If instead they sent a notification instruction to your phone to simply touch the fingerprint sensor ...and that automatically logged one in, wouldn't that be better? It's commonly used for online brokerages so if good enough for that...?

None of this helps if you forget your pin code. I had to do a full system restore which erases all of the information on your phone to factory settings. I then try to start fresh and it asks for the pin all over again! Even using my email address only prompted me to wait 24 hours for further instructions. There has to be a way to unlock your phone if you forget your pin without having to go through a factory reset. This was a complete nightmare.

Turning on 2-step verification will turn it off for your account. Are you sure you want to proceed?" What do I do about this? The chrome book and my android phone are the main devices I use my google account on. I have 2 that I need to set up for 2 step verification.
