Rishi warned Liz Truss not to cut taxes when inflation was high at 11% in July 2022 with her unfunded borrowing (we all know how that turned out), this year he warned against Labours 28 billion per year green plan which would lead to higher taxes, so they were forced to U turn on their major flagship policy. Shows you his competence when it comes to managing the countries finances. He is a details man which is a very important quality for any PM to have. P.S Loved how simply you explained your economic plan so that everyone understands it.
Agreed.
Completely agree, people underestimate Sunak’s experience in economics, he knows it inside out. People just expect instant change and instant success, that’s just not how economics works, it takes time and a good long term plan will always be better than a short term fix (Liz Truss) which ends up hurting the economy even more.
Rishi needs a lesson on taxes. Here's an exhaustive list of taxes paid by individuals in the UK:
1. Income Tax: Progressive tax rates ranging from 20% to 45% depending on income levels.
2. National Insurance Contributions (NICs): Class 1 NICs are 12% for earnings between £9,568 and £50,270, and 2% on earnings above £50,270.
3. Value Added Tax (VAT): Standard rate is 20% on most goods and services.
4. Capital Gains Tax: Rates are typically 10% or 20% for individuals, depending on income and the type of asset sold.
5. Inheritance Tax: Generally 40% on the value of the estate above the tax-free threshold (£325,000).
6. Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT): Progressive rates starting from 0% for properties up to £125,000, up to 12% for properties over £1.5 million.
7. Council Tax: Varies depending on property valuation bands set by local authorities.
8. Vehicle Excise Duty (VED): Rates vary based on CO2 emissions and fuel type.
9. Corporation Tax: 19% flat rate for most companies.
10. Dividend Tax: Dividend tax rates are 7.5%, 32.5%, or 38.1% depending on the individual's tax band.
11. Savings Interest Tax: Rates vary based on income tax bands, with a starting rate of 0% up to the higher rate of 45%.
12. Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) (Scotland): Progressive rates similar to SDLT.
13. Land Transaction Tax (LTT) (Wales): Progressive rates similar to SDLT.
14. Fuel Duty: Approximately 57.95 pence per liter for petrol and diesel.
15. Climate Change Levy (CCL): Rates vary depending on the type of energy used.
16. Insurance Premium Tax (IPT): Standard rate is 12% on most insurance premiums.
17. Air Passenger Duty (APD): Rates vary depending on the distance traveled and class of travel.
18. TV Licence Fee: £157.50 per year for a standard color television license.
19. Gambling Tax: Rates vary depending on the type of gambling activity.
20. Import Duties: Rates vary depending on the type and value of imported goods.
Instead of Rothschild with a Chalkboard it's Sunak with a giant flip book....Bravo sir teach it brother
Most of us are worse off than 14 years ago.
Most of us agree it's time for a change.
A small tax bribe is unlikely to change that. Especially when so many companies are reporting record profits, and many others are getting billions in government subsidies to funnel to their shareholders and executives.
All of us
LOL you act like the labour communists are gonna do better 😂
@@oliverqueen17 The truth is that it shouldnt be a 2 lame horse race at the election. Small wonder most people no longer vote. Both options are bad. Voting is now how the elite control the electorate, give them 2 bad options to vote for with the same predictable outcome and when one wins say the people chose them. Its so obviously broken
@@oliverqueen17The fact that you call Labour communists demonstrates the lack of value in your comment. Labour are certainly far from good, but the Tories have ran this country into the ground, and then started digging to somehow make it even worse.
@@Hatypus really? Should I remind you of all the funds gordon got from china? And especially how keir’s economic plan brings sprinkles of socialism?
Honestly this cannot be overemphasized, helping people mitigate unforseen circumstances and mistakes .It's always good to have a financial plan,

No doubt being financially free and not having to worry much about basic things and taxes cannot be overemphasized, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.
Yeah and Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields and taxation
Most people miss it but the secret to retiring comfortably is finding a way to make returns while your money works for you. i remember i started saving for retirement quite late but I know I was making more than 10k returns from my investments monthly and it was completely passive.

