- Nothing beats winter camping! I invite you to chill with me and Da Woof- grab a hot cup of tea, some snacks, and just RELAX!
In winter, you really get to appreciate the simple things in life- like no mosquitoes, the warm glow of a fire, the deep silence, the moon glow reflecting off the snow, and a nice, warm sleeping bag to dive into. And bonus- you'll likely be alone, as most people don't camp in the winter! Having a hot tent to take the chill off before you go to bed is just heaven. And having your best furry friend along is the cherry on top!

One year later I am enjoying all your films. They bring joy to my heart and get me through the day. I also used to camp in my woods when I was a child. My parents loved having a winter picnic; sledding all they needed up into the woods, build a fire in the snow and sit on wood stumps to roast hot dogs and cook baked beans. What memories.

You remind me so much of myself. I have lived sooo much of my life in the woods. They had to finally say I was too old to be a Girl Scout , so after I got out of college, I came back as a leader lol. I love primitive camping! I hiked the Appalachian Trail, camped from Winter Haven, Fl to Anaheim , Ca. In 1959 when there were no camp grounds. You name it I’ve tried it!
I love that you get groups of ladies and teach them the basics of camping.
I’m 81 years old now, so I’ve slowed down a bit but camping made my life SUPER SPECIAL. I love your videos! ❤️❤️❤️

I don't understand what is so wonderful about winter camping. I'm almost 70 yrs old and have done a fair bit of camping in my days. I like my snow on the other side of a plate glass window. In my opinion, nothing is more magical than watching the snow come down with a fire in the woodstove to my back and a cup of hot chocolate in one hand and some cinnamon toast in the other.

I dont know you Marty but i imagine you Can't get out much. Try going into the wild if your able and enjoy what Brooke is sharing . Notice she is always putting positives and gratitude in to her dialogue. Try that too if you want to enjoy life . Get rid of the nay say speak and try to be remembered for saying inspiring things. Its easier to be positive than negative. Add Love to your tone.

Oh, Brooke...as a southern Connecticut girl, I grew up in the woods. Probably from the time I was 5 or 6 my friend Lindsay and I would pack a container with wild grapes, fill my brother's Boy Scout canteen with water and off we would go. Pine forest, ledges, ponds, waterfalls, wildflowers and a bed of leaves underfoot. As an older kid I started camping -- everything from a pup tent to a one-room straw bale and adobe house (that was in CA). Today I saw that there was grass everywhere, ice melting and blue skies...and being the "Ent" that I am, all I want to do after a dreadful five years is go into the woods. But I am crippled now from multiple bouts of Lyme Disease, and so terribly afraid of ticks. I live vicariously through you and Dave and the Woof. They say God doesn't make mistakes, but really...ticks??

My husband and I never got to see you guys on Alone until this week when we stumbled on to Alone on History on demand. We watch the history channel but had never clicked on history on demand,and there you were! 👏👏👏We binged watched you and Dave until 2:00 am this morning! You guys were amazing, I couldn’t help but think if I could have given you my extra 30 pounds you would have easily won!😂 What a beautiful shelter you build in time for Dave, my husband and I were so touched, God bless you dear lady and P.S we loved the video😇😇😇

Every winner of Alone had weight going in. Skills as well, but way to many had too leave due to low weight. I truly believe they would have won if not for the weight lose. It messes way too much with mind.

Da woof is a good guard dog, she was so excited. I love pottery it is so much fun, you will get better with practice. The tent looks lovely and I know those Winnerwell stoves are awesome. I used to travel to Russia (Siberia) every month and took dozens of Tabasco bottles as gifts for my hosts. They loved the spice it added to 'ordinary' foods.

I always wanted to visit Siberia. I even planned to take the Trans-Siberian across Russia about a decade ago, but settled for a cargo ship cruise around Asia and New Zealand instead.
i have a tuff time getting stakes in the ground when our ground is still ice. So i throw a hammock and a wool blanket next to the campfire. Nice to see you Brooke! Thanks for sharing this video 🤠

inspiring.. loved camping by myself in the woods , mountains, and deserts. I felt so free and safe. People have asked if I felt safe. I never really thought about it , but knew my angels were guiding my way. I now live in my elder years on the slopes of Haleakala Crater.. not too remote, but still very special to my heart. Thank you for sharing your story, I like your partner's videos too. What a perfect couple.
Maisie is truly happiest in the woods. Maybe just take on short trips close to home. She could still get out and have fun.

Years ago, my dad was a scout master for about a decade while my two brothers were teens and tweens, and I loved helping them pack for freeze-out!

I did some camping for years when I was in my 20’s and really enjoyed it. The closest I think I will come to it now being in my late 60’s is with an RV. We would like to travel and see USA all the way and Canada. This pandemic put a pin in our balloon, but praying it ends soon so we can live our dream.
Your videos of you and your husband and son, are so enjoyable. I feel like I am along for the trip and sitting next to you around the campfire, eating the delicious chow and drinking coffee and eating a piece of chocolate, love chocolate. Lol
So thank you for taking us along with and giving us ideas ( and courage) on how to get back out into this beautiful world.

My dog reacted to Maisy's barks. She doesn't normally react to videos like that, so maybe Maisy was barking at an animal. My dog is very cautious about that.
