When a hawker has very low profit margin, it's an indicator that they are willing to sacrifice a lot to make something good and accessible to everyone. Their pricing is truly amazing and those Japanese wagyu meat quality is insane coming from a hawker stall. Respect to Wano Niku for doing this. "It's finally my turn to try." Respect to the wifey for holding on the camera and watching those meat going into Ghib's belly lol!
Below our flat… The coffee shop not really hidden, it was newly renovated with nice affordable stalls. Parking is ample behind and infront of this block.…… Again your video made me hungry and now craving for wagyu beef..thx
i noticed that your editing style has changed up quite a bit, its a lot more fast pace with quick transitions now, love it!! keep up the great content as always :)
🙋♀️Warm welcome to those coming from outside of AMK. Just to share a minor correction: nearest MRT Exit is actually ‘2’, not ‘4’ as shown in the video ☺️. Bus svcs in front (Ave 5) are 138 & 860. Bus svcs at the side (Ave 4) are 71, 76, 268 & 269. Have fun! 🌸
Authentic Japanese cuisine in this country is hard to find. Mosty, by word of mouth. Now, we have Ghib san to discover for us. Unfortunately, there is only summer here, so we will miss other seasonal food.
OMG Ojisan... I've only watched this channel for 2 days I've entered 4 hawker stalls into my MUST visit list already, only the best places I MUST visit get in... Wano Niku may just be TOP of this list... I travel for work but street cuisine is my hobby, SIN is getting up there with BKK. You can tell PM Lee that this channel has helped to bring a large Tech company to Singapore (along with Max Chernov) creating good well-paying jobs
One thing about Japanese yakiniku stall is they are so focused that they only sell beef, no other side dish or vegetables, no soup, no drinks or desserts etc. They only want you to enjoy the various cuts of the beef. It may cost more than your normal western food stall serving sirloin or rib eye steak. But for the price you get raw quality beef. Are the rice the Japanese pearl rice from Japan?
Mayflower Station has a lot of nice food. For me, I love the Vietnamese Restaurant - Fried Ice-Cream. (I like refreshing taste, also because Vietnam was the first exotic Asian Country I flew to in my life)
Wow Ghib,, 美味しい 焼き肉 食べたい😅,, price very afordable too the problem is i dont like to que to long 😅, i will forward it to my japanese friend Ghib,, thks for d info,, 👍😬🍺
Is it just me, at 12:42, there's a part of the cut that has browned. And this can be seen in various other parts in the video as well.... Is it not a marker of freshness (or the lack thereof)?
tbh, the location is not really ideal . . the owner shd explore industrial park canteens with bigger carparks, bigger space with ample table/chairs Tanjong Pagar works for the owner because of the number of offices there and young target audiences. But in AMK, its is totally different - ppl in the West and East will not make a trip there (considering the coffeshop has limited seating space)
I stay in AMK. If I may, I think this spot is too hidden away and to get there can be quite inconvenient. The spot is not exactly one with good crowd too. Other than Mayflower station (Thomson - East Coast Line [Brown Line]), there are only limited bus services from Yio Chu Kang and AMK Hub (Ang Mo Kio Station - Red Line), it will take a while to get there by bus with some more walking. And when it rains, patrons will fret about getting there. Infront of the coffeeshop, the carpark is small. So you need to get around to the carpark at the back of the block...which does not really connect directly to the coffeeshop with proper walkway shelter. So....where else could be a good spot for Wano Niku with even better crowd? Ang Mo Kio 628 Market, Kebun Bahru Market and food Centre (Mayflower MRT) Ang Mo Kio Central Market & food Centre 409 AMK Market and Food Centre 527 Market and Food Centre Teck Ghee Court Market & Food Centre With low margin means we need volume and high human traffic = better crowd...so really hope Wano Niku able to relocate....business will not just bloom.....it will basically EXPLODE LIKE A VOLCANO! Proud to have such a hawker in AMK!
Singaporeans will travel for food, especially so when Singapore is such a small country. They probably secured a good rental price in that coffeeshop hence the decision to open there. Any other popular ones like you mentioned will eat into their operating costs and decrease the quality at the expense of increased traffic.
Went to try. The portion is definitely smaller. The size of the meat is not as big piece as shown in this video. Ordered 2 separate orders, 1st order got no more mushrooms, and 2nd order got no more onions, but the person din even informed us. And when the person served the dishes, he then told us this ran out, that ran out. He should informed us first, so that i will not order it at all. Waited more than 45mins for them to bring the food out to us. Overall verdict: 6/10. Nevertheless, thanks for showing the video.
Hi Ghib, recently Japan has plans to release nuclear waste. Can you share your thoughts and maybe some options to still have Japanese seafood in SG without fearing the risk involved? Cheers

Want to try, but hope there won’t be a long queue, cause Ghib SAN’s recommendations always create long queues in any outlet he featured.
Haha, wait for the hype to cool down a bit 😄
i have indeed observed an increase in crowd on weeknights 🤣 good luck! and hope you have an enjoyable experience (:

This may be the most affordable Wagyu Yakiniku in Singapore

It’s so affordable and I’m convinced he doesn’t make much profit
well he said,, mokatenai desu,, it means no profit,, 😅
Pretty sure almost all hawkers nowadays don't make much profit.
I tend to agree with you, but do any of the food hawker stalls make much money?
Exactly
I have a few friends own western stalls they earn ALOT like 5 digits pay a month
Wow Ghib,, 美味しい 焼き肉 食べたい😅,, price very afordable too the problem is i dont like to que to long 😅, i will forward it to my japanese friend Ghib,, thks for d info,, 👍😬🍺

Can take bus 76, 268 or 269 😉. It’s quite near me but I only heard about it today from a non-AMKian 🤣

When Ghib San was tucking into the wagyu, the sounds he made reminded me of Mark Wiens 😂 They know their food! 😊
Congrats!!! You met the same person (Tetsu-san) from the previous video of Tanjong Pagar! 🎉🎉🎉
Looking forward to eat at this joint.

wahh will come visit soon and try those $9 sets
Pls open in Phnom Penh, I paid USD 90 for 2 persons, supposedly omakase but turned out to be just Sushi prepared by 2 local chefs with unknown quality
Why don't you come to Singapore for holiday?Beside sightseeing u can be a food hunter.Oooops!
May I know where the location is??
Let’s see how long the quality can last with the rising rental cost.
If it can charcoal grill, then will be the best.

Loving the area!😁
🤤😋
That last line you said hahahaha!!!!!
Any comparison with yakiniku go/like? :P
I like all but personally like Wano Niku's sauce the most!
Hi, what is the thing they put in the middle of the grill?
It’s a sheet of paper that prevents meat from sticking to the grill!
What’s the address dude?
