Honestly, whoever designed Hearthstone Chess all those years ago is a real hero for Blizzard. They've been getting so much mileage out of it.

Burgle giving coins means that the chess heroes are neutral, so you can play tess + vanish + evasion for (almost) infinite tess

I came back to Hearthstone after years and what do I find? The portal brawl and the chess brawl. Everything old is new again.
To be fair, there's a lot of new players that never got to play those 🤷♀️ and I don't mean bc the player base has grown so much. just that I think a lot of people rotate in and out of this game, like you, or even I, did.

I got whiplash from that comment about pancakes without maple syrup. It came from nowhere, was unfounded, and disappeared just as fast.

I love this more than anomalies, like everything is really different but equally, not just benefiting ones more than others for no reason
Chess brawl is my favorite. It is too bad that people mostly don't know what to do and lose to regular chess cards
You were way outta pocket with the throat tickle thing, and I loved that XD
I had fun with mage: Infinitize, Molten Rune, Reverb, Conjurer's, Volume Up (as a tutor and spell duplicator), and Holotechnician.
High point of the brawl was Derpl, who coined out a Milhouse on turn one. After a hero power to spend my mana, I was able to Infinitize into a Yogg box that high rolled. I ended up with a dino-sized 10/10, mind control on his Milhouse, which was buffed and then polymorphed boar, plus 2 lifesteal dryads. He conceded the match, but will forever be a legend in my book.

I like how the concept of this tavern brawl is that two chess players brought a few pieces under the table, and cheat when the other isn’t looking. But this is full blown chess in Ohio

I'm so sad I missed this brawl :\ I literally bought the karazan adventure specifically bc I wanted to play the chess level. And then I remember watching every streamer whine about how hard it was, meanwhile I, a player who's all time peak after 8 years is rank 14, was watching them misplay! I know that sounds self-important, but I'm so serious, almost every time there was better positioning, I would notice. And then I got the adventure and obviously creamed non-heroic, bc I think everyone should be able to. But heroic only took me 2 attempts. You can call it bs or bragging, but idc, I BEAT HEROIC CHESS IN 2 ATTEMPTS! it's kinda the peak of my life n I will never stop talking about it
I was using Lady Prestor, to turn all my minions in the deck to dragons. Was luck based but good strong

I chose Death Knight and added Helya to my deck. They didn't draw any plagues until there were about 5 cards left in deck. I still won because I'm just the better player

No, I don’t think so. At max 2. If both players have chogall then it guarantees one instead of 25% chance each.