Crazy that Sunak is advertising Starmer as the green candidate when for many people, that is a good thing
Green policies are bad for the economy and bad for the environment.
Yes, but he’s saying it will lead to higher taxes, higher energy bills and more borrowing. All bad, unless you dont care about your kids.
@@KampeiPRTrue. Nonetheless, many people will see it as a trade-off between higher taxes and higher global temperatures. Higher taxes are bad, but higher temperatures are worse.
Sunak needs to use language that communicates his argument that Britain is doing more than its fair share for the climate and that it alone is powerless to reverse climate change (unlike USA, China, India, etc...). Simply saying that climate measures are expensive looks unconvincing and unserious about the size of the crisis we face.
@@edmundironside9435 it's also great to see how obviously rattled he is about his upcoming election loss. Imagine anyone watching this video full of desperate lies about the opposition, seeing all these bizarre commenters praising him in broken english, and then taking him seriously as a leader. I love that he's made this channel...
@@edmundironside9435well, what would people actually want anyway? Most folk are more angry about high inflation, tax and energy costs rather than the weather.
Also, the current way of getting people to stop climate change is obviously a bad one. The ULEZ campaign has only alienated people from trying to stop climate change, the best it’s done is make poor families stop driving their vehicles and make the poor poorer…
Feel sorry for Rishi, he's actually been super transparent about problems and stuff like that, whilst having to deal with the outcome of Covid and the war. Being able to improve the economy by 2024 is something people think is easy and can be done instantly but they're actually doing an amazing job

I’m impressed that Conservatives taking the National Election 🗳️ seriously by innovating social media platforms to promote their plan and strategies. The best thing in this video is making it clear and easy understanding, particularly he didn’t spend much time on hitting the competitor. Recession already over...Jan/Feb had growth!

It's truly disheartening to see Brexit fall short of its potential for substantive change, particularly due to what appears to be governmental incompetence. The failure to implement significant reforms represents a missed opportunity to address crucial issues and fulfill the expectations of many citizens. It's evident that the current strategy lacks foresight, potentially aiming to deflect economic challenges onto Brexit and then seek re-entry into the EU in the future. This approach is both transparent and disappointing, leaving us feeling let down by the UK government.
The average worker is down about £190.per month in real terms, thanks to Tory mismanagement of the economy. A pathetic tax cut on National Insurance is not going to cut it. Most people would rather pay more tax to have services that actually work, schools that are not falling down around children's ears and an NHS. The Tories have only benefited the most wealthy and need to go. Call a general election now, Sunak.
Mr Sunak, thanks for giving us the breakdown of your plan for the economy. I have few observations and questions about your plans.
The introduction:
Cutting taxes and investing in public services are two mutually exclusive activities. The statement appears contradictory. Cutting taxes will reduce government expenditure while investing in public services increase government expenditure.
The Context:
(a) We actually pay tax on our income at least 3 times: income tax, NI & VAT @ 20%
(b) With COVID, war and inflation, taxes should not have been raised to 13.25% with income tax threshold frozen. That inflicted double pain on the masses. The Bank of England’s monetary policy of interest rate hikes would have adequately addressed inflation with the expected period of 18-24 months.
(c) Cutting taxes does not mean your plan is working:
• Tax burden is @ a 70 year-high
• Tax (NI) was raised in 2022 from 12% to 13.25%, reduced under Lizz Truss to 12%
• A simpler tax model that eliminates social security contribution is a great idea but what % will income tax increase to?
The Plan:
Inflation:
This really should not be a plan for the government because the Bank of England has the monetary policy tool which they deployed. We did not have to inflict additional pain on the people.
Not sure mortgage rates are falling also noticed that energy bills were raised during your time.
Grow the economy:
• GDP has a growth of 0.5% compared to 8.7% in 2021.
• The UK is currently 22nd in the world for GDP per capita (IMF 2024). Measuring the wealth of the people.
• Unemployment has increased from 4.2% in March 2024 to 4.3% in April 2024. What the rate for May?
• What has the government done to encourage the investments mentioned? Would it have happened anyway?
Reducing debt: If the plan is to reduce taxes and reduce debts, what is the plan to fund the promised investments in public services?
Conclusion:
Cutting taxes does not mean the plan is working. We need clearer plans that address economic issues and key performance indicators. We need transparency, responsibility and accountability with mutually inclusive solutions.
Sounds wonderful. Keep going🇬🇧!
Love the concept of the flip chart, I think it is Sunak at his best. However not quite comfortable with a tick with growing the economy and reducing debt, perhaps ‘on track’ would have been just about a transparent assessment.
Mainu is photo.? show me.?
Unemployment is low due to zero hours contracts. People are not earning the way the figures suggest.
Defining N.I. contributions as a tax is misleading - it's a contribution to pensions and other benefits, with the aim of funding those services, it shouldn't be glibly considered as going into the same pot, but it appears over time that this is what has happened. Obviously it's something that people of working age cannot avoid, but it's not a tax. Stop paying two taxes and only pay one?...just means that the new single tax will cost the taxpayer the same as income tax and NI combined...unless there's a cut, resulting in either a shortfall that will have to be met from other sources, or a reduction in services provided. This is desperate, simplistic stuff and smacks of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, it's certainly not a plan for the economy.
PM Sunak, can you please state clearly if the UK is prepared for war and terrorist attacks? Has the uk got manpower weapons and everything necessary for war? Are we prepared ? This needs clarification. It's vitally important.
Like you were going to stop the boats? Most politicians are full of hot air regardless of party.
Grow the economy is the UK’s Achilles heel with the 0.3% productivity increase meaning lower technology roll out. However higher skilled jobs need to be incentivised by a lower tax rate above 100k, this is not the case!
That's not going to happen, the country is being lined up for zero skilled labour and just a derivatives, off shore accounting, money laundering convenience. That's globalism in a nutshell.
What about the MoD?
You have wasted money on migration, Ukraine, India and are still printing money (QE).

