your stuff and I'm always checking out your reviews before I buy.
No custom pads are on the website. You have to call them.

in your opinion, out of all pads that you tried out, what would you recommend for a cornerback?
great channel, great reviews cant wait for the IKF football diaries looks amazing.
These are sick, would love to rock these on the field this year
Do you know the exact weight of these? Looking for the lightest pads I can get so an exact weight would be really helpful! Thanks. Comparing these with the Gear Pro-tec razor and the carbon tek pads.
It will prolly be drawn on saturday, but I will stop taking entries at 11:59 PM CST on Friday.
Good Vid once again bro... Keep up the good work entertaining and informing our youth on proper and the best gear!

Your videos are the only football equiptment ones i watch
@iknowfootball Do you have any suggestions on what are the best for wide receiver shoulder pads
Great review bro, these pads seem like the best you can get!
Great video and cant wait for your IKF diaries come out!
thanks alot bro! Think I'll give the S a try, since I'd like a tight one.
And I play strong safety do your they will be enough protection ??
the cut will be the same the materials will be different. Will last longer but not be as light or custom made to your options
for the removable pads that lift the whole thing off of your ac joint, would u recommend putting it in for qbs to improve arm range of motion/protection?
I would suggest trying it out and seeing what you prefer
I have the ridell spx shoulder pads and there are four holes on the back do you know which ones are meant for the backplate??
No I do not. It's pretty simple. Take a screw driver and attach the screws that come with it to the back of the pad. The pad should already have holes in it.
These pads are the kind I need for my position in football. Light weight and durable.
Great videos, keep them coming. Cant wait for football IKF Diaries!
Really great shoulder pad, as well as back plate! Good review.
Do you think the riddell spk 10i are similar to your pads because the same just mabe not so light ?
Hi,
I saw that you wear same size as Riddell and Schutt Shoulder pads.
But Riddell M size is 18"-19" of shoulders measurament and 42"-44" about chest,
The Schutt M size is 17"-18" of shoulders measurament.

My shoulders are 18 inches so I wear medium. Don't use the chest size, just use the shoulder size and measure correctly.
Thanks again.

What are the better shoulder pads, the xenith x-flex or the Riddell cps pads?
Nice look to these pads! Love all your reviews
would you recommend the riddell cls or the carbon tek shoulder pads for a wide receiver?
Send you a speed? What are you talking about?
Are you going to do a review on the xflexion shoulder pads?
Yes eventually I will
When I hear about new equipment I look to your channel for info
I play RB and I like to be light on my feet so I bought theses In black and white como u think i should use theses?
How do I come by the permanent connectors where the strings go? And how do install ???
What tool would u use to remove the little screws all over the shoulder pad
Are going to review the Riddell Power SPK?
Love the videos, helped me pick a lot of my equipment for my season
Would you recommend the Riddell cls, or Riddell CarbonTek pads for running backs.
Check out my recent blog article about shoulder pads on IKFBlog.com
What pads do you recommend for a tight end / linebacker?
One of the best football channels. Awesome vid
I have my old backplate and the new backplate looks lighter once you put it on cuz I play DT and DE.
Do companies provide you with their products to do reviews on, or do you purchase them all yourself
Where can I find these CLS pads? I can't find them anywhere online, everyone is out of stock
When will you ship them once you have a winner? And I also entered Lord knows I need these pads!
I live in the UK, will you still ship it if i pay for the shipping. I can pay you through paypal if thats ok.
Just saying you should try out some of Rawlings football equipment. Like helmet & shoulder pads
So excited for IKF diaries, can't wait!!!
Would they still work if your shoulders are an inch or two off of the size chart.
