In this stirring performance, the The Boston Children's Chorus sings "Tshotsholoza" and "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around" -- freedom songs from South Africa and the U.S. Civil Rights movement.
The Boston Children's Chorus, an innovative arts education organization, unites children across differences of age, race, religion and socioeconomic status. The children discover the power of singing to transcend social barriers in a celebration of shared humanity and love of music. Here the chorus opens TEDxBoston 2012 with "Tshotsholoza" and "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around", freedom songs from South Africa and the U.S. Civil Rights movement that epitomize how an idea can transform lives.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
