Merrow M 4DW 100

This is a 2 needle 4 thread trimming overedge version Merrow industrial sewing machine.
This machine sews a ISO federal 512 stitch. It is an overedge purl stitch suitable for simple overedgeing of single or multiple layers and effective for seaming.
I buy all my equipment and these industrial sewing machines myself and so anything you do to help is appreciated.

Hey Mr Dyer .. another fun video. I am in overstitch envy. I have been using a swing away binder, but getting the fabric to align evenly in the binding has not been as easy as it would seem. Also thickness can be an issue. Happy Day from Florida.

Yes, the binders need a lot of precise clearances and special compensating feet to make them more manageable. Thanks Lee Copp

awesome, enjoy your stuff, just getting going myself. Wife said leave her machine and get my own, lots singer pro's, view consew but nothing with walking foot. Amazon got the sailright knock off but needs a base, the one they offer seem like shit, just sayn. Some people think machine are worth lot more that I do..lol

I just purchased M-4DW-60. Would like to know where you get all your parts from. I called the Merrow company and they got my name and number; they told me they will get back at me. Guess they didn’t have the old parts catalog.
So where do you get your parts from?

Hi Alexander, I've dropped the set screw for the upper looper down into the machine. Any idea how I can get it out?

Sure, drop the bottom off. Probably not what you wanted to hear but it is doable.

Friend has same machine that makes a chain stitch when sewing nothing but doesn’t stitched when trying to serge anything
Is there an easy adjustment I can do to it?

Easy? Easy for some, hard for others. Could be as simple as a thread tension adjustment. Is that easy?

@@AlexanderDyer sure would be, I will look at it, mechanical stuff I enjoy. However Indont know which tension to adjust. It looks like it has 4 adjustments.

A good overlock stitch always looks a little loose to my eye. A lot of adjusting and sewing adjusting and sewing. Move one tensioner at a time between tests so you can figure out the effect of each tensioner as you go.
