I lived in New York all the while this series continued. Lived in a cramped apartment but the fun made up for it. This was my roommates and my favorite weekly TV program!! Every part of Manhattan is incredible. THAT GIRL epitomized all that a single girl hoped for the excitement of beautiful and excitement of New York city!
Subtitles are perfect. I am learning english as never I could before. I will sue my former english course and take back all tuition fees. Teatchers were good but phony pedagogues keep staliing classes ruining all our efforts to learn properly. Thanks a lot, God bless you. Greetings from Brazil.
Well said, good chap... and welcome to the land of English, where some claim it's the hardest language to master. Oh, and "teatchers" is t-e-a-c-h-e-r-s. Sort of sounds like there is a second "t" in there, but there isn't. "Staliing" is s-t-a-l-l-i-n-g. Cheers!
Well, you made some spelling mistakes, but you spelled and used the word "pedagogues" correctly. Well done. Keep up the good work. English is not an easy language to learn.
While a kid, I would go up to the roof of a relatives apt in Bklyn, they lived on the top(4th fl) They would(egads!) babysit me). I'd sit on the fire escape and observe that beautiful area of Manhattan with the Statue of Liberty and the new World Trade Center. It was such a spectacular view. They didn't know what I was doing btw. The always stunning Marlo Thomas recently lost her beloved husband Phil Donahue. Rest In Peace.
I saw this exact same thing in a real life police chase. The cop car slammed into the suspect's car but the reporter kept saying the suspect hit the cop car. How can a car, either the make/model Ann was driving or any modern manufactured car strafe sideways? They can't. Vehicle wheels do not turn at 90 degree angles. Parallel parking would be as convenient as actual supermarket parking spots are now. . The woman the alleged perpetrator was looking at looms awfully tall and broad... sort of like a man in drag. . At 16:30, do you think you would be able to get up, go somewhere to eat, eat the food, get back and get settled in 2-3 minutes? The potential time of a commercial break in 1966? . Ann's deductible is $475.25 today
It's a real eye opener to see how boyfriends treated their girlfriends on TV back in the day. Don was a real jerk. It's also an eye opener to read the comments here and see no-one else has commented on this !!!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think no one has made a comment like yours because they don't agree with you. Don didn't yell at Ann, he wasn't abusive, he didn't even say I told you so. He wouldn't even accept her offer to pay damages when Ann said she felt responsible. All he did was not believe her strange story. At the end, he changed his opinion and believed her. How does this make him a real jerk?
@@preppysocks209 Did you watch the same show that I did, preppysocks?! I saw, as did the others in the room who watched it with me, that his whole demeanor was one of angry energy. Even the first shot of the show, he doesn't want to be there - pulling against her hand like a whiny child -- then in her home, yelled "Are you out of your mind!!" and argued with her the whole conversation about a lousy plant in his precious car, then his feeble attempt at an apology was to roll his eyes, then angrily called her a liar about the car fender bender, didn't back her in court or take her side, then rolled his eyes an additional 5 more times, then finished up by pulling her away by her arm while whining about the dent in his car, etc, etc. You didn't notice any of that? Or are you ok with being treated like that!
@@nutmeg208 Apparently we didn't watch the same show because Don never called Ann a liar, never mind angrily. He said on a number of occasions that he didn't believe her -- and neither did the judge. That is not the same thing -- people can disbelieve someone because of the implausibility of what they say without claiming they are lying. Nonetheless, and the opposite of what you wrote, he did back her in court, and did take her side, explicitly and publicly contradicting the opposing party and saying his testimony was in support of her. Certainly no one wants to appear in court, so that could explain some of his body language, and how would you react if your girlfriend's case depended on the corroboration of an eyewitness, she says she has one, but can't produce him and doesn't even know his name? He should not have asked if she was out of her mind, but in the end he was open to persuasion then as well, since he let her use the car If you want to say Don's character is a jerk, the next episode is a much better example. Don should have thanked Ann for making the preparations for the picnic, and if he had allergies, he should have let her know that up front.
@@preppysocks209 Oh. My. God. I'm sorry, I did not realize I was talking to a mentally ill person. You even contradict yourself by admitting he WAS a jerk after all in subsequent episodes. And yes my dear, if you 'disbelieve' someone you are still calling them a liar. Take care now, I wish you all the best and I hope you never, never get married, since you obviously don't recognize what anger or abuse is.
@@nutmeg208 Like Donald, I am open to being convinced that I am incorrect. Despite the fact that you note that no commenter on here agrees with you, you continue to double down on your views. You claim to oppose abuse but unlike me, you resort to insult and calling someone mentally ill simply because their well supported opinion disagrees with yours. Eye rolling is not abuse. I wish we lived in a world where the worst thing partners did to each other was to roll eyes. I see no need to comment further, even if you continue to write, as I am content to have other viewers decide which of us they agree with.

Her clothes are timeless. And so is she.
I love this show
I have always loved this show
I liked this and the Mary Tyler Moore show. My faves Betty White, Cloris Leachman, Ted Knight. all of them really. Great shows back then.

The lilac suit in the beginning is stunning
A $50 deductible!!!! Oh my!
Always Loved this show.
These sitcoms in the 1960s all had the same formula: the wacky woman and her straight man husband/boyfriend. Bewitched, That Girl, I Dream Of Jeannie.

The episodes were always better when Donald was in them. The Ann character needed the Donald character to bounce things off of.
Ann is seen driving Donald's car. It is clearly a 1965 Mustang. When she's coming to the stoplight, she's now driving a1966 Mustang.
Everybody looks so neat and tidy ..UNLIKE TODAY ...Don Hollenger was a REAL HOT GUY
How did they get into the relationship? Donald was not present in episode 3.
They met and started dating in the pilot
@hamsterdiving7593 They had to redo the pilot so Don was not her agent as well as her beau.
I like this show Police never asked for her Drivers License.
Gruber!
