This made me so homesick! I lived there for five years. This has to be the most live-able city on earth! It is an enormous dense city, yet those quiet pedestrian areas wind throughout it. This shows the advantage of large dense city. Where else on earth could you have such a Christmas decoration store? I remember that it went up just like that for five floors. I once saw a small shop in an electronics mall in Guangzhou that sold nothing but the flexible elements of loud-speakers. That is only possible with a large dense population. Nice work!
You missed out on a fantastic won ton soup shop right near where you were! The best I’ve ever tasted! And it has seating!, I recognise everything and everyplace you went! I attended a Sunday service in the Cathedral when I was there - recognised the hymns but not in Chinese. Great experience! Did you experience some of the girls eyeing you up while trying not to look like they are eyeing you up!? Made me laugh! An amazing city! I made loads of friends there who I chat to on WeChat. A lot are amazing colourful people! Totally love the city! Can’t wait to go back!
It's probably the worst couple of days in a year in terms of weather to hang around in GZ. Nice to see you still doing great with these videos! I've been living in GZ for more than 20 years so Patrick and guys in comment you are welcome to ask me anything!
The first whole sale stores you have been to is the old whoesale place. And just on top of the robot i suppose, is the new grand building of wholesale, even more trendy and chic souvenirs and toys.
There is a toys heaven in Yide road, not the Wanning shopping center,it is called Cino-hongkong toys wholesale center(中港玩具城),I spent my high school days there
Thanks again for more video from Guangzhou. I am coming to China in September and would like to see Guangzhou. My girlfriend is from mainland but shes a little nervous about going there. Did you feel safe? Keep up the great videos. Have you been to the Zhangjiajie National Park. I would love to see your video from that trip.
Everywhere in China is very safe. It's also very safe to go out in the morning. The police didn't have guns or electric shocks. Do you imagine China's security?
Hello Patmax, I am a big China fan, especially from Shanghai. And I love your travel videos from China. I'm also very interested in Guangzhou. That's why I have a request. Could you show the beautiful shopping streets in the evening? Or streets with bars? Also the artist quarter Redtory. Not the inconspicuous roads please. For example: Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street or Beijing Road at evening light. Maybe a cool street with stylish cafes and bars. Thank you and best regards
One more note. I enjoyed your video in Yangshuo so much. There was so much going on in the evening and it was really atmospheric. Maybe you can capture Guangzhou like that in the evening?

Oh~ i miss those convenient stores. There are non in where i live in france. Lack of baozi time. The triangle thing wraped with bamboo leaf is 'zong zi', when we eat specially alot in the Dragon boat Festival (you may know this festival?)
Great video! At the 5.09 mark of this video, Biao Robot Basecamp, BiaoZai. Love Zimbo at 5.14. Anyone know contact info for this shop &/or its address in Guangzhou? Thanks!
Haha I'm glad that you accept the advice of taking metro line3 in the morning , and you were right that by the time you arrived at Zhujiang new town station the rush hour had already gone ~ I'm guessing whether you have tried Shahe rice noodles and wonton noodles hahaha , for they were both typical food of Canton , Hongkong and Macao . I was really surprised and pleased for your decision of not to upload any video about Hongkong disturbance , because as you already knew that the power conflict behind this disturbance was not simple , and if you were involved in any political issue , your original goal of travel will corrupt , and what's worst you will be nailed on the government's watch list .
Thank you I had no idea there was that extensive amount of colonial architecture in Guangzhou I had no idea if you get time on another video or maybe a comment below does a simplified version of how to find it that would be great is this definitely not a small city thanks
American Gooeyduck you can find those architectures along metro line6. Just start your exploration from the Beijing Road station to Haizhu Square station :)
Hey Pat you know what is the saddest thing in the world? Your rice cake (糉子) not dipped in the SOY SOURCE!!! Just as sad as french fries without ketchup!!!
Is it safe for a female to travel alone in Guangzhou? Will it be hard to travel via bus if you can't understand chinese or can't speak their language?? Tnx in advance. Should you be able to answer my questions. Your vlogs were educational and sooo helpful, btw.. 😊😊
I thought those guys with a kangaroo logo on the box are delivery guys working for a delivery service company and not for restaurants. I know they have this in many places like Shanghai.
One thing I will say about China compared how things are currently in the West, is that China seems to be where the West was when it was at its economic peak. Today, I walk around my local cities and towns in the UK and all the once thriving retail and market stores have now vanished or are dying. The same can be said in parts of the US too. Ourselves are to blame though. As we rely more on Amazon and less on local businesses, we are killing our own economy. In China they believe in thriving local businesses, and the government does a lot of work to protect and help these, but here in the West we do nothing. We are stupid and lazy. If we want to remain competitive with China and continue to grow our economies then we need to take a leaf out of China's economic model, rather than pretending that we don't need to address our failings.
Really enjoy your videos. So much positive energy. Keep up the good work and enjoy your travel.
Great video, I was in Gaungzhou in Spring 2016, love the food and people Keep up great work!

Haha, you can always find a baozi shop or a dumpling shop no matter where you go
so Patrick, among four 1st-tier cities in Mainland China, which one is your favorite? which one you think is more comfortable to live in?
You should ask how much is the robot. The robot is so cute.
