Rest well to my uncle Melvin 'Mel' London. He was truly an unsung song writer and producer of this time who worked with Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Junior Wells, etc. at Chess records. My uncle later recorded on his own label, Chief records. He never received his true just due...but many know one of his most famous work: "Mannish Boy" which has been recorded and re-recorded by multiple greats as well as used in commercials and in movies throughout the years. A lot of the blus singers were and still is the originals. Elvis Presley didn't create hound dog. Big Mama Thornton created that sound. Give honor to whom honor is due
did these black artists get their proper royalties or were they robbed like so many others. what about their families today are they still eating off the records put out?
