When filling the gear box with new oil you will notice the oil height bolt when removed the gear box takes exactly one Quart of oil before it starts coming out of the overflow hole. So duh, u don’t need to remove that bolt every time. Just a basic less work kinda heads up
Instead of removing the fill check bolt each time, I just have a clean, dedicated 1L Coke bottle with a mark at 850mL. I fill it to that line with fresh oil and when the bike is drained and plug back in, simply dump the 850mL into the fill hole. No need to remove the fill check bolt and risk stripping it. Saves time too.
That oil-check bolt is interesting. I am used to the little oil-check windows. Being able to drain excess oil from that bolt is a nice thing to have. Edit: Just realized the four strokes still have the window for engine oil, and the oil-check bolt for transmission oil... So why does Beta separate the engine and transmission oil on the four strokes? I've heard either Yamaha or Honda tried this back in the day and just went back to one oil for all.
Separating the engine oil and transmission gives you longer service intervals. For instance the 2019 Beta 390 4 stroke has an oil change interval of 30 hours which is pretty impressive.
A questione. 2 years ago on the last ride before getting hurt I changed the oil. A motul synthetic one. My question is that after 2 years last week I went riding it. I know it needs an oil change but in your opinion did I do any damage? Some o my friend said not to worry about it since is a synthetic oil and it does not go bad as the mineral one. I am waiting for the delivery guy to bring a case of the oil and then do the maintenance. Please help .
Im so confused. You guys recommend 4 stroke engine oil for the 300 2 stroke transmission on your website. The bike calls for motul 10w-40 transoil. Why are you guys puting in 4 stroke engine oil?
My beta dealer said do not use synthetic. It’s to slippery with the clutch plates and I found when I used it I hit neutral very often while riding. I use basic 10-40 like it says in the manual. Change it often and u won’t have issues.
Hi, how many hours of riding would you recommend to change the old again after you have done the oil change? Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.
In this video we used the Motul 5100 Synthetic Blend 10W-40. You can check it out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/motul-5100-synthetic-blend-4-stroke-motor-oil-p Hope that helps!
I would like to see a video on the Sachs CC fork (the forks that come on the 16+ Race editions) oil change and seal replacement.
How about you guys start stocking more parts for Beta's, I have to buy most of my parts from AOMC.
nice it comes with a magnetic drain plug
When will rmatvmc have beta OEM parts?
Good question..
On my Beta 300 I use a ty-down and to hold the bike at and angle so then I don’t have to remove the skid plate.

Hello, thank you for the lesson. How to see when there s too much oil? Do it run a lot by the little hole ? Thanks
Interesting. for 2018 RR 300 gearbox oil is 10w-50 in the manual.
It's also wise to put some oil on the fill cap as well to keep it from drying out i had this happen to me on my beta
Thanks for the tip *Matt Bender!*
You'd want to make sure you use silicone paste as engine oil is bad for rubber o-rings.

Always dumped full 1l oil bottle into the gearbox. Had 200 hours without issues...why so much fuss about the oil level in the gearbox?
Mikhail Too much oil can blow out gaskets and seals

If you weren't doing anything "too crazy" and anything since then, I wouldn't worry about it. The sooner you can get that new oil in the better.
Thank you
By the way I use aluminum foil and shape so it goes directly over the skid plate into the bucket. It works for me😂
thanks
What kind if skid plate is that because i have the same one but i dont know what kind it is it was on there when i bought it

In beta xtrainer 300 2017 have oil filter?
Can i use full syntethic oil too? for 2 stroke
o00o 0o00o Yes you can! Thanks for watching.

Why did you have to remove the skidplate there was no oil dran hole on it.
They removed the skid plate so they can reach the drain plug with a box end wrench. I use a socket and extension.

Mark, your service manual should give you all that information.
Same procedure on the xtrainer?!
Yes, you can definitely use this video for your Xtrainer!
You forgot to lube the muffler bearings!!
Shipping to AK for plastic rear fender, clutch lever, brake lever $89 😢 Not giving in to extortion, priceless 😂
What oil do you use 🤷♂️

Synthetic not recommended but if you want to hit neutral a lot go ahead and use synthetic
@@rmatvmc are you not supposed to use “Motul TRANSOil? It’s a 2srtoke.
@@ricklieberson5576 yes I've bought one today that's what manual states
Oil filter?
The Beta 300 RR is a two stroke. There is no oil filter in this bike. Thanks
Rocky Mountain ATV MC. OK thank you. I've only had 4 strokes, so I didn't know that. :)
It's gearbox oil he's changing, not engine oil.
brian murray even the whole video they say engine oil. Drove me nuts. Good video other then that.
It's a 2t só it's Not the engine oil you're teplacing, but the Gear oil right?
That is correct!
