I have several that are from the 1912-1916 vintage. They still operate very well. Over all we have about 30 of these machines with the newest ones being made around 1960. Great machines
They made those in Newington Connecticut. A block away from me. They moved a few years ago. I have one and they were so nice that a rep came to my house to show me how to thread. Works perfect.
I have also found them to be very helpful on the phone. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Very good information about the sewing machines, interesting because I also repair them and I continue to learn from you .I do have a collection. It is a hobby. My costumers are always pleased as give them some tips on the machines. Thank you immensely. God bless your talent.
Same here.......
I love those and the thought it took to build one..
Amazing old technology.
They are some of the best sounding machines, I had one of these in the past and just recently bought 3 MG machines used. They are so smooth compared to a lot of the modern import machines
I agree and they just go and go.
Its great to see the old machines it is amazing that so many of them still work and to watch them working is wonderful thank you for the share of your wonderful machines
From Milton Keynes UK
Indeed we stand on the shoulders of giants.
My husband thinks new is always better. I know the older ones are better. I thought I had an ancient one but it’s a Singer in the 30’s. Much older than me!!!
It is amazing how these things perform over time.
Fascinating little machine. Makes one ponder all the goods it has made or seen over the years, uniforms, stuff to support war efforts, etc. Compact, well made. The little oiler is so cool.
Its like icing on the cake. 🌝
Wasn't aware overlocking machines were available back that far. Really interesting. Thank you :)

I sent your video to Charlie Merrow, I am sure he will enjoy it!!

Curious as to what oil you use in the drip lubricator? An old Merrow 60 instruction manual suggests an SAE 20 oil. I think that's equivalent to an ISO Viscosity Grade 68. thx
I just used sewing machine oil but I didn't know about the SAE 20 suggestion. Thanks for the information.
Good morning Sir!!!
Awesome videos, I'm here because I picked one of these up (same model) a few weeks ago at an antique store for 15 bucks. It was totally seized but I got it turning and now it's time to get it sewing.
Would you be so kind to tell me which loopers are installed in your machine? I have only one looper.
Thanks for any help you may provide.
I sold this machine but Merrow is still in business here in the US and maybe they could help. I have some manuals that may help on my website. This is the parts manual alexanderdyer.work/uploads/manuals/Merrow%2060%20Parts.pdf
when you fill up the sight with oil at the top? do you have oil drain jar for it .. how does that work??
I do not have a drain jar but that would be good. I just have to periodically clean up the oil the drains out the bottom of the machine.
Wow I didn't think marrow stitch been that long. I have Babylock model BL3-406 early 70s all metal. How many thread your machine take? My 3 rolls thread I seen take 2 or more rolls thread. What the different those marrow stitch machine. Thank you for sharing someday I would like to get one your model try out.
This one is a 3 thread machine too. Merrow makes many different machine that do hundreds of different stitches and applications. Pretty neat company.
