is that braid you're using straight to the lure or is it coloured mono?, because if its braid to the lure then you really need a fluoro leader not only will it make the line less visible to the fish but is much more abrasion resistant to sharp snags and teeth .... and with the larger lures you'll want a wire trace if the pike are around. last thing you want is a fish biting through the line and having a lure stuck in its mouth.
When using anything with treble hooks, even fishing for perch, you need a light wire trace. If a pike bites you off it can be a death sentence for the fish.
Nice video mate, keep an eye out in the Pound shops, I've seen and bought a card with 8 or 10 Spinners on, with decent Treble Hooks for just a Quid Like yours.
That’s a good canal mate I always fish it had some massive perch and pike on the dead bait next to them weeds get some pikes lures and they will smash it
On your spinning rod did you tie the small lure directly to the braid? If you did, you need a fluorocarbon leader buddy. I guess you probably know this. I keep looking to see if your getting more subscribers because you deserve it. Nice video 📹
@@Totally.hooked I always use braid to fluoro with a double uni knot to join them I use 15lb braid to 10lb fluoro for perch.... 40lb braid to hand tied savage gear raw 49 wire leader it's much less visible than the pre-made ones from a tackle shop. I've also found that the savage gear sea bass fishing fluorocarbon 15lb plus can withstand pike teeth very well when fishing for perch on an area that you may pick a pike up it's saved the fish from biting me off many times when fishing for perch.

A few strands of Red wool whipped onto the Treble gets more bites. 🎣 (yes, I'm old & fished for well over 50 years)
