I'm just a beer guy, and I find that I like a just about any style of beer... I am mostly used to fizzy beers, but I do like Cask ales too. I'm excited to see the evolving beer culture in the UK next year when we visit. I love my PNW beers, but I always enjoy trying local beers old and new.
Thanks for this great video! Beer..beer..beer Cheers guys!!
Man o man would I love to chase those boys around pubs in London!
Why thank you!
ok, i need a beer.
great video btw, as always :)
Fun vid! Now craving strawberry beer...
Loved this! Beer has layers and flavors just like wine. My love of beer started in France as an exchange student in the 80's. Came home to find Coors Light was considered beer! LOL!
Thanks for sharing
Hey nik firstmen cool story! Got to love a quality beer and yes Coor's Light isn't beer... Thanks for watching and commenting Vagabuddy!
I played Beer Pong for the first time with my friend & it's a lot of fun! I didn't even know of it, but the Riley's sports bar on Haymarket {London} have the proper beer pong tables. It's all good fun =D
Well I'm this far along having started from the first video posted. This is one of my favourites so far. Great video guys. Makes me thirsty.
Nice! You are going to know our lives better than we do! Keep the marathon going!
I really enjoy watching your videos. The camera work and the subjects keep me interested. Keep up the good work.
Big Dave
Cheers Big Dave!!
May just have to check out some of those places when I'm next down, they look pretty damn good, cheers lads
Great video :)
God I need a beer now 🙈
Then the video worked! ;)
Had a blast chaps! Love the shot of me swearing at Fosters. The bastards.
So much fun guys! Can't wait for round two!!
Nice job guys, I think it is quite tough to focus on only three places when it comes to ale(s) in "The Old Smoke". I met the guys from Ansbach and Hobday" when they came over in a small beer festival in Strasbourg last year. I really like their style
Just my two pence worth, porter was 'invented' by the mixing of ale, beer and twopenny (strongest beer) and was first mentioned around 1720ish. Greenwich (where meantime is) is a naval port not much a trade port, they are north of the river and one of the first london brewers of porter was actually Trumans Brewery in East London. Meantime make a great London Porter but it wasn't the birthplace
Excellent
Thank you
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video. Is it just us or is Jonny looking slightly worse for wear by the end?
I think we all were feeling it... not to mention that we filmed 5 beer reviews for The Craft Beer Channel before the pub crawl even started! It was a marathon!
vagabrothers shhh you! I am professional from start to finish!
I love me some cask-conditioned ale.
Right I'm off to my local
Hahah!
I can't believe you didn't get to Kernel. Nice feature on Anspatch and Hobday.
We would love any excuse to come back and keep exploring and drinking ;)
Kernel closes at 14:00 and is probably the most accurate clone of the Barclay Perkin's/Courage Ris.
Not really every Americans nightmare, love cask beer !
Very hard to hear what you’re saying when in the pubs.
``every amaricans worst nightmare`` hahahahha
Look at all that equipment you used to make this video, and not a single clip on mic for voice rec.
IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU PLOUGH IN B
nice video :) the audio seems a little off at around 1:00 or so. i'm sure u guys noticed during editing...its not like u can easily spot that while filming. that stuff is challenging and i like it more this way than if u just re-recorded everything in some room
Yeah, unfortunately one of our mics pooped out during that part of the shoot. Apologies for the bad audio, hope you all can understand what's being said!
no worries at all! i still think it is better than if u recorded somewhere quiet and not a pub
5:42 tho
wtf happened to that poor pint at 5:43!
"Cask beer is warm and flat" "Every American's worst nightmare." Despite the American craft beer revolution, I can never hold them in the same esteem as the British, they still haven't got a clue about certain things.
We were playing up the stereotype of British ales, in reality we quite enjoy a good cask ale. Cheers!
vagabrothers Not entirely sure I believe that, considering the other subtle remark you made regarding cask beer in this video.
Ireland1984 Well, I guess you need to meet more American craft drinkers. :P
Oh yeah first comment
Great Documentary! We're a Micro Brewery based in Manchester UK, check out some of our brewery videos and funny craft beer mocumentaries.
You don't like our beer? And you Americans drink that knatspiss Bud and Coors??
Great UK cask ale is never served warm and flat. These are two outdated misconceptions that need to go away. Adding beer pong to a video that should be about the history and beer culture of London - seriously?
Totally agree! That's what I was trying to prove to these guys - naturally carbonated and served at cellar temperature (12-13 degrees). As for the beer pong, couldn't resist a bit of er... American culture in there too.
It was obvious from the tone of their voices that they were being ironic. Beer pong is a thing in the States and so why not a bit of a laugh for their home viewers? And people say that cask drinkers are often stuffy and humourless....
