After you've played a while, there's strategies to play to assure you'll have a play on either end of the rack no matter which end your opponent plays to. That helps get points out of your stack.
Thanks for the video. I'm trying to learn dominoes for the first time to play with some buddies. I'm seeing TONS of variation in the rules as I look online. I think I'm looking to play the game where you need to score w/ multiples of 5's (which you covered to an extent). I think the scoring makes sense for the most part, but I have some questions about playing/scoring doubles I haven't seen answered to my satisfaction: (1) Is it correct that the first double played is a spinner? Also does the game have to start with a double or, if nobody has one is it just the highest domino? In that case (starting with a non-double) does the first double played as the game progresses become the spinner? (2) With respect to the spinner, you play off the sides first, and once the sides are 'closed' you can then play off the ends -- is this correct? (3) When playing a non-spinner double during play do you have the option to play it in either orientation (or is it always played sideways)? If either are allowed it seems playing perpendicular would result in two playable ends whereas playing in line would result in just one. Thanks all.
Every Sunday Afternoon My wife and I play a game of Dominoes to see who will win the "CUSS JAR MONEY:-) A LITTLE HUMOR HELPS CURB THE ANGER IN THE FAMILY .. TRY IT ..
4 players for big 5... Do you deal out all the tiles evenly (7 x 4)? And what happens if there's no tiles in the boneyard? Trying to learn. Thanks for the video!
Big 5 When you played the double 4 on the bottom it’s not 6+4, when you play a spinner you have to total both sides of the domino so the double 4 has to play as an 8? You HAVE to play a double as a spinner?
When u put one down but u don't score and one end adds it up to 17 let's say and at another end it adds up to something different how do u determine what end is the best to put your domino down
Did you say the first to 250 wins the game in straight dominos? Wouldn't that mean you would want to hold the most possible points in your had when someone goes out? I thought you want lower points to win, aka going out first.
For straight dominoes, I play 6-Love, i.e. 6 games won in a row. For big 5, 250 points, but no spinners. The game is linear. You don't want left over points in your hand, you want them on the table, and scored. Anything left in hand is bad.
i will do a question in portuguese can you traslate after ? porque as peças que tinham o dobro de cinco não podiam ser somadas com a dobro de seis ? abraços!
Tired of getting my ass whooped vs in law and brother in law playing straight dominoes they literally know what I have before I throw any way you can explain strategy or point me in right direction where I can learn the fundamentals of straight dominoes? Thanks for your time
rrosajr1 yes of course sorry for the late response the reason your family member's know what you have in your hand is because they are reading the board and studying your moves and numbers you're throwing down, for instance they're 6 denominations in domino so if they're 4 fives already on the board that means one of your opponent has 2 fives in his or her hand also if u see your opponent laying down the same number always block them with a different number that's a great strategy in straight domino and get rid of your highest numbers first and enjoy and have fun..
Linda Pander just to show you 2 different ways that u can write out 10 points a circle equals 10 points and so does to lines , because one line equals 5 pts
In this game you only get points when it's a multiple of 5. So if on one end there's a 3, and on the other end there's a 2, you get 5 points ( 3 + 2 = 5). If on one end there's a double 4 (which equals 8), and the other end is a 2, you get 10 points. If one end is a double 5 (which equals 10), and the other end is a 0, you get 10 + 0 = 10 points. Any points that don't add up to a multiple of 5 (5, 10, 15, 20), don't give you any points. So if one end is a 5 and the other end is a 3, (5 + 3 = 8, which is not a multiple of 5), you get no points. Or if one end is a double 3 (which is 6) and the other end is a 6, (6 + 6 = 12, which is also not s multiple of 5), you get no points. On the other hand, if the double 4 was on one end, and you put a 2 on the other end (double 4 is 8, 8+ 2 = 10, which IS a multiple of 5), you'd get 10 points. Hope that makes sense.
each time its like,(1st video) try to get to 100 points then (2nd video) try to get to 150 points, and now its try to get to 250 points so im going to go to 200.
If there are 4 players with 7 dominoes each, it adds up to 28. That is the amount of dominoes in the game. So someone has the double six. If only 2 players, then get dominoes from the boneyard. But remember the first one to run out of dominoes wins, so getting dominoes from the boneyard isn’t good. Hope this helps. 😊
Everyone shows how to play the game and how to keep score separately. Nobody can just make a video playing the game while keeping score. Leaving people like me still not knowing how to play the game!!!🤬
Played straight capicu my whole life. Ran into some folks in Texas who played big 5. I had to learn that. Great vid fam. Thanks