Rishi, I’ve never earned so much money yet been so poor in my life.
Show me the pictures of Karana.? Nanna.?
Good teaching.
Recession is a cyclical process . There is always a tradeoff between recession and inflation( read phillips curve) . To decrease inflation employment and expenditure has to fall by measures like increase in mortgage rates to decrease the consumption power of an individual. So the right question is why does inflation soar so high to 11%? It happened because of fiscal stimulus which almost all the government provided to increase the expenditure due to covid as spending at that time was too low and govt cant afford to go into recession at that time , so they increased the expenditure which now is resulting in inflation.
So it's not his fault to be honest
Our corporate overlords couldn't hope for a better sock puppet.

All these simpletons/bots saying well done for explaining things in such a simple way 😂 it's just another attempt at pretending he's not continuing to muck everything up as his government have been doing for 13 years. How does he have time to make these videos? A bit worrying that with times being so hard, he can find time for these videos.
So what’s the “average”person in work? He skipped over that. The marker must’ve run dry
The only way we stop him is to band together before he destroys this country completely
“For anyone with any sense, who was in trouble, would come to the whips and tell them the truth, and say now, I’m in a jam, can you help ? It might be debt, it might be… a scandal involving small boys, or any kind of scandal in which, erm er, a member seemed likely to be mixed up in, they’d come and ask if we could help and if we could, we did. And we would do everything we can because we would store up brownie points… and if I mean, that sounds a pretty, pretty nasty reason, but it’s one of the reasons because if we could get a chap out of trouble then, he will do as we ask forever more.” Sir Tim Fortescue, Conservative party whip 1970 - 1973, interviewed in 1995 BBC documentary titled “Westminster’s Secret Service”.

Who have a plan to be prime minister the one who have plans
Rishi Sunak lied to Australian taxpayers when he joined Aurkus and promised Australia a exact price and timeline. He is behind schedule and the price is more than he said he needed for the sale. Why should Australia keep the boats when the price is going up? The U.K has no idea what Richard Marles will eventually be required to pay and doesn't care. Offering a useless Prince William boat adds insult to injury. Are the Australian boats Rishi lobbied for even half done? When is Australia getting them? It should be no payment if you just make up a price and timeline and have no desire to stick anywhere close to it.
Has this been generated by generative AI? his PR team were surely trolling him when they said this was a good idea
Is the RNLI used as a water taxi now?
Rishi - make sure you let everyone know the facts. We are projected to grow by 0.8% this year and surge to 1.9% the following year. We are on the brink of a boom.
1.9%is a boom? I think it has to be 4% and above for that. 1.9% is a dire trickle, and given it's mainly in sectors of low employment, and probably areas made untouchable for taxes, the usual few, the 1.9% dream is not more than yet another promising bust, in fact.
The General Election affords us a short period in time where We are not looked down upon for being mere pond life. We've now all been given a temporary upgrade to chess pieces. We're here to be bargained with. Our votes are important to our power players as they provide them with the oxygen of support. You are the fodder for their competitive bargaining and the pledges that they are under no obligation to uphold. Beware of what You are leaving Yourself open to!
