THE 1.8 IS A STRONGER MOTOR IN MY OPINION GROWING UP I HAD A 1.8 BORED OUT TO A 2.0 & THERE WERE NO ROTARYS TOUCHING IT. FRIENDS OF MINE HAD ROTARYS THEY WERE ALWAYS BLOWING THE MOTOR & MISSING SECOND GEAR WHEN THEY WOULD RACE. ROTARY IS LIKE A BANSHEE THERE FAST BUT THEY DONT LAST.
I believe you but you're still comparing low powered general drivers engines to rotaries which put out a lot of power for their size, especially if they are modified. If you have a high powered piston engine they wont last much longer so its all the same