That was a fun video
Every Sunday Afternoon My wife and I play a game of Dominoes to see who will win the "CUSS JAR MONEY:-) A LITTLE HUMOR HELPS CURB THE ANGER IN THE FAMILY .. TRY IT ..
the tutorial explains a lot. however if someone scores a 5, 10, 15 or 20. why not just write that number. it would be much quicker to calculate
Great tutorial!!!!
very well explained, thanks for the help!
Eric Stillman thanks and remember enjoy and have fun it's dominos!
Ware did thi double 5 cum in
Pretty set

You have earned a sub maaaan
Thank you, now I can teach my campers
Domino's is my favorite game
This game is so fun! I got it on my tablet.
So you score up? I would think the score would be round to the closest and 17 is closer to 15.
Correct
Nice job!
Thank you!
Illuminated
4 players for big 5...
Do you deal out all the tiles evenly (7 x 4)? And what happens if there's no tiles in the boneyard? Trying to learn. Thanks for the video!
You knock/skip to next player.
If I have a double during the game can it create 2 routes?
killer instruction bro
Thank u so much
Big 5

You HAVE to play a double as a spinner?
The person with the left over tiles gives the points to the opponent?
When u put one down but u don't score and one end adds it up to 17 let's say and at another end it adds up to something different how do u determine what end is the best to put your domino down
So, the opponents leftover tiles are added and given to the winner?
Red Dead 2 anyone? Lol
Yep haha
Yep gambler challenge #9
Yep gambler challenge 7 I screwed up I'm at the end so I can't play it at the camp for winning 3 in a row fml
Yeah that legend of the east outfit better be worth it cause this domino game in making my head hurt
Same here! RD2
When you play the double 5 first, can that be used as a spinner?
I can't understand
Did you say the first to 250 wins the game in straight dominos? Wouldn't that mean you would want to hold the most possible points in your had when someone goes out? I thought you want lower points to win, aka going out first.

why are the dominoes 2 different colors? does it affect the scoring?
Dominoes games and tournaments, every day at GameColony com, join the fun!
you explained the game right G
So what happens if either person does not pick up a double 6?
i will do a question in portuguese can you traslate after ? porque as peças que tinham o dobro de cinco não podiam ser somadas com a dobro de seis ? abraços!
So at the end of straight dominoes when he said tell him all up he meant all 17 right?
Forgot to mention to play of the Spinner
No bonus points for ending the game with a Capicoo?
A capicu gets you an additional 30 points
Tired of getting my ass whooped vs in law and brother in law playing straight dominoes they literally know what I have before I throw any way you can explain strategy or point me in right direction where I can learn the fundamentals of straight dominoes? Thanks for your time

Was in that boat too.
The slamming has caused a sound activated migrane.
What if at the start the other oppenent has the double sixe and i dont have any domino that has a six?
Alan Gonzalez, you then pick a tile from the boneyard, the more tiles you pick up the less likely you’ll win at the end.
I am not clear on what you do if you don't have the double five in your hand to start? what do you start with?
You play the highest double, or the highest non-double if there are no doubles.
Why do so many players SLAP the dominoes down when they make a play?
David B because it’s a power play, either they won that round or made a block.
Well do dominic
Where did you get those dominoes?
Ben Choi I bought some at walmart for like 5 bucks thanks for stopping by!
Love u
❤️💕😘
scoring makes no sense at all. why not write numbers!
Can i play off all the spinners
why does F start with two lines and D start with a circle????
Linda Pander just to show you 2 different ways that u can write out 10 points a circle equals 10 points and so does to lines , because one line equals 5 pts
So I thought you wash the tiles, pick a tile to see who goes first and then put the tiles back, wash again, then pick your hand.
Why isn't there any points when the double 4 gets dropped in the big 5 game?
gguevaratania cus it adds up to 8 this games scores by 5s
Double four makes 8 not 10 points. It has to be a multiple of 5 to write down your points.
What if no one has the double 6?
You get a tile from the boneyard.
each time its like,(1st video) try to get to 100 points then (2nd video) try to get to 150 points, and now its try to get to 250 points so im going to go to 200.
Goal of the game is 250
What if no one had no double six???
If there are 4 players with 7 dominoes each, it adds up to 28. That is the amount of dominoes in the game. So someone has the double six. If only 2 players, then get dominoes from the boneyard. But remember the first one to run out of dominoes wins, so getting dominoes from the boneyard isn’t good. Hope this helps. 😊
alamat
Can you you just explain the game??

Stoney v
Stoney V
This guy doesn’t even have someone to play with him.
And what if nobody has anything
No!
That’s what the boneyard is for, you get tiles (bones) from the boneyard when you need them.
Everyone shows how to play the game and how to keep score separately. Nobody can just make a video playing the game while keeping score. Leaving people like me still not knowing how to play the game!!!🤬
Thank you!
