Peter says: I love the Springboks and rugby is one of my favourite sports. Although as a sports journalist I am supposed to remain neutral, I always like to point out that before I became a professional, I was just a big fan! I hold a Masters Degree in International Journalism so at least you know I should be able to ask a good question or two! My dream is to do this UA-cam Channel permanently. to think this legend is still only 33 years old
so mature as a youngster, well spoken, intelligent....
happy to hear he is well and gainfully employed in the property sector
my personal favorite Lambie memory is THAT Currie Cup final try in 2010
Great words for a great man and a great player, My Cousin!
What a player. Tragic that his career was ended the way it was.
Absolutely. Thanks for the comment, Christopher.
Though I love CJ, it was a bad one
It certainly was.
I remember the Sharks playing in New Zealand the one Saturday, in Durban the next Saturday and having to travel back to New Zealand for the final. Total madness in travelling.
Brutal stuff!
Ahhh one of my favourite Boks of all time!
I knew you would enjoy this one!
What a legend!
I agree!
pretty sure had it not been for the concussion, he & handre would've been our two #10's the last decade
I agree!
Outstanding interview, thanks Peter
Thanks so much, Paul. Glad you enjoyed it.
Another terrific video. Could’ve been one of springboks all time greats. Seems like a wonderful young man.
Thanks Trevor! I was so pleased I could get Pat on the show. Great guy, great guest and a great player!
What a well spoken guy, wouldn't have taken him for a rugby player!
Excellent discussion.Thks.
Thanks for the kind words, Bruce.
How great would it be to have some footage to support the interview!
It would be great. Unfortunately there are copyright issues and I would run the risk of having the videos taken down, having my channel demonitised or even worse, my channel deleted. It's a shame.
I was at that Wellington game v the Wallabies. Next day driving back to Auckland, the NZ radio commentators all agreed that it was the worst refereeing performance they had ever seen
Cool that you got to be at the game nevertheless. I remember that refereeing shocker and don't forget Bryce Lawrence was promoted to head of referees in New Zealand after that match!
Very suspicious.
A pitty that his career was cut so short.
It really is a pity. Great player he was!
Amazing to hear how long it took him to recover from that concussion...Another great interview with a Springbok great..Thx Peter
Courageous story! Thanks as always for the comment, Sakabula!
What a great catch!❤️🫡🇿🇦
Thanks Warren!
Hi Sir. Very good podcast. Can you tell me where to buy that turquoise Springbok top you wearing please. Can would love to buy one. Thanks
I Roland. Thank you kindly for the message. Glad you enjoyed it.
I bought the Springbok turquoise top online actually. You should be able to get it on the SA Rugby online shop or you can also try Total Sports and Sportsman's Warehouse - they should have it.
@@frontrowrugby Thank you. Cheers.
It's a shame he was shuffled around so much, and he had the issues he did with concussion. Very good player, but wonder how things would have been if he could have just played in one spot. Who can forget that one kick against the All Blacks though?
He was indeed a very good player. Who knows how things could have turned out differently. He will forever be a hero for that winning kick against the All Blacks!
Not many talk about this but he was also very tough.
Pat was a good utility back what a pity his career was cut short by injuries! And if I am not mistaken, Pat was also Michaelhouse's first springbok?
He was a wonderful player. such a shame about the injuries indeed. Michaelhouse's first? Seems incredible that such a famous school had to wait so long!
Bobby Skinstad was a Michaelhouse old boy.
Double check that. I think Bob was at Hilton but I'm not an expert on schools and school sports.
@@frontrowrugby Skinstad & Teichmann are Hilton old boys!
Thanks for that, Sean!
Boks won twice
Just the one sadly. We lost all three Down Under and then won one and lost two at home. Bad year for the Boks.
Ok- thanks Peter- I had to get 1 wrong eventually!
Haha, I thought it would never happen, Sean!
