- Our trip to French Polynesia has been amazing in so many different ways. We knew this trip to Tahiti and Moorea was on our bucket list and we had to get here as soon as possible. Once we got to this island paradise, we started learning a few things about this place that no one really tells you. In this video, we want to share a few tips and tricks of how to travel French Polynesia.
We wanted to make sure we gave you the best information possible, so our travel guide is pretty complex. We cover a few of the basics like if you should drink the tap water or buy cases of water bottles on Tahiti and Moorea. You'll also hear us discuss the food situation on the islands so you'll know if you should eat out at restaurants or if you wouldn't mind cooking a few meals in every once in a while. Of course we talk about the best places to go and what expectations to have when finding excursions that fit your travel style. We also share also money: what credit cards are accepted, when you need to pay with cash, and what to do with their ATM's. We hope you enjoy our travel guide to this wonderful place!

After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, we realized the time was right to quit our jobs and travel full time. In late 2021, we left everything to become full time travel vloggers and we've loved every minute of it. Our goal is to make it to all seven continents and visit many countries as possible. We hope you will follow along on our journey and that we can inspire you to travel in your own country or around the world!

We just need money and some GODDAMNED FAITH!
Always gotta keep the faith!
@@JacobandJennyTravel money faith and a plan arthur
Spot on. My favorite was learning about all the WW2 outposts and cannons that are still scattered on the hillsides of Bora Bora
We had no idea about those! We'll have to make it to Bora Bora next time we visit French Polynesia!
So you took the trolley from saint denis
We took a ferry from Tahiti to get to Moorea!
@@JacobandJennyTravel hope you didng get stranded in guarma
How did you book your ferry?
We just bought our tickets right at the dock!
Ok, thanks. I asked because I thought I read something that said it was best to get a ticket way in advance because they can book up or be super busy? Or maybe thats only if you are driving over? @@JacobandJennyTravel

I want to see Tahiti Nui and iti by car. Then get the ferry to Moorea. Can’t wait to go. Not getting any younger. Bora Bora maybe some later time. Heard the mosquitoes can be pretty bad. Learning some Francais now for a trip hopefully in June or July.
You will have to most amazing time there!! It truly is paradise. We didn't have any mosquitos while we were there in August but we may have just been lucky! Thanks so much for watching :) Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for the info. We are doing a Paul Gauguin cruise May 2024. Last time we did it I was kicking myself for not extending it. The only nonstop flight out of Seattle would give us a day and a half on the front end and 3 days on the back end. Trying to figure out best way to handle the back end lodging/exploring. Stay in Papeete or Moorea? Looking for low cost nice lodging options please. 😊 and best way to book excursions. Or are we better off renting a car and exploring on our own?
I would stay two nights in Moorea and then your last night in Papeete to make catching your flight easy. If you stay in Papeete we would highly recommend taking a tour through the Papeete valley, it is like nothing you have ever seen before! Here is a video we made on our experience there: ua-cam.com/video/3roBmtlKVZI/v-deo.html . There is so many great snorkeling tours in Moorea and also drives through the middle of the island that are fun! Have a great trip :)
will pinkertons be there in tahiti?
Haha I am not sure who that is!!
@@JacobandJennyTravel reason why me, dutch, arthur and the gang want to move to tahiti.
Brooo😂😂😂😂💀💀💀
“I have a plan Arthur”
Did you do a tour into the island and the mountains?
We did and it was amazing :)
hi thanks flrn your informative video. which month did you go?
Of course, we are glad it helped! We went the last two weeks of August last year!
Glad they love pizza 🍕.
Mango papaya and guava too…
And it is delicious!! Thanks for your comment :)
Thank you for the very informative video. Love it!! For the 3 days in Papeete, did you rent a car/scooter? Where did you go and what did you do? We are going to Tahiti for a cruise trip on Dec. 1and will stay at an Airbn near the airport. We have 1 1/2 day pre-cruise and 10-hour post cruise in Papeete and haven't had any plans for those days yet. We are thinking about renting a car for 1 day pre-cruise. What do you think?
We didn't rent a car but it would have been nice to explore some beaches! We did a Papenoo Valley tour and it was sooooo amazing. We also did a snorkeling trip which was also incredible. We have videos on those activities too if you want to check them out and see if you will like them :)
Thank you for your speedy response. Because the taxi fares to and from many places we'd like to go to are so expensive as you pointed out, we think it would be more feasible to rent a car for one day. However, we haven't made any reservations yet. We will check the videos you mentioned. Thanks again.
The tours we did also included transportation so you can check that out too! We hope you have an amazing time!
Some advice, In the future Saying something like taxis cost a lot with out saying how much is relative and not helpful. Also you said the water taste “weird”, but didn’t say if you got sick. Is it drinkable or not ?
You can drink it in Tahiti but it tastes weird, but it is not safe to drink on the smaller islands, like Moorea and Bora Bora.
What month was this trip? I know the whale peak season is mid-August through October. We are planning a trip next year and we are hoping to time it at the right time to increase our chances of seeing them.
We went the last two weeks in august! The baby whales were still really young so our guide thinks that’s why they were staying far away from us. We are going to try again probably towards the ends of September next year so the babies are older and the mothers are less protective
Hi! How much does it cost to Uber or taxi around the island?
They just have taxis and they are decently expensive. Around $40 for a 20 minute ride!
You guys are so cute! I really appreciate this advice. So US dollars are ok? You don’t have to exchange?
Thank you so much! :) I believe most places took US dollars but its really the vendors preference! We appreciate you watching!!
I prefer Moorea over Bora Bora beautiful island, Bora Bora is overpriced especially when you can get to Moorea half the price
That’s so true! Bora Bora looked amazing in the pictures and we want to go there one day but Moorea was so affordable and the views and adventure in Moorea were amazing!
Where did you stay in moorea?
At Hotel Kaveka! It was amazing!
well I've never heard someone call marine life, wildlife
Well I guess now you have haha! Thanks for watching :)
20 per per person for a meal is cheap! Where do you guys live? Cause you sound like you are from a small town
Haha nope we live in a city! Thanks for watching!
@@JacobandJennyTravel you are welcome! But 20.00 per person is NOT really expensive
Surprised that the taxi doesn’t take cards? Surprised that the atm charges $5? These two are d u m b
Everything is a learning experience. The taxis in our country take credit cards
